The storefront somewhat looks like a place where hobbits would buy their wine. Is that a good thing? Absolutely. Like the name says, this place is small.(Maybe eight feet wide and twenty feet deep?) I don’t know much about wine, since I get sick when I drink reds due to the sulfate, but I dropped by looking for a nice bottle of white to go with some shrimp pasta my girlfriend and I cooked up. The only person working there immediately greeted me, asked about my preferences, and recommended his three favorites bottles. I went with the one made by Ippolito 1845. No pretentiousness. No eye-rolling. Just very friendly and helpful. Not to mention, the price was reasonable.(Maybe around $ 20?) Other cool tidbits: –Wines are organized by country. –They carry local brands like Famiglia Meschini. –Has a surprisingly solid beer selection. I think the neighborhood has a gem in The Little Wine Shoppe!

This is an impressive little shop in an impressive neighborhood. The selection is outstanding and continually changing but keeping best selling favorites. The difference between a shop like this and the discount warehouse concept is personal service. Ask any detailed question and the staff(which usually consists of the owner) will direct you to a very specific choice of wines. The larger stores tend to place their inventory on display. They eat up space by placing a lot of the same brand across making it appear the selection in the store is larger than it really is. A shop like this may have just one bottle or two of each selection, but you can ask for more bottles and they will retrieve for you. It is easy to browse by price as the lower priced wines are on the lower shelves and ascent upward by price. There are wine tasting events from various vendors which can be hit or miss so I tend to avoid those events, even though there is a discount applied to featured wines during an event. There is limited selection of high-end beers which tend to be more pricey than other shops, so I stick with wine purchases only.

I came in needing several bottles in a hurry for some gifts. Pam found me the perfect wines under budget, she was super friendly and had me out the door lickety split. I will send everybody here. It’s the perfect spot to snag a cheap bottle of red for dinner tonight or to buy a case of something expensive for your fancy friends. Skip the big chain(with clerks that refuse to make eye contact) and support local business owners who care about their customers. If you want to know more about wine but are scared off by the pretentious crowd, this is the perfect place to learn. Pam and Austin are super knowledgeable and passionate, always ready to share and they specialize in wine from smaller vineyards. I love getting to support local, community-focused entrepreneurs who choose to buy from other independent entrepreneurs dedicated to their craft.

I’m feeling generous, so I’m going to write a review of The Little Wine Shoppe. You just can’t beat this tiny little store. Little is an understatement! It’s basically a small aisle, with wine everywhere. Plus exceptional, personalized customer service. Want to treat yourself tonight? They know just the bottle. Just buying for cooking? They also have recommendations. It also feels a bit high class, not boozy like when you head to Zipp’s.

Little but great! I bought a friend a gift card here earlier in the year. I’ve been trying to get back to there to a tasting or to do some shopping and this last weekend was my opportunity. We contacted the owner and she offered to do a tasting for our women’s group of about 20ish. The people doing the tasting could not have been nicer! They explained everything we tried and gave us the background on each of them. It was kind of fun because after a taste she would have us shout out what we smelled or tasted. It was interactive and very fun! I highly recommend signing up for their mailing list to attend one of the tastings. If you can’t make a tasting, still stop in. It’s nice to support a local businesses. I walked with 2 great bottles — one white and one Spanish red blend — both of which I can’t wait to crack into. Great prices, local business, with friendly owners and staff!

The Little Wine Shoppe is a great place to get a good bottle of wine for $ 20 – 25 or less. Of course they have the more expensive bottles, but they pride themselves on offering wonderful bottles at reasonable prices(as low as $ 5 – 10). All of the employees really know their wines and offer great advice for any occasion or pairing! They are located in a cute neighborhood that you can get a bite to eat or do some shopping in after getting a bottle of wine! Make sure to get on their email list for free monthly tastings(with discounts on offered selections) and a 20% off coupon!

This has to be one of the cutest wine shops in the Twin Cities. It’s a small place, but they have lots of great wine at reasonable prices and very knowledgeable staff. Most wine you can find for $ 10-$ 20 and they even have bottles as cheap as $ 6. My kind of store! Sign up for their e-mails for 20% off coupons and notice of their monthly in-store wine tastings, a great way to try lots of new wine and get a discount on the bottles they are tasting that night.

This place is so dang cute-all of St Anthony Park is-I always feel like I’m wandering off the street into this little village where everyone smiles, eats organic, and spends lots of time reading books from the independent bookstore and drinking coffee. Anyway, it’s small, adorable, and the guy that owns it knows what he’s talking about-and makes you feel good for not shopping at Cub Liquor or something. When I was in there he seemed to know every customer(besides me) by name, and was talking to one about how he was going to order a case of some Portugese something or other for him. This place should be a staple of life. Good sales too!

Perfect sized wine shop. Not too much to overload you, just enough to get a great bottle of wine. Prices and wines range from«cheap spaghetti night wine» to «very special occasion wine.» Some Wednesday nights they have wine tastings. And they’re helpful and nice. A person might even dare to say that this place is cute.

My favorite place to buy wine. Very small — but great wine selection. The service is spot on. They also have in store wine tastings(paired with a sale on the wines they are sampling).

If there is only one reason I like my neighborhood of St. Anthony Park, it’s because of this little gem called The Little Wine Shoppe. It’s one of those places you could miss by blinking, probably on your way to Mufaletta. As a new 21-year-old I didn’t have any expectations for what a wine shop should be — but I feel that I have been spoiled very early on in my ‘of-age’ life. As mentioned by Mark, the owner Jeff is a database of knowledge and is completely approachable. Rarely(in my experience) will you be in there with another customer, so you are free to ask as many questions and receive as much attention as you want. I spent this summer living on an organic vegetable farm where we drank ‘La Vieille Ferme’. Coming back to the Cities, I thought the stuff would be hard to come by. But sure enough, The Little Wine Shoppe, in all it’s quaintness — had it. Simplicity is the reason why I love it so much. A small space, simple selection, charming neighborhood, a knowledgeable owner. What more does a wine store need? Also, make sure not to miss the great bookstore next door(Micawbers.)

This is a great neighborhood wine shop. Jeff, the owner, is a fantastic resource to ask for a good interesting bottle of wine. They carry out of the way wines for a very very reasonable price. Great job!

The accurately named The Little Wine Shoppe is a single aisle of great wines. The small size means there is a limited number of wines brands and style on display at a time, but due to constant turn over there are new labels every visit. This consistent stream of new labels makes this shoppe the first place I look for a gift wine. The owner is a very approachable man who puts a lot of effort into his stock. While maintaining as many different wine styles as possible he also targets quality labels not seen elsewhere in the area. Unfortunately this variation in stock shows the downside of such a small location as you will occasionally not find a wine which you purchased there previously. It is worth noting that they stock a handful of vegan wines, but options are limited. Along with the wines there is a small selection of spirits which focus on neighborhood favorites and Minnesota based brands, but if you are looking for something harder than wine I would suggest elsewhere. There is also a stock of standard mid range ales and beers the most popular of which are available chilled.
