Hirshfield’s Decorating Center

My husband and I love this place! We bought our first house last fall, and we’re slowly painting every room in it. We thought we knew everything there was to know before we started… how hard could it be? :) Turns out, it’s very hard!
The people here are very friendly and work with you to make sure you have all the supplies you need and that you are choosing the right paint. We always go to Tom when possible — he is very knowledgable and he will «spend your money, but will save you money» (that’s what he says). He helps us decide when we need primer, and which paint is best for us depending on the colors we choose.
They offer eco-​friendly options at some of their stores, and all of their paints are low-​VOC. We have been very happy with the Hirshfield brand of paint, especially the Platinum Ceramic. It is a little more expensive, but it goes on beautifully and we have not been disappointed. Be prepared to wait a little bit, because this place is usually busy (although we are usually there on the weekend). Also, make sure you join the Color Club, because you get special discounts and email notifications of discounts. They also keep track of your colors by room (in their system), so it’s easy to get more if your husband is not very good at estimating how much paint you will need (don’t worry, they’ll help with this too!). :)
