Actually called Hilda’s now… This place is inside an Eastside community building called«Plaza Latina» — there are shops and then this taco restaurant. I am sad to say I ordered a burrito and was not a huge fan of the ingredients ratio, or the $ 8.00 price tag. Feels kind of disappointing, because it would be a great one stop shop place for the people of this community. Bonus: Eastside restaurants this size tend to have a fast turnover rate(going in and out of buisness/changing management, etc.), so maybe soon this place will make some changes… I probably won’t go back otherwise. There are too many other great places in town.

This is one restaurant in a… well, it’s like a strip mall, but the end of the hallway(where you come in) is widened and it’s a restaurant. You can see what it’s like from the windows. There are a couple of stores attached and I can’t remember what they are right now. You walk up to the counter and order; presently they hand you food, you can sit down and eat it or take it home. Order a tamale or five and be sure to ask for the green sauce. It’s not spicy at all, it merely complements the vegetarian tamale perfectly.(A tamale, by the way, is a cylinder of corn mush(not too mushy) around a meat filling. The sweet corn one is just the corn mush. It’s steamed and served in a corn leaf which you’re not expected to eat.) This is a very nice place and if you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop in!
