It took me 7 days from the date of my install for my DSL Internet to work… Here’s the story: I recently moved to Eagan, MN and ordered Qwest DSL Internet service. I opted to simply have the modem mailed to me so I could install it myself. I figured this would be quick and easy… and I was right. it was. I received my modem on April 13th and within 5 minutes I was up and running at about 7 mbps. 2 days later while I was out of state I checked my voicemail and heard a message from a Qwest tech saying he was at my house setting up my Internet. I immediately called the guy back as I was a bit confused. The guy said his order said that he needed to bring a modem out and install it. He was very confused that I already had Internet service and told me to give him a call if I had any problems. As soon as I got home… I had problems — mainly… no Internet. I called tech support(overseas — not that it really bothers me because those guys can troubleshoot hardware better than some World of Warcraft playing, Cheetoh eating guy that lives with his mom here in the States) and was on the line with them for over 45 minutes with no success. Also, the guy that originally told me to call with any problems never got back to me after I called him. After a few more days a tech came out, called me at work and said it was good to go. I got home that day(the 20th) and still no Internet. Apparently he never checked to see if I really had a connection. I spent another 20 minutes on the phone with tech support and they were able to fix it. Luckily for them, the service is pretty affordable and pretty quick — and their offshore support was actually quite helpful.
