Name one fun cash only bar. Don’t worry, I’l wait. Friigaards is down the street, lets you open a tab, and way undercharges. Dugout in the middle has a cover on weekends = no go.

Nice dive bar. The service was good. The drinks were Good. The atmosphere is very small town /div-y. We’ll be back… but we appreciate this sort of place.

Small town friendly type bar. I used to avoid the place, but now I find it interesting. The patrons range from 20 somethings to the mid 60’s. There is usually an interesting conversation to listen in on or participate in. Out the back door there is a patio with a large fire pit that’s smoking friendly. Poker games are popular, and on occasion there are some gorgeous young ladies here. One of my favorite bars in fabulous downtown mahtomedi/willernie.

Probably one of the most random divey bars I’ve ever been in. I used to come here for karaōke night when I was in high school and my early years of college with co-workers from my old job. Yes you read that correctly, I did say high school… I was never carded, and probably because this wasn’t the kind of place high school kids would ever really go, so they must have just assumed I was of age. Needless to say, it’s an interesting scene, it’s a total backwoods type of dive with very clear bar regulars, conjure up what images of them you will, but I suggest you best not forget your camo hunting vests and trucker hats for the gentlemen. I don’t say that to insult, that’s just how it is. The people are all Minnesota-nice and karaōke night used to bring out their wild sides. One female regular at karaōke sounded EXACTLY like Janis Joplin, and she rocked the house with her raspy covers! Basically, drinks are cheap and it’s a pretty fun scene if you leave your judgmental shoes at the door. When you see the giant neon flame on the outside, you’ll know you’re in the right place.
