My brother and I ate thier last night. The food was great and came out very quickly. The service was AWFUL!!! Our server spent his entire time on his cell phone and seemed irritated that our table walked in to eat. He actually walked away from me as I was in the middle of asking a question! I have been a server for a very long time and would NEVER treat a table like they were inconviencing me by being there. To make it worse I called the«manager» to complain and he did nothing to compensate. Which tells me they could care less about how the server treated us. I don’t care how good the food is or how close I live, I would never return to a establishment who clearly does not care about the customer! You know the ones who pay your bills! #Absolutely Disappointing

Best Mexican lunch Buffet I’ve ever had… way better than Boca Chica. Staff are super nice too. The check out guy was hysterical and all smiley. I really plan to come back probably once a week. yum yum yum. I agree on the white sauce with the salsa… its on the buffet. You don’t get chips and salsa to start, but the buffet is so awesome and cheap, i DON’t care. Get it off the buffet. I don’t agree with Rhonda G about the taco meat. I guess its preference. I think the meat was terrific. Ya they are greasy but have ya been to Mexico lately? The cook EVERYTHING in lard.

I had a LivingSocial deal for here so we figured we would try it out. It was good, not an «oh my god, I need to eat here every day» kind of experience, but good. Details; Food: hit and miss, I had the vegetarian burrito which was kind of blah. It had no sauce, which was disappointing and was luke warm at best. The chips didn’t come with salsa which was a huge let down. My girlfriend had the fajitas though and they were awesome! Service: Great, she was helpful and attentive. Someone below complained about servers not knowing English, I didn’t have that problem at all and I talked to 3 of the 4 employees in there! Atmosphere: the restaurant is small, really small, so nothing too special there. We got there about an hour and a half before karaōke started and the people trickling in seemed really interesting, it may be worth a trip back just to experience that!

Have gone for their Breakfast Brunch 3 times and it’s a good deal. I’m vegetarian so I can’t comment on their meat offerings(4) but my table mates seemed happy with the sausages, taco meat, shredded pork, shredded chicken.etc. But the selections are many with both ‘traditional Mexican’ as well as ‘American’ brunch staples. Can’t beat the price — easy location, free parking. Clean and well managed place!

Don’t ever get tacos here. The ground beef was so greasy it saturated a hard shell and I had to ask for another shell to transfer it in. The red salsa was good not too hot, but they are to lazy to chop the cilantro and you get the strings in it. The AC wasn’t worth a damn. I love this chain, but I am out of love with this location.

After driving by El Toro and seeing that they had a Sunday Brunch(15% off with church bulletin) sign, we stopped in, minus the church bulletin. Wasn’t in the mood for anymore Christmas-y type food or leftovers, so this place sounded pretty good. J & I both ordered the brunch buffett and were quite impressed by the selections available. Buffett is a pretty decent size spread with lots to choose from served in the nice buffett servers with the roll down lids. Highlights include: –rice –beans –taco shells — eggs benedict –enchiladas(cheese, meat) –quesadillas –sausage links –flour tortillas –chips –steak and all the fixings for tacos, nachos, what have you. –guacamole fruit, desserts, plaintains. A decent variety for a very decent price. Not bad at all. Would like to stop back for their regular menu. Their chips, taco shells and guacamole are big winners with me. The plates are a tad too small for a buffett or even an entrée. They just seemed more appropriate for sandwiches.

I experienced El Toro’s lunch buffet for $ 5.99. It’s now 9:02 pm and my stomach is now experiencing this lunch buffet. No go.

Nice job of redoing the Awada’s building. Clean attractive and brighter. Very nice waitstaff, many of whom unfortunately are not fluent in English. Not a lot of customers, so we ate in the bar area. Plenty of chips and sauce(not salsa) on the table. The food… hit and miss. My quesadilla — no, I’ve had better from Taco Bell. Tamales –ok Tacos –eh Enchiladas — pretty good Fajitas — ok It probably didn’t help that meals ordered with beans came out with rice and those ordered with rice came with beans. Good margaritas in assorted sizes from regular up to HUGE. The kicker for our group though… The Twins were playing in KC — and on TV — but not here. They had a Mexican movie on with no sound. When we asked about baseball, they didn’t know how to find it. When they finally did, they put it on one TV behind us. I guess this isn’t considered«Twins Territory».

We had a great meal here today! I had the mixed meat(chicken and steak) and my wife had a enchalata and a tamale. It was served quickly and piping hot. Our server was very attentive and Oscar, the manager, was right there to see how our meal was. When he found out it was our anniversary he came out with a slice of wonderful cake. I hope more folks come out to eat at this newer St. Paul outpost of the great Mexican restaurant.

Good Mexican restaurant with good prices. The happy hour deals are great if you like beer and tequila. The nachos are very good and are a nice change of pace from most establishments, where good nachos are equated with how many condiments can be thrown onto a plate. Entrees are very large, so splitting a plate might be a good idea. Nice staff with a very nice bar/lounge area. The food comes out really fast, so order when you’re ready to eat.
