Steak ‘n Shake

The place usually has dirty dishes on the tables and the floor is dirty, no matter what time of day you go there. The food is either undercooked or overcooked and the portions have gotten so small you practically have to pick up the hamburgers with tweezers! You can see through the burgers — and they are greasy. The only good thing about Steak ‘N Shake is their shakes are still really good, but you can order those takeout and not have to see the dirt and the dirty-​looking staff. We don’t go inside any more. Yuk.

Terribly long wait every time I come to this location. As this is the only on that is somewhat close to my residence, and I adore steak n shake I will now be making a longer drive for quicker and better service.

I can not even believe the horrific service we got at this particular Steak ‘n Shake. We went inside the restaurant and ordered our food. It was taking a really long time. When we spoke up you would not even believe what they said to us. «The people who sit down and eat, and the people in the drive through get priority over people getting takeout.». WHAT??? So basically you told my family we are not your priority. Then when we got our food it was ice cold. The bun to our burgers were actually cold to touch. Unreal. Horrible. NEVER. AGAIN.

It is fast food with table service. The shakes are good and they have a great variety. It does take long at times to get one not sure how it works. All in all we get decent service at the Jungermann and Sue Mandy locations.

The table service is a nice touch, but surprising for the 50’s styling they have going. Be seated, order and pay at the register: diner style.
The steakburgers are tough, and feel like they are filled with filler: not like a good meaty texture and far from juicy. The fries are shoestring, but they were cold and no real taste.

What else can you say about Steak N Shake ! Awesome, Just Awesome. I had no problem at this location. They’ve been in Business since 1934, that in itself, is just awesome. Steakburgers — Great !, French Fries — Great, Shakes — Fabulous !, Chili — Awesome !!, 24 hrs open !! — Awesome, Even the Coffee is fantastic. My service here was very good, even during the late hours I was there. The Atmosphere is always Nostalgic !!
I grew up in St. Louis so now that I live in Washington, It is a «Must» to go to Steak N Shake when I’m home visiting. You don’t know what you miss until it’s gone !! My one comment for Steak N Shake in general… Can we make it to the West Coast, (Seattle), Sometime during my Lifespan ???

Had to wait for nearly 12 minutes on a shake (which was not mixed thoroughly) and a small fry (which was cold).
