Decent enough chicken, it was juicy. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No, not even close but better than fast food fried chicken. I like that it’s cooked to order. I guess I prefer chicken that has a crunchier skin with more flavor. Mashed potatoes were good.

Best fried chicken in the Area. Prices are better then fast food places we all know well and the chicken coop knocks their food out of the park. Staff are friendly helpful and patient. Call to order it takes 15 mins and they are popular. I would recommend this place to everyone. They also have fantastic seafood and appetizers. Love this place they definitely will be our regular and only place to get fried chicken and seafood.

Seriously the best chicken I’ve ever had. They make each order fresh and its best to call ahead. Their chicken is as moist as can be and very lightly breaded. Sides are amazing also. Mac and Cheese has green and red peppers which was a essay surprise!

The fried okra! Ughhh so good! I am never disappointed when I order from the coop. Everything I’ve tried has been awesome and the prices are even better. Love.

We liked the chicken and green beans and slaw the most. We will go back some time for sure. It’s worth stopping and eating outside if it’s nice out.

I’ve been coming here since they were featured in St. Louis Magazine a few years ago. It’s my family’s favorite fried chicken. It’s perfectly fried(I never have to order it extra crispy the way I like). The seasoning is spot on(slightly salty), the breading is not to much… it’s never greasy. Just a great piece of fried chicken. My absolute fave. My biggest gripe has to be the sides they offer. Nothing to write home about there. I have gone so far as to buy my chicken there and make my own sides when I get home. If you have to choose one go with the mashed potatoes. Everything else I’ve tried including the fried okra(how do you mess that up?) is lackluster. Overall, if it’s a Sunday or you’re in the area I strongly encourage you to give them a try. Really hard to find a better piece of fried chicken anywhere.

Very good fried chicken. Had potato salad and green beans as sides — potato salad was better than the green beans. Suggest calling ahead to place order(they told me 25 minutes and it was ready when I got there). Note the menu on Unilocal is incorrect. I will post picture of menu.

Amaizing! Driven by this place countless times first time here and I am hooked. ordered the three peace with two sides and everything was delish! I arrived about 30minutes after they opened and they did not have the mac&cheese or coleslaw ready yet. so if I had a suggested improvement it would be to note the menus or prep that deliciousness day prior!

Wow. I feel very embarrassed that I had not tried this place yet. First off, It’s great, Go there! Nothing really much else to say, but I’m sure I will find something. It was our first time, and we called ahead. They(woman on phone, she was very nice and patient with me) said it would be ready in 25 mins. And it was. It’s in this small building in/on a parking lot. It just kind of makes me go, «What is that?» «Is that even open!?» that and my basic stupidity kept me from tasting chicken perfection! All joking aside, I didn’t quite realize chicken could taste that different. I’ve eaten chicken from all the basic places,(Lee’s, KFC, etc) but this stuff is so good! To me it is like a garlic/creamy/salty taste. Maybe buttermilk batter? Not sure, but wow it is good. We cried a little after we ate all ours. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to the sides. We had mac n cheese(Good, but dry and not too much flavor), beans(just good and plain beans) cole slaw(a bit vinegar tasting, wife didn’t like it, but I did) and green beans(these were probably the best, good and meaty/smokey flavor). But really, don’t get sides, just get more chicken, because I guarantee you, you will want more! We will FORSURE be back! If you are wanting chicken, and you have time, GOTHERE! Catfish will be my next purchase. UPDATE: A few weeks after the first visit we went back. I did try the catfish. It was okay. The second time around wasn’t quite as impressive, but it is still very good chicken.

We live in the city and this place was recommended by a co-worker. Since it was my day off me and my gf decided we would drive out there. So glad we did. We usually go to Hodack’s for fried chicken but this was definitely worth the drive. We both got the two breast dinner with two sides. The wait was about 20 minutes and it was worth every second. The chicken was done perfectly and the sides were delicious(mashed potatoes and baked beans). We also ordered the cream corn nuggets, jalapeño peppers and hush puppies. All the them were fried to perfection and awesome. I knew we would have leftovers and I am glad we did so I could enjoy some of the chicken later. The girl that waited on us was super nice and very informative. She stated that they make everything there. She even asked how everything was after we got our food. The place is small and sits behind the car wash on Church Street. Like one of the other Unilocalers said, they don’t have any seating other than the two tables on the side of the building. We went with the intention of sitting there but the rain forced us into the car but the food was so good we had to eat it there. Everything was priced cheaply and we will be going back the next time we want fried chicken. They do take debit cards and saw what were probably a lot regulars that called ahead to pick up take out. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Best fried chicken in St. Charles County. Yes it is a shack, take it home to eat it. The chicken is cooked to order so call ahead and place your order and don’t plan to eat it on the drive home unless you want blisters on your tongue, it is HOT! It will stay hot until you get home unless you live in Edwardsville. My only complaint is their rolls, they are good, but they are small, so if you like a lot of bread you may want more than one.

Great chicken — moist and crispy with a lot of flavor. My parents stopped making fried chicken at home and just go here when they want some good fried chicken fast. Most of the sides are great too. I’m a sucker for fried okra, and they don’t disappoint. The mac n cheese, however: meh, blech, and no thank you. Thankfully, they have so many other options that the mediocrity of the mac n cheese doesn’t so much matter. Love this place.

Really, really… Well I knew this place looked like a shack, but that is the part of the deal here. It is just like homemade fried chicken. Love it! In fact we are having it tonight…

This place is a shack, but don’t let that deter you… the food is surprisingly good, fresh and inexpensive. This is fried chicken with a lighter coating than you might expect from visiting places such as Lee’s or even(shudder) KFC — still crispy, still delicious, but not that heavy. A two-piece white meat(breasts) with sides(baked mac and cheese includes peppers for a kick; mashed potatoes are standard-issue chicken restaurant side, kind of starchy, but people love them) usually equals leftovers — it’s a LOT of food for around $ 6. They have a wide variety of sides including baked beans, fries, cole slaw, potato salad, etc. And don’t forget starters… the hush puppies(5 for $ 1) are not to be missed. SOGOOD. The creamy corn nuggets are delicious — and you get 14 of them for $ 3. They also have items including fried pickle spears, southern fried okra and jalapeño poppers(and the poppers are 2 for 40 cents!) Go now, and — if you’re in a hurry — order ahead, because everything is cooked to order. Wait is usually about 15 – 20 minutes from order to ready, especially if they’re busy, which they get — so we call ahead and pay/pickup at their drive-thru. One note: they have a couple of small tables outside, but other than that, no seating.
