Great food, friendly service, loved every part of the experience! Had the Yak Momos — like all the previous reviews, you can’t go wrong. So so so yummy. Chicken Tikki Masala was amazing and/but unlike any other I’ve ever had. Had a somewhat smoky flavor and I loved it! The palak paneer is out of this world and my fiancé loved his chicken curry(extra spicy!) in fact — he said it was the best he’s ever had. We had the garlic naan and butter tori. I preferred the garlic but I’m not a giant lover of naan in the first place, which is weird because I love carbs. It was good though, doughy and good! We will be back for sure! Yummy place!

This cozy corner restaurant offers great Nepali, Indian and Tibetan cuisine. They have some great vegetarian appetizers, such as the veggie pakoras(cauliflower, potato, eggplant, zucchini, green pepper and mushroom), the chili tofu, the veggie momos(dumplings) or the daal(lentil soup). For your main course, go for the matar and paneer curry(green pea and cheese in tomato sauce), the chickpea curry or the veggie chau chau(pan fried noodles). If you’re dining with a meat lover, I recommend the chicken tikka masala, the lamb curry or the chicken palak(boneless chicken cooked with spinach). Everest’s menu is simple, classic and won’t disappoint.

This place definitely satisfied my hunger for authentic Nepali food! We drove by this place accidentally and quickly turned around to test it out. The place is small and cozy and definitely has Nepali and Tibetan atmosphere to the place. We ordered yak momo, bindi aloo, and poori. The food came a little late but we didn’t even mind. The server ladies were so friendly with the biggest smiles. All our food were served together which we heavily appreciated. The bindi aloo was delicious and the poori was cooked to perfection. The yak momo was surprisingly really yummy! The chutney on the side was also perfect. This was a place with appreciation for authentic Himalayan flavors. It ‘almost’ felt like I was eating my moms food at home. It was a warm atmosphere and the food was exactly what we wanted. We are definitely returning to this place!

I love this place. This is my «comfort food» restaurant to go out to. It’s got a great, bright, clean, colorful ambiance. They serve alcohol. And they have the most amazing Nepal food. My go to is the okra curry, which is deliciously flavorful. Be aware that their spice level isn’t downgraded for Minnesota-level.

So good!!! I love their Palak Paneer! It’s like no other I’ve ever had. The naan is slightly sweeter than most and the buffet is well stocked. Very good place for vegetarians too.

Very pleasant staff and accommodating. I had not idea what to order and for recommendations. Was offered the 3 Yak Momo’s and 3 Chicken Momo’s for a starter and the Lamb Curry for my main meal. The Yak Momo’s were delicious and had I known initially I would have ordered more! The meat was tender, moist and full of flavor. After eating this I was excited for the Lamb Curry. I can say that the Lamb Curry was good but I was expecting more flavor and kick(especially after hearing that a 3 was intense). Highly recommend the Momo’s and especially the YAK!

Stopped in for lunch today while visiting the area) I’m from Canada). Found this restaurant on Unilocal and felt like Indian so I went. From the moment I walked in the front door I was so impressed by the friendliness ofeveryone of the people who work there. I had the buffet special and although there was a limited number of items,(around 8) they were absolutely delicious. Definitely genuine Indian cuisine.

This is a cute little Indian/Nepalese restaurant with a hipster vibe. Had the buffet there, not a very wide variety of selection, but it was tasty, and suited me because anyways, I don’t like a lot of food for buffet because you tend to stuff yourself in a buffet. Service was prompt as well. My only complaint would be that the buffet display area is very cramped and you may bump into other people while taking your favorite dollop of curry. But price was also good(affordable) for a weekend buffet.

Apparently the restaurant to be at on Saturdays at 5:30PM is this one because it was poppin’ while I was there. The tables were pretty quick to open and pretty quick to be filled. I think I saw one empty table briefly remain open for longer than five minutes, but it was filled in short order. Once I got a bite of my food, I understood why. I opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala at the medium+ spice level, and it was amazing. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, the medium+ spice was perfect, and the portion size was perfect to leave just a little bit to take home to enjoy later. It was served with one plate of rice for two people, so ask for more off the bat if you’re concerned. However, they will come around and ask if you want more rice approximately five times, so you’ll be covered. For dessert, I had the Lal Mohan. It’s basically fried dough soaked and served in sugar syrup. So, a simple cake donut. And so good! Sugar syrup is the best, c’mon. The service is fast and a little bit on the omnipresent side. Three different people checked up on us multiple times. Still, it wasn’t distracting and it was nice to have the option of endless rice.

Excellent service and great food make Everest on Grand one of the best Nepalese restaurants that I’ve tried in a long time. They mix up Authentic dishes with familiar Indian cousin. The flavors were great and our waitress took the time out to explain various dishes and the differences to us. Definitely worth your money.

Very disappointing. My girlfriend was disappointed as well. Very dirty, cramped, and unkempt. Not many options for lunch, but they were often out of food and kept things sitting for a long time– it was unsettling. Also very unprofessional– workers were leaving from the back and stocking up on the buffet line, budging in front of customers before leaving. Not good food either. The naan bread was like cardboard as well… Will not be back :/

Overall, we enjoyed Everest on Grand and give it 3.5 stars. Nice little place with good food. We were in the cities for a flight and met up with some family for supper. We enjoy eating family style(getting a bunch and sharing it) so we ordered: Meat Momos — The sauce that comes with these is amazing. We’d eat it over rice by itself. Tandoor Chicken Wings — Really nice flavor. Loved the veggies and the mint sauce. Even people at the table that hate traditional«hot wings» enjoyed this variation of the dish. Chicken Tikka Masala — Very tasty, but more of a yellow hue instead of the typical orange we are accustomed to. Very small serving for the price. Palak Paneer — We always order this at Indian Restaurants. Nothing special here. We ordered it «Very Hot» and we disappointed that it really was medium at best. Ema Datsi — We wanted to try something new and this called out to us. We enjoyed the addition of Feta to the dish, but felt it was too watery. We wish the sauce had been thicker, but this may be how it is typically prepared(we wouldn’t know). Naan — We could barely taste the garlic and we wish they had cut it up before serving it to the four of us. A basket option would really help too. Indian Beer — Comes with chilled glasses. Always a plus! Service was a little slow and we had to flag them down if we wanted anything. We kinda felt that the waiters ignored us. The exception to the inattentive wait staff was a quiet spoken lady that refilled our water constantly with a smile the entire meal.

This is one of our favorites and we go often! We almost always order the same thing. Our go-to entries are both yak and veggie momos, chicken chhoyla, palak paneer, tikka masala and garlic naan. Delicious! We have been very happy with the service. One time I left my jacket, and the next time I came back our waiter gave it to me. I had no idea where I left it!

Open view restaurant in Cleveland. Food taste and customer service are little ok. But price of the food and beverages are over priced. their naan have too much yeast and fermented long and has over sugar in the recipe … But hygiene level of the restaurant was ok, I did nt find anything dirty there.Good. Truly I can say that food quantity is good but naan is over priced. Shrimp curry was delicious. Tandoori chicken breast, ohh god nothing on it. Before do the marination slit or make some marks on the breast and do the marination so that it can absorb easily. And after marination keep it for at least 18 hrs to get the poultry tender. Then taste will be better. touch with lemon juice, chaat masala and some butter before serve.

Very authentic. This place touches all the necessities when it comes to Himalayan//Indian food. Great lunch buffet with a variety of tasty dishes and great desert even. Service is great and the atmosphere is very appropriate. Such an awesome place in a perfect location on Grand.

This place never disappoints! Love it! Chicken momos to start, then ramtoria(fried okra), chicken chhoyla and palak paneer. And, of course, garlic naan. Tons of food, lots of leftovers. Love it!

I had heard so many great things about this place that maybe I can in with the wrong expectations… It was definitely decent, but not out of this world by any means… I was also eating with a person who is kind of spice-averse, but still, there could have been more flavor. That said, the spice averse person really liked it(we got our dishes mild) so that’s another positive to take away. Really enjoyed the momos. I didn’t have any problems with service, but at the same time, nothing above and beyond. Right on a bus line which is nice. I will have to come back again and see if I just came on an off day! And I will have to try adding a little heat!

I do not eat Indian cuisine often, so I don’t know if my palette is educated enough to know what’s good/bad BUT I really did enjoy eating here. I had the Lamb Tikka Marsala and there wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy about it. The medium spiciness seemed about right and the curry wasn’t overflavoring the rest of the food. It was present but at an appropriate level. I’m not sure what the other comments on lack of service are in regards to because our server stopped by frequently to top off our water glasses and to make sure everything was good. Perhaps it depends on how busy they are or who the server is, but I was quite content with her service. The Lamb Tikka Marsala was a bit expensive, but I also think it may have been one of the most expensive things on their menu. It was almost $ 17 for the meal and was over $ 22 by the time I paid the tip. It was very good, but $ 22 is quite a bit for a single person to pay for a single meal. I considered that Lamb may be a bit of an expensive meat, but the chicken version of the same dish is only cheaper by a dollar. 5 stars for food. 5 stars for service. 3 stars for price. 4 stars overall and a good place to visit on a quiet night or weekend.

Food didn’t have very much taste, service fairly slow. The prices were decent but the food really lacked any Indian taste whatsoever. Curry that tastes like tofu is unheard of but this place can do it. Definitely would not come back.

Hard to rate on one and one half visits, but here are my first impressions: The lunch buffet. Small, though larger then the Himalayan buffet on Lake. The buffet has different items every day; they have a menu just for the buffet, showing what will be available on which day. Not outstanding, but I’d eat here often if I lived in the neighborhood. Had the Yak momos to go. Heated them up for dinner. Yum! Momos are basically fried won tons with more attention to the inside meat. A goodly number of momos, so you can split the appetizer amongst two or more, and possibly make a full mean if you’re not too hungry or have a side dish. I’ve had other momos, and the yak meat was just a shade different, in a delicious preparation that comes with a tasty hot sauce.

I’ve never had Tibetan/Nepali food before and I tried it out. The food was amazing. Flavors were nothing I have ever tasted. The sauces were really good, whether it was the mint, the tangy one, or even the hot sauce. I would love the recipe for the hot sauce. The entrees and appetizers were top notch. A definite place to visit and try out if you’ve never had it before.

Give Me Mo Momos! I just had takeout for the first time from Everest on Grand and It. Was. Awesome! The veggie Momos were fantastic and I am pretty sure I am addicted to the Chicken Tikka Masala. My boyfriend had the Lamb Curry and gave it two enthusiastic thumbs up. Our food was ready right when I arrived(no waiting) and it was still super hot — so I know it hadn’t been sitting there waiting for me to pick it up. Also, they were very good with the spice rating — medium was truly medium and mild was truly mild. No need to worry about ordering your food medium and getting something you can’t ingest without breathing fire. I will definitely be back — this is my new go-to takeout place!

Flavorless runny curries!! I have had so much better. Ordered asparagus very good and tikka was decent! Momos were ok some undercooked too. Shrimp curry and chicken curry average so was cauliflower sabzi . Naans were hard and dry!!! Garlic naan was flavorless and like a cracker more than bread, pretty hard to even chew!!! Service was pathetic had to call them for every little thing! We were 7 adults 2 kids they already added gratuity 20 percent with such pathetic service in our bill! The only thing good was their mango ice cream! Never coming back!

I am reviewing the lunch buffet. It is everything I have ever wanted in a buffet. SO delicious. It’s small, but it’s no joke. Every think I tried was absolutely amazing a full of flavor. The dishes that said spicy were actually spicy. I checked in with Unilocal, and got $ 2 off my lunch buffet, making it jsut under $ 10. Today they had a spicy chicken chili, eggplant curry, turkey meatballs, potato curry, 2 kinds of rice, a soup, veggie fritters, and bread. Plus a small salad bar. The only thing I didn’t really care about was the soup. Everything else was to die for. Tip: Check their website, it will tell you what is on the menu each day of the week. I was going to go one day last week but it had some dish with bones and I am NOT a fan of meat on a bone so I skipped it and came today on purpose based upon their menu. Service is fine, they don’t really talk to you but clear your plate promptly. I will definitely be back asap. Next time on a Monday because their Monday menu looks good too!

I came with low expectations given the varied ratings on Unilocal it received. But, the place blew me away. One of the best momos I’ve had. I normally like my meat but we voted to try the veggie momo. Do yourself a favor and get a full order and not make the mistake we did. It is SO good. The filling was perfectly seasoned. The skin was delicately steamed and just perfect in thickness. The sauce it came with(resembled some garlic sauce) was paired with the momo well. I regret I did not get another full plate of yak version. I had the Chicken and Veggie Thukpa(rice noodles with soup), at medium-hot spiciness level. This bowl was hardy and plentiful in noodles, chicken and vegetables. The spice was on point and my mouth was numb from the heat(in an awesome way). My friends got the tiki masala, polak paneer, and lamb curry and they all were very good as well. They were pretty big dishes! They each end up taking half of their orders to go. The masala was creamier than usual but chicken was tender. Garlic naan was thinner than the naan I’m used to. But, it is great in flavor.(Be sure to bring a mint). Service was excellent. The waitress came by and refilled our water cups frequently. The appetizer came somewhat reasonable timing(~15 minutes) given that there were larger tables ahead of us without food yet. Our entrees came about 10 – 15 minutes later. Overall, you won me over Everest! I’ll be bringing my boo over here to try your yak momos sometime soon.

My oh my! I had high hopes for this place but I just couldn’t help myself to try a lot of the items on the menu and that opened the door to an awful experience. The good; + The usual gang of 15 showed up and we were seated within minutes. + The staff were very prompt and service was very courteous. + Good Location and available parking. Now, the rest of the deal; When you come with a group of 15 that willingly order as much variety as possible in order to share with all you can bet you will try almost all the«recommended» and«hyped» selections. But wait… Variety is what we did not get. Almost all the entrees had a sock washing water kind of signature flavor that speaks loud about the type of detergent they use to marinate the food. this made the dishes taste very similar to each other. –The Tandoori chicken tasted flat and dry. –The Paneer(Spinach/Chicken) was too heavy and had the strongest sock water flavor. –We got two samosas to start and they were an exception to the sock wash flavor but upon ordering two more we got one with uncooked dry peas in them. –The Naan or the Rti both seemed to come from the same dough. Were all undercooked and visibly doughy in the inside. For $ 4 you get on piece barely larger than a large pita. The same can be served for $ 1 on the most expensive Naan or Roti serving restaurants. — They took offense in us asking how the taste compares to the more known Indian dishes. «We are Nepalese and our food is way better than Indian» Frowned the manager. Our gang is rarely split over restaurant ratings and this is one of those occasions. 10 of us thought it was just below average and 5 thought it is way down at low rating. Five Star goes for the staff who were too good for the quality and taste of the food. Two stars for the food.

I can almost guarantee that you will not leave Everest hungry. Instead you’ll leave disappointed, pissed off and scratching you head at why people enjoy this place. Actually, I can’t guarantee any of that because the experiences here seem to be all over the map. A little roulette, anyone? We were eyeballing Everest for quite some time and finally decided yesterday was the day we were going to try it. We arrived around 5:15pm and were greeted and seated when we walked in. There were two other occupied tables in the restaurant when we arrived and at this point we were starving. Our waters were filled and we browsed the menu. And browsed the menu. And browsed the menu. Seriously, is someone going to take our order? Sam sent his water back because there was lipstick on the glass but he could have died of dehydration had I not flagged down another waiter awhile after to get a new water. The other guy never came back. I watched the other tables while we were waiting because I’m a creeper. Actually, I just didn’t have anything else to distract my stomach from eating itself. I noticed a waiter removing«clean» plates from table and bringing them new«clean» plates. I quick inspected my table setting. It was kind of disturbing. If your dishwasher is broken, hire a new one. Finally someone comes by. We ordered the Veggie momos, Garlic roti, Sam ordered Tikka Masala and I ordered the Chicken Thukpa. About 15 minutes later our momos arrive. I won’t lie to you, these were super delicious. The dough was inconsistent between each momo, but the flavor was great by far exceeded my expectations. I was happily surprised after waiting for so long for them. I couldn’t wait to try the rest of my food. Hey, where’s our roti? But we did wait. And wait And wait. The restaurant was pretty full at this point and people that arrived a good twenty minutes after us were already getting their food. What the hell? The chef finally starts bringing out huge platters of food and empties them at every table but ours. Why are people that arrived MUCH later than us being served food before us? Sam was ready to get up and leave because we had been sitting there for an hour with nothing to show for it but I said to wait 5 more minutes. We should have left. Our food came out almost right after that and our excitement quickly turned into utter disgust and frustration. The garlic roti had absolutely no flavor and it was drier than paper towel left in the sun for 3 days. Why did this take over half an hour? We shrugged and shoved it aside. Sam was immediately dissatisfied with his tikka masala, especially since the waiter dipped his thumb in it while he was setting it on the table. Sam ignored it out of desperation and moved onto his food. One sip of the broth and one bite of the chicken and he declared it inedible. He said it tasted like watered down cheese wiz and I have to agree. It was bland, watery and hints of processed cheese took over your mouth. Mine was the same story minus the cheese wiz. What was described as «Rice noodle cooked with your choice of the following ingredient and veggie mix(pea, carrot, green & red onion, yellow& red cabbage and broccoli) into a soup with garlic, ginger & spices». It tasted like nothing with a hint of tomato base in the background. It literally had no flavor. I don’t understand how those amazing momos came out of the same kitchen. If there is one thing I’ve learned in the last 5 years of my life it’s that you just don’t fuck with Sam when he’s hungry. You toss some food in the cage and walk away. If he senses your presence he’ll rip you to shreds. I’ve learned this the hard way and I try to pass my wisdom on to everyone I meet. I’ve been left disfigured and in the fetal position on the floor too many times. We flagged a waiter, said we were not satisfied with the service or the food, we weren’t going to eat the entrees and just wanted to leave. The waiter brought back the bill, tossed it on the table without saying anything and then walked off to another table. Sam glanced and was immediately outraged at the $ 40 bill and flagged the waiter down again and told him we weren’t going to pay for the food we didn’t eat. The waiter brings the chef to the table and Sam told him the same thing about the food and the service. He mentioned long wait, the neglectful waiters and described in detail how he felt about the food. The chef it’s how it’s made and we had to pay for it. Sam said«Dafuq?! No, I’m NOT paying for food we didn’t consume.» The chef argued with him for a minute then finally gave in and took what we didn’t eat off the bill. Needless to say, this is a stark contrast from the majority of the other reviewers experiences who praise the food and the staff. Maybe it’s a fluke, maybe it depends on who is working. I don’t know, but if you do decide to come here, I wish you the best of luck and pray to the flavor Gods that you don’t have the same experience as us.
