Absolutely a great neighborhood and beyond store. Beyond because I’m sure there some who travel out of their way to visit this treasure. A family owned neighborhood market with a Deli and Butcher shop. Try their own cut up chicken, not the brand shipped in from Ohio. There are frozen pasties from Florence, Wi. Fresh sandwiches to go with hot coffee up front. The Deli area offers Panini sandwiches made while you wait. They have the traditional brands of groceries and small quality labels of items such as mustard and sauces and cheese. It’s crowded but well organized. The checkout is indeed speedy. They use one register but as soon as there are a few people lined up someone quickly opens the second terminal. Employees are friendly and helpful. If I can’t find a particular item someone will actually walk me to the area and find it and hand it to me, rather than shout to go to aisle four like other business do.

A holdout of what the neighborhood grocer used to be… and should STILL be. A superb butcher counter, and you can f ind pretty much whatever you need here. Super friendly staff and a community spirit. They pack an amazing variety of stuff into a small space, reasonably priced for the convenience and quality they bring to a local establishment.

This is a great little neighborhood market. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their prices are a little bit higher, but every once in a while I find a good deal. Their cold sandwiches are surprisingly filling, tasty, and cheap. There are also paninis in the back that they will press on the spot for you. The brats from the meat market are a good choice as well.

So convenient and wonderful! This is a great stop when you just don’t feel like going to the«real grocery store». They really do have nearly everything I want, at decent prices, even. Great service, a small but adequate supply of fresh veggies… I just love Speedy Market.

Love this place! It looks like your average corner grocery store(meaning that you wouldn’t want to buy anything but overpriced toilet paper), but it has an amazing and affordable meat counter. Great veggie selection too.

Wow. I am in this neighborhood often, so I normally grab a snack at Dunn Brothers, but the other day I just wanted a soda so I popped into Speedy Market. What a surprise! I was expected a run of the mill convenience store, and this is way more than that. There is a ton of produce, a little deli, and a great selection of all sorts of grocery items. I was especially happy to see how many local products they carry, like Joia soda or Killebrew Root Beer. I’m so happy I finally gave this place a shot, because it will now be a part of my daily routine.

Behind the counter, the man asks, «Would your daughter like a lollipop?» I say, «She would but I wouldn’t.» My kid is looking at the greeting cards with dogs on them. She’s two, she has no idea what a lollipop is. A man behind us is buying a free-range turkey though it’s well past Thanksgiving. I’m getting TP, Liberté yogurt and dried chanterelles because they’re cheaper here than anywhere else. «But they’re small!» He shows me a conic dark green styrofoam lollipop tree with tiny tootsie-pops sticking out — most of them are gone. I shrug and hold my kid up, she is mystified but picks out a chocolate one. She sings, «Sanksyou.» She has an idea that this is probably good. Later at home, she tells her dad, «The man at the store gave me a chocolate on a stick!» That’s the Christmas season at the Speedy Mart. What everyone else said — this place makes grocery shopping pleasant. The only thing they don’t have is frozen pizza dough. But they have everything you need to make it, and any pizza toppings and sauces you’d want. I haven’t noticed it as any more expensive than any other store — especially if you factor in the time and stress savings of not trekking to Cub or Rainbow.

I love this store. It looks like a convenience store from the outside, but it is actually a small grocer. It’s not in my neighborhood so I’ve only been a few times, but my good friend lives nearby and it’s so convenient when we need extra OJ for our brunch-time mimosas or meat for grilling, whatever. They actually have wonderful fruits and veggies(displayed outside in the summer) and a nice meat department too. Though the dry goods might be a little pricier than Cub, it’s surprisingly affordable. And more importantly, it’s actually pleasant to shop here, and that’s priceless to me.

I despise grocery stores. Seriously. However, I ENJOY shopping at Tim & Tom’s because they have quality foods, service, fresh ingredients and really take pride in their area. They have a wonderful meat selection and always have a helpful and insightful staff. While this is a small grocer, it’s also independent in the neighborhood of St. Anthony Park and is close to several other independently owned businesses. Their prices can be higher when it comes to crackers or cereal, but their vegetable and meat selection can’t be beat in this area.

Tim and Tom’s is as good as it gets for a friendly neighborhood market. The meat counter is excellent. I have purchased their homemade brats on many occasions and they are excellent. Great for grilling and great flavor. Yes, their selection is smaller, but I always find what I need and the prices are very fair. I sometimes find better deals here that at Cub. Tim and Tom’s is one big reason why I wish I still lived in the St. Anthony Park area.

Best neighborhood grocery store. The owners work behind the meat counter and dole out some great meat products. This place seems to have everything. It reminds me a bit of the Harvard st. Market by the U of Mn except Speedy has great produce and fresh meats.
