They simply aren’t an honest company, and they are on the verge of being titled«slum lord» with the horrible way that they neglect repairs on their buildings. I had a really horrible experience with them. When I moved out, they refused to do a walk out inspection with me, lied and said I never returned the keys, and said that there was all kinds of damage that DIDNOT exist. I’m a pretty chill tenant, took care of the place, and hired professional cleaners to clean it every two weeks during my year there and again before move out — it was in better condition than when I moved in but they refused to return even $ 1 of my deposit, and tried to extort money beyond my deposit — then forwarding me to collections for the amount beyond my deposit when I complained about their lack of honesty(even though no judgment was ever issued). My 830 credit score was temporarily damaged because I dealt with a dishonest company. Beware.

Terrible. Ever since this company purchased our building a few months ago, it’s been nothing but amateur hour. They claim to own 35 buildings, and I’m honestly not sure how they’re not bankrupt yet. The first order of business when the company took possession of the building was to raise the rent for everybody immediately. Fine, that’s their right as the building owners. But what have I received for this rent increase? 1.) All of the trees in our yard/common area were cut down a month ago to make way for a proposed parking lot with an unspecified completion date. All I’ve been looking at outside my windows for the last month is an empty yard full of tree stumps and garbage. 2.) They replaced all the entrance doors on a Friday morning, without any previous notice, only to find out that my old key didn’t work anymore. Meaning I was locked out of my apartment building. I went to the management office to get a new key, and was given the half-ass excuse that my old key«should still work». I was given a different key and told to try it and call back. Of course the key that I was given didn’t work, and when I returned to the management office 15 minutes later their door was locked and nobody would answer the phone. Classy. All of this made me over an hour late to work and left me with an increasingly bitter taste in my mouth in regards to this so called«management company». Also, on a related note, I haven’t received any mail for four days because the mailman can’t get into the building since they changed the locks. How cute. And then I received a call asking me to return the key they gave me(that didn’t work) as soon as possible because it was a «personal key». Yeah, I’ll get right on that. 3.) Brushing my teeth in the morning before leaving for work I receive a knock on the door, it’s one of the maintenance guys telling me that the water is going to be shut off for a few hours. I’m going to work, so whatever, but 5 minutes notice is a bit short when you shut the water off. What if I was in the shower? I come home 8 hours later to find I have no hot water. And I still didn’t have hot water the next day either. Over 24 hours without hot water in the middle of winter. Just wonderful. Would I recommend this company? Never. They seem to mess up everything that they touch. It’s been nothing but stress since they took over. Renter beware. Edit: I got the security deposit back without any issues, so I’ll bump them up to two stars.
