Everyone is great here. I tend to get very nervous and tense at the dentist and they are good at helping me relax, explaining what they are doing and why. There is a discount for cash/check which I appreciate, not having dental insurance. I trust Dr. O’Kane and all the hygienists. The hygienists are also efficient and friendly. If they have learned something new about how to brush etc. they pass it on. The office staff is also friendly and remember me when I come in even though it’s six months apart.

Skilled dentists but marred by a complete obsession with filling every empty spot in their calendar and a fixation on revenue. I was a patient about three years… I liked them on the whole but they had this odd way of trying to slot you into rushed appointments(I think because every second without a patient is lost revenue). They would call over and over«We have a spot today in 10 minutes!» and I’d be thinking — I have a job, you know. I can’t just leave. They also had me come in for an appointment they weren’t ready for(stuff wasn’t back from the lab), and so wasted my day(and time off from my job). OK, mistakes happen, but the apology was so half-hearted. C’mon, you cost me a days work. Give me a discount on my next cleaning, a gift-card, or just say«sorry». The office has a kind of perpetual franticness that can be off-putting, too. In short, it feels like everything they do is to maximize billable revenue, and as a patient you begin to feel more like a source of income than a person. Billing is irritating too. Not very helpful resolving problems, hard to reach. And somehow there are always various charges that were not expected. Not big money, but not straightforward and it feels like nickle-and-dime like tactics. Skilled dentists, to be sure. Quality of work is good. But really missing the human touch…
