Had an awesome experience at Flicker Meats last week. It was the first time I’d been in there and just stopped on my way home from work to grab something for dinner. I got a beautiful ribeye, but also picked up several different kinds of beef sticks and jerky. The steak was excellent and everyone I shared the jerky with agreed that it’s the best they’ve had with great smoked flavor. But, even better than the food, was the service. The guys working in there were very helpful and incredibly friendly. All around, a five star experience.

Awesome place. Super friendly staff, took us on a mini tour of the shop. Gave us a ton of BIG samples to take home and try. They smoke anything in house for you, you can bring in a turkey or a ham and they’ll smoke it for you. You can buy ribs from them and they’ll smoke them all day and you pick them up just before throwing on your grill at home. Highly recommend this shop.

A friend and I each got a Groupon for Flicker meats last fall. We both got their Grill Box, and I am now a huge fan.
The store is bigger than it looks from the outside. Located in a strip mall, I thought it might be tiny. I was wrong, but it does still feel a little cramped inside. Prices are in line with what I would expect to pay at a butcher shop, and the quality is excellent.

Nice staff and great products. Not cheap, but well worth it for the quality. I shop here often my only suggestion for a better flicker meats is that it takes a minute or two for the staff to greet the customers. I would like them to great me as I walk in (sorry I know this petty, but I am often in a hurry, I want to get in and out).

Got a groupon for Flicker’s Meat Market Jerky Package for $ 25, and it was the best $ 25 ever spent (and I’m a lover of Groupon). You get spicy beef jerky, a bunch of nummy chicken, turkey and beef jerky sticks of a variety of spicy-​levels, and chicken jerky.
Aside from the groupon, I also got some of the beef jerky teriyaki flavor, and the spicy beef jerky and they were also amazing. I will be going back for checking out the pork loins and other meat products. They also have freshly ground local beef, and everyone at the store was super friendly and helpful!
P. S. Added bonus: there are samples to munch on at the store!!!

My grandmother (now passed away, sadly) first took me here. She was born in 1912 – the daughter of a St. Paul butcher. She told me that if you ever want good meat, or something for a special occasion, skip the grocery store and find a local butcher. Unfortunately these days, real, knowledgable, old-​school butchers are so incredibly hard to find. Flicker does it the right way. They can always answer your questions, tell you the difference between cuts of meat, and supply you with some nice specialty stuff as well. It’s nothing fancy, but it doesn’t need to be when the employees know their trade and take pride in their work.

Since I’ve recently gotten into actually cooking, I’ve become slightly obsessed with specialty shops. And Flicker does not disappoint. Walking in, you’ll immediately see that the shop is pretty basic, but everything is fresh and smells amazing. The butchers are top rate, they know how to cook any kind of meat just right — which is great for a girl who couldn’t tell you how to prepare short ribs for the smoker if her life depended on it. Oh, and if you can’t quite put your finger on what you’re hungry for, they’ll steer you towards something fantastic. Love.

Friendly staff, large selection, and quality meats make this my favorite local butcher shop.
I am especially fond of their «meat packs,» where they give you a discount on bulk purchases.
I am a big fan of their smoked cheddar brats. Also, try their smoked chickens and turkeys!
