You know, I’d been hearing from my wife about Leean Chin’s fabulous oyster wings for the better part of a decade. I finally got to try them, and they were just okay. They were really salty for some reason. Maybe it’s a new recipe. A sign on the window said«oyster wings are back.» May be they used to be better. Perhaps it was a fluke. If I’m ever in the area again I might give them another shot.

We went here for a late 3pm lunch, which admittedly wasn’t the greatest idea. The service was fine, but the food was lousy this time around. Ive been to other Leeann Chins, so I wasn’t expecting anything fabulous, but this was disappointing. Everything tasted something between stale and tasteless.

This wasn’t the greatest choice we’ve made to date. We walked in and were confused by the Asian and yogurt combination. The food was not that good, even though what we ordered had just been put out. After we waited for more then a minute at the counter to be acknowledged the lady made sure we knew they were closing in 15 minutes. If that wasn’t enough, she walked by our table whistling while twirling the key around her finger when she went to lock the front door. I wish we would have turned around and left like the 3 people behind us did. The food was 2.5 stars Friendliness — 1

The food is as can be expected for Leann Chin, but the service is really really great for this sort of place. The employees are personable and polite. I very much enjoyed this experience.

Food alone, I give this place a three stars. The food is fairly consistent which a rare occasion of undercooked chicken one time. Its Americanized Chinese food. The food is normally fresh because it does not sit around for long. I do not like the white rice so opt for the noodles or fried rice instead. I love the oyster wings and most of the chicken dishes. Prices are reasonable and check out their specials posted when you become a fan on facebook. The yogurt is a nice addition but I wish they had more flavors than raspberry and lemon but try it, its delish! Why do I give this place four stars then? Its the staff. They are always nice, courteous, never scoffing at my coupons, and always willing to make anything fresh even 15 minutes before closing time. Come enjoy but make sure you save room for lemon yogurt with fruity pebbles on top!!!

If you think this is Chinese food, then you probably think George Bush was a great leader! Suggestion: Go to frozen entrée aisle at Cub and pick out 10 of anything labeled chinese cuisine and call it even. Same anount of grease as a bucket of fries from the state fair.

How do you go wrong with this place? Although it gets tight and busy during the lunch rush… its freaking Leeann Chin’s so it is worth the wait.

Leeann Chin, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. 1. You have the best Mongolian Chicken ever created. 2. Your staff is friendly and upbeat, and at this point actually sit down to talk to me while my cream cheese puffs are being fried. 3. Said cream cheese puffs. 4. Deliciously creamy rasberry yogurt. I hate the fact that you consistently destroy my diet, and I feel kind of terrible that I see Jorge and the guys here more than I see my own mother. I think I may have a Leeann addiction, but sometimes not even a stiff Tanqueray and tonic will fix a bad day at work and I need the comfort food. The service at this location is always great, and nothing makes me happier than the smell of those deliciously sinful calories wafting through the car on my way home to devour them. Also, Leeann Chin died last month; March 13, 2010. This review commemorates you, Leann. Like peanut butter and jelly, your cream cheese wontons completed cable TV. You gave all of us tired, hard-working Americans something to look forward to at the end of the day.

like panda express, only named leann chin. they do have cream cheese puffs here that panda express doesn’t serve and that’s what i was after. the puffs were good, but i prefer the ones at king dong in berkeley. gf thinks leann chin is better than p.e. but i think it’s just a matter of nostalgia.
