Food was amazing! There was not one thing that we did not like. Only drawback I had was that the waitress was spread waaaay to thin. She was covering maybe 10 tables at once and not really able to give each one the attention they all deserved. I would absolutely go back here though. The waitress was not bad by any means I just kind of felt bad for her bc she was slammed. I suggest you try to oysters, crab legs, smoked fish spread and stuffed shrimp. We will be back! Thanks for the great food!

This place is home good! Portions are great and I really like the atmosphere! From the outside this place screams dive! I’m a fan of almost everything here! Great drinks too! My only complaint is the place seems cramped but other than that it’s great, a must if your in the area

Oysters –delicious. Clams-delicious. Bay scallops on rice –delicious(a lot of scallops!). I loved this shack. Wonderful last delicious meal parting Florida.

Hole-in-the-wall feel. When they say shack they absolutely mean shack. Prices are reasonable. I ordered the blackened fish sandwhich. It wasn’t bad. The biggest serving per dollar seems to be the clam strips which my friend ordered. It comes with a salad which is just cut up lettuce for the most part.

Ordered the broiled shrimp, white fish, and scallops with a baked potato last week. It was okay, not great. Ate the whole thing bc I was starving. Not a big enough portion for the price. Also they were out of crab claws and stone crabs! What’s the point of going then? Server was nice and the place was crowded and small. Definitely a hole in the wall. I’ll drive out to the coast to get better seafood.

Welp only reason we went to this place was to eat what they boast is their specialty… BLUECLAW… and there were NONE… and there was no snow crab either! It’s beyond me why you would boast crab as your specialty when your supplier hasn’t brought you any in a month! Aside from that we had the gator bites, catfish, jalapeño poppers, mussels with garlic and butter… you can tell they use fake butter sauce for the mussels… but it was good anyway!, the jalapeño poppers were great, catfish was… okay, I’ve had alot better, gator bites were standard! Fairly dirty place but that’s part of the charm Staff for the most part was friendly… our waitress was a little crat ch ety at first but warmed up and the rest of the staff was all smiles Suggestion to management… you need a better more consistent supplier and if «the water is cold» you still need to have crabs available if that’s your specialty wetter they are more expensive or not… that’s the cost of running business

I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. Food took little longer and my fish came out little dry. The bed of rice was horrible. Salad is lame. It was a busy time but food should not suffer. Yes, I like the place how it’s set up and location. Server was nice but lack of attentiveness. Customers should not keep asking their server to bring us water. I don’t remember our server check on us even she passed us several times. I even asked her to bring me another beer. I felt little rush out of there. Btw, we still left her more than 20% tip. I don’t even remember her name. If you are looking for casual setting, this is your place.

If you are looking for a dive with great, fresh seafood, this is your jam. It’s nothing fancy, not even close but that’s the allure of the Crab Shack. They have all you can eat crab on Tuesdays and Thursday’s. They also have every other type of seafood you can imagine, good prices on Stone Crab while they are in season as well. They have a full bar and also serve Jai Alai so they are upping their craft beer game :) You will have to wait on a weekend or during all you can eat nights but the price and no-frills are worth it.

Our party of four went for lunch today. The place was filthy, filthy filthy!!! Our table abutted the walk with which was covered in old, splashed on food. There was a announcement about the rusk of consuming raw fish stapled to the wall. This was a single sheet of paper in a page protector that you could barely read due to the grime and splashed food residue on the page protector. All this was right at eye level as we sat down. Our silverware was greasy so we asked for plasticware instead. We asked for the manager and and a tall, older man with white hair came to our table. We quietly pointed out our observations and he preceded to tell us «we continuously pass our inspections.» Then he went on to tell us they have a dish washer service who checks on the dishwasher once a week so he doesn’t know why the utensils would be greasy. As for the dirty wall? At first he said«that’s mostly paint chipping.» After we pointed out the filth he said, «it could be cleaned a little better.» This man didn’t seem to care at all. We will never go again and be sure we let our friends and family know of our experience! Sent from my iPhone

Great waitstaff. Super sweet. Went for crabs, called ahead, got there, no crabs. Ordered a few other menu items totally underwhelmed. Great dive to grab a beer.

We tried the AYCE clam strips, and they didn’t have a lot of clam flavor to them. They also raised the price about three dollars on them, now they are $ 9.95. I also tried the garlic butter blue crab. Not a lot of meat, but good flavor. They have them $ 2.50 each, or in larger amounts. They also have AYCE crab legs which were really huge, and a lot of people were ordering those. I would have given only three stars for the food, but Dee our server was great! Dee brought refills of everything, smiled, and was extremely nice and informative. We will definitely be back again, not for the clams, but to try other items. They have half price apps before six, so it’ll probably be for peel and eat shrimp or wings.

I liked this place, we had the all you can eat snow crabs. The waitress was nice and got us what we needed. My only complaint is that the crab was just steamed, I wish it had some more flavor. It was delicious and perfectly cooked but after a couple of pounds it made me wish there was some good seasoning. We did get old bay on the side but its not the same sprinkling it on.

This is a fun very casual seafood place on the Redneck Riviera area along Gandy. Fishing shack décor. The food was pretty good and the service prompt. Not great, or ingenuous, but pretty solid. The oysters and some of the crab legs we got were on the smallish thin side. :) There’s an indoor area and some sunny outside seating.

If you like bland soupy cole slaw, over fried crab cakes, and lackluster service with fake smiles-this is the place for you. There are so many better options for great seafood in St Pete. The oysters were good(even tho the crackers were just thrown on the plate haphazardly) and the french fries were tasty. Friendly bus boy and cook. Cheap prices, on par with the food. Check out I.C. Sharks nearby-voted best seafood in Tampa Bay, plus they have tasty food and friendly staff. And no, I don’t work there.

Our experience at the Crab Shack was a good one. Our server was outstanding and on top of it. Our drinks were never less than half full and our food came out fast. The food was your standard«dock style restaurant”– you know, no frills, but good food. My husband ordered the fish and chips. The fries came out impeccably fresh and the fish was as well. The salad served with it was large in size, but underwhelming in the accompaniments. I ordered the fried oyster sandwich with fries. Again the fries were fresh and the fried oysters were bountiful. It would have been nice to have the oysters served on a baguette, but the kaiser roll was okay. The cole slaw was lackluster and needed seasoning. The clam chowder was thick and served nice and hot. One MINOR complaint is that it was served with saltines. I would personally prefer oyster crackers, but oh well. The hush puppies were cornmeal based and tasty. Overall, we will be back. We paid $ 38 for a cup of chowdah, hush puppies, fish and chips dinner, fried oyster sandwich, a Bud light draft, and a Diet coke. That’s a steal of a deal!

The«Shack» part of the name is no joke! Restaurant has a classic old Florida-beach-bar feel to it(complete with picnic tables indoors). Oysters are always fresh and delicious! Garlic butter blue crab claws(appetizer menu) are a necessity. All-you-can-eat crab legs(with fries and cole slaw) during snow crab season is the best deal around! Cole slaw is fabulous, as well. Their blackened grouper sandwich is perfection. Garlic butter steamed WHOLE blue crabs are awesome, if you know how to open them! Service is hit or miss here. A few great servers, and one or two who couldn’t care less about their tables. Have had to ask for water, silverware, and my check repeatedly on more than one occasion. Food is still worth the trip, though!
