Went to this location thinking it had to be better than Midway. Not the case. Next door to one of those«tank you, come again”-marts with homeless people camping out on the sidewalk. I was pleasantly surprised by the elegance of the employee who I saw smoking pot outside on the side of the building. Classy. This location looks like a prison on the inside as well. I think there were more cameras that there were sq ft in this location. i understand the concept of saving a few bucks on phone repair, but at what cost to your physical safety and mental dignity? I would only consider there to be «Bike Parking» if you didn’t want you bike anymore. I feel like it would get stolen fairly quickly in this neighborhood. I give up on WOW.

i brought in my smart phone with some water damage hoping to have it repaired or at least retrieve my data. world of wireless was so helpful and honest with me about what they could or couldn’t do with my phone. they tried several different things(and had to order a few parts) but when none of those things worked, i was not charged for parts or labor. everyone was knowledgable and helpful and i was able to get a new phone for an insanely reasonable price — they even gave me a discount because none of the repairs worked. a new phone at verizon wireless would have cost me almost $ 600, overall costs ended up being a small fraction of that. my only concern was that i didn’t hear from them immediately after the part came in, but once i called to ask after my phone, i was moved to the front of the line and by the next day, everything was straightened out. i would highly recommend anyone to this company, they do great work! they will give you a fair price and good service!

Y’know what a baby does with a pacifier? I will not use that word here, in the interest of decorum. It comes to mind, though. It comes to mind when I think about the mood in the place. There was a sorta-big line and two folks working at the registers(more on them in a moment). Every last customer was sullen, angry, or bored. I used to work in a café where we were told to talk to the folks in line even if we couldn’t help ‘em yet; no such luck here. One simple«Be with you in a moment» with a smile would have done wonders. But no. Not one of the three transactions I heard was resolved with a happy customer. Now, again, I’ve been trained that you never just say ‘no’ to a customer. You may have to say, «I’m sorry, we will not be able to blahdeblah today, but perhaps you could option one or option two.» These guys? Just«We can’t blahdeblah.» Another unhappy customer. Next please. When it was my turn, I handed my iPod to the guy and told him what was damaged about it, and I heard they fix iPods, and could they do anything about mine? *hopeful smile* The guy took it into the back room. Twenty minutes later he came back out and said, sullenly, «We can’t fix these.» That’s it. No offers for anything else he could do, no suggestions to go to the Apple store, just a big NO. Not even a «thank you.» Not even a smile. I can’t hang this whole review on the customer service. A friend bought three, er that should be THREE! different phones from them; they were ALL. DAMAGED. She related this exchange to me(this was in the Snelling store): Her: How could you sell me this phone? The guy at World of Wireless: It makes calls, doesn’t it? Her: It doesn’t ring! He offered to fix it for eighty dollars, but that’s really her story. The whole thing makes me think this place is more of a scam than a business. And the pop machine was broken.
