Shop-N-Save

People here are very nice! Especially Lisa from the Dili! I like to go get fresh fry chicken here.

Always staffed with friendly, helpful employees. Never have had to wait long in checkout line. These folks go out of their way to help the customers.

Finished a work assignment in the area yesterday at 5 p.m. and needed to get to a dinner party in Benton Park. I stopped here to get imbibements — hoping everything would stay chilled for the drive.
Well, I got a little sidetracked and got a few more things. But I had to be careful not to get perishables, since everything was going to sit in the car for a while.
This is a clean store. Wide aisles. Aisles marked clearly. I found cold beer, and chilled wine of the desired label and bouquet.
I could have done a heck of a lot more damage to my checkbook, but I wasn’t there to lollygag.
I’d been told that on Thursdays if you spend $ 50, you get $ 10 off. That didn’t happen for me. I wonder if it excludes imbibements! ‘Cause I spent plenty more than $ 50.

Of all the grocery stores in St. Louis and the surrounding area, Shop ‘n Save is probably my least favorite, but it’s still a whole lot better than anything Jewel or Dominick’s can offer up in Chicago. As a result, I’m thinking solid 3.5 but giving Shop ‘n Save the benefit of a 4 star review due to partly to sentimental reasons and partly due to having a good variety of items. It’s so close and convenient when I come back home to visit, and it has self check out lanes that consistently work. Just don’t go on Thursdays (coupon Thursday) if you like yourself and your sanity.
