Sticky roll was very very good! Cinnamon roll was okay, but not as good as the sticky roll.

A colleague of mine brought me a buttermilk scone this morning. It was the most amazing scone I’ve ever had EVAR! I’ve never been to Swede Hollow, but it’s definitely on my list now!

I am so happy I stumbled upon this place! I love the atmosphere-cozy but lively at the same time. The lattes are wonderful and beautifully presented. I enjoyed a scone as well. Will definitely return again soon!

We always like to search out coffee shops to try. In route to the Science museum, we Unilocal found this one. Needing both coffee & morning nourishment, this one fit the bill! The miel was probably the best I’ve had yet– and no, not just because it came with a little mini bar of chocolate. My daughters quiche was amazing in flavor and my other daughters baked French toast was fun. Me? Uhm, I went with plain ol’ scrambled eggs and sour dough toast– perfect for my pregnancy taste buds and was less than 4 bucks! Would we come here again? Maybe… if there wasn’t so many other awesome cool coffee shops book marked on our Unilocal list to try first.

On my long boarding trips around the city I usually find nice places to try out. Last summer I found myself long boarding(yes down the huge hill) past this location almost every day. 9 months later I finally decided to try it out and boy oh boy do I wish I would have stopped by earlier. In the words of dj kala I played myself by waiting so long. I got the Mediterranean veggie ½ sandwich and latte and it was delicious! My girlfriend got the hot chocolate and cinnamon roll, to which both she loved. As I’m writing this she takes her last bite of the cinnamon roll and says«umm sooo good!» So it’s save to say this is will be our new favorite spot and I’ll never long board past it without stopping my again.

I fell in love with this café/restaurant. They have really great gluten free bread and the americano with the stick of chocolate is divine. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they care about their place of business. I love the upstair’s vibe and the downstair’s Windows. The veggie wild rice soup is addicting.

Quiche, biscuits, and cobbler were fantastic. Love the atmosphere. But don’t come here because its small and I don’t want it to get so popular I can’t patronize them anymore.

I love this place. When ever I am cold and down there’s nothing that can cheer me up more than a lovely warm hot cocoa from Swede Hollow Café. And every once and awhile when I’m feeling especially good I treat myself to a wonderful tasting cinnamon roll which are just severely scrumptious. I must give it five stars for its good tasty pastries and delectable beverages.

Great place for coffee alongside breakfast or lunch! Seating is very limited, especially during morning/afternoon rush times. During the summer they have the patio open — which opens up a lot more indoor seating — filled with beautiful flowers(and bees!). Their spinach and bacon quiche is TODIEFOR. For lunch, the turkey and cheddar sandwich is usually my go-to. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and salads also. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients! Don’t forget to try a maple or pumpkin cookie(or any of their other sweets, really), you won’t regret it.

I’ve been here numerous times and always enjoy it. They have great fresh coffee here(served with a bar of dark chocolate!) and very yummy breakfast and sandwich options. It’s close to where my parents live, so I like to come here to grab a bite to eat or have coffee with a friend and catch up when I’m in town. It is a very community friendly café and is always bustling with regulars. There’s a garden in the back with some outdoor seats. This is the quintessential go to local spot in the neighborhood.

Great joint, interesting building and area of the city. The have a back garden outside with seating and comfortable inside as well. The staff was incredible — knowledgable, professional and friendly. I ordered the poppyseed scone and macchiato. The scone was maybe the best I’ve ever had, crusty and fresh. The macchiato was good+ but not 5 star. Espresso was tasty but the foam was a wide miss. My gut tells me next time 5 star.

I have had the pleasure of discovering this Eastside gem recently and although I am late to the party — I absolutely join in on the chorus of approving reviewers here. I especially love the carefully prepared salads –Gorgonzola, Chopped Italian, and the Apple Walnut –are nothing short of divine! Combine that with quality coffee, mind numbingly scrumptious chai(I love the sliver of chocolate the serve on the rim), friendly service, a casual vibe, gorgeous courtyard seating and a coming upper level expansion and you have a classic coffeehouse that hits all the right notes. Play on Swede Hollow, play on!

The bagels are amazing. Made fresh, New York style. Only on Thursdays and Fridays I’m told. We haven’t been here in a while(if they were open on Sunday mornings we would probably be here a lot more), but we will definitely be back.

I got the caramel sticky buns, and man were they huge, and delicious. Definitely worth stopping by and grabbing a few. They were still fresh and warm when I got them, so the bread was soft and the caramel and sugar were gooey deliciousness! There was street parking, but the café is on a very busy street that runs directly into DT St. Paul. It’s a quaint little place with some seating by the windows. The only issue I had was the pricing. I paid about $ 14 for four of those sticky buns. They didn’t come cheap, but they are worth it!

What a nice place! Good was great, helpful and pleasant staff along with excellent food and coffee. Looks to be expanding seating which is a good thing. Plenary of out door seating in a garden setting. Will become a regular. Did I mention the cinnamon rolls are to die for?

Love this beautiful neighborhood jem. Your coffee comes with a stick of dark chocolate — which is just fabulous. Interior gets pretty busy in the morning and on the weekends, but they have this sweet outdoor area! Amazing coffee and quiches!

After having lunch in the area, I(finally) dropped by Swede Hollow Café to check it out and finish some work. Glad I did! This cozy space screams«neighborhood joint,» with really cool art for sale hung on the wall, locals chatting up a storm, and professors from Metropolitan State talking about new ideas and the like. I got myself a beautifully browned in-house made bagel that came with some standard cream cheese and washed that all down with an earthy chai coupled with a thick little bar of chocolate. Both were reasonably priced, too. I included a dollar or two tip, and everything only set me back a little over $ 8. I enjoyed my snack, while I sat there for a couple hours pounding out some work. I had no problems with the wifi. Other cool things: –They’re building a community garden. Super awesome. –It’s really small, so going during peak hours may not be wise. Perhaps it’s a better«to-go» place. –The music isn’t too loud, and they also play some really dope funk! –Super nice people. –Only one bathroom, so wait your turn! –Ample parking on the street, but maybe not right outside of Swede Hollow. –The quiche usually has nuts, so be careful for those that have nut allergies.(Like me.) If I lived in the neighborhood or even somewhat close by, I would see myself as a regular.

Hot chocolate served with chocolate stir sticks. What could be better? Seriously. I’ve been here a few times. It’s cozy, homey, warm and welcoming. It’s a bit of a drive for me as I live 30 miles away but I really like this place.

Went here for lunch with some co-workers. I love cute mom and pop type of looking places and really wanted to like this more. We must have went on an off day — there were 7 of us and I think we might have overwhelmed the cashier. It wasn’t even that we needed the orders on the same ticket or anything, but definitely we were missing orders and various food items. Took a bit longer than usual to get everyone’s food. They have seating inside the café as well as seating outside(weather permitting). The day we visited it was still nice enough to sit outside — -but the bees thought so as well. We almost became swarmed with bees so we promptly moved inside. As far as the food goes, the sandwiches are ok – nothing spectacular. The soups and the quiche are very good though! I hope that next time I visit that my experience will be much better.

Been to this place many times, and it’s always fantastic. Everything they serve is homemade. As other reviewers have said, the quiche of the day is always amazing, and they serve a big ‘olé slice of it, a he-man portion(for those of you macho guys who would be scared to order quiche). I’ve also had amazing lunches and desserts here. I’ll never forget one time we went to Swede Hollow on a Sunday, and found out they were closed. My kids had their little noses pressed up against the glass. As it turns out, the owner and a few staff were inside baking, and when they saw us, they invited us to come in and eat whatever they had on hand. They were making a mixed berry crumble dessert, and it was smelling sooo good, we asked if we could have some of that, and they happily obliged. OMG it was out of this world good. Anyway, this is also a terrific little café, and they make killer espresso and coffee drinks, so it’s a good place to chill out and people-watch, chat with friends, or read. This place kinda reminds me of a European café, friendly, low key, with great homemade food and awesome coffee.

Everything looked good, but they have no control over the line and it was total chaos. I understand that you can’t control when people arrive, so when the place became overrun with some bicycle club, it wasn’t really their fault… but they did nothing to help figure it out. You couldn’t move, people were spilling stuff all over each other, and they just acted like everything was cool… bad move… never going back here!

Since discovering Swede Hollow, I’ve bid an official goodbye to Starbucks and have limited my drives to Kopplin’s. I’ve been here three times in the past week. For coffee. For coffee and lunch. For coffee and breakfast. Yes, the coffee is good. But everything else is okay(including the bacon caramel roll that has Unilocalers salivating). Admittedly I was at A Baker’s Wife recently and now I’m ruined; ABW is my new metric for baked goods. Still, Swede Hollow is homey, the service is great, and there’s a lot of seating outside for good conversations and even better coffee.

I stopped at Swede Hollow Café to have their famous Maple Bacon Pecan Caramel Roll, a great cup of coffee and some breakfast. I left having achieved 2 out of 3. I walked in at about 10:30am and must have hit a little lull in business. It’s a cute little place but I’ll have to admit that I was a little confused when I walked in. They have a coffee/drinks menu and a lunch menu up on the back wall above the counter but no mention of any breakfast. So when I got to the register I ordered a coffee and their last Maple Bacon Pecan Caramel Roll and figured I’d figure out breakfast while enjoying the roll and a cup of joe. I never did see anything that talked about breakfast items. I did see a few types of quiche in the display case so I guess that must be the breakfast options. The roll was as amazing as it sounds — I mean come on… bacon…caramel.pecans. How could it not be great. And it was. I’m drooling now as I type. The coffee was great too. Next time I guess I’m going to have to ask about breakfast.

I had heard of this place forever but since they are closed on Sundays, my brunch day, I just had never gotten to it. Today, however, it was like my car drove me that direction. and with a parking spot right in front of the door waiting for me, I had to finally go in! I arrived at 1:30 and there were several tables open and it was quiet. I was a little skeptical because of all the reviews indicating how crowded and scrunched in you feel. Granted, they closed in a half hour but maybe that’s the secret. Maybe. just maybe this is a perk to not being a morning person. My breakfast time is way past most normal people’s breakfast time. I did not get a coffee drink but I saw them preparing a latte and it looked delicious. I ordered a few bacon caramel maple cinnamon rolls and a slice of the«hashbrown«casserole». I love me some potatoes so I had to try it. I took it all home and Ci and I started tasting. The rolls were divine! A meal in itself. I am certain you have almost a full day’s worth of protein from the pecans and bacon. The hashbrown«pie» was so delicious as well. A perfect combination of flavors. The two workers I encountered were delightfully pleasant. I sure wouldn’t be if I had been working since early morning but they were courteous, brought my nicely wrapped to-go bag to me instead of yelling at me to come get it like so many other places do, and they smiled and seemed happy to be there! I can not wait to go back and try a latte and a piece of quiche!

Although a little cramped inside, Swede Hollow is a little treasure near government offices and Metro State. Their coffee and baked goods are worth the visit. Update: There’s a hot dude that works there.
