I would like to give a more in-depth review of this place, but I never had the opportunity of trying any of the food. After sitting for 15mins waiting for the waitress that the hosted promised when were sat and never showed up, we decided to leave. Well the decision to leave came after the table that came in 10mins after we did, received a server and their order was taken. As we left, the hostess followed us out to our car. She apologize and gave the reason for the abysmal service was due to shift change, of course she never invited us back inside or offer to fix the problem. That shouldn’t have mattered since there were only three other tables in the place besides ours! I will not be returning to this establishment. With all the bbq joints in the area, you’d think customer service would matter to them. Oh Well, eater beware!

For true dining entertainment value, ask Rebeka for the special cornbread and fried okra. Trust me. She was a fun and excellent server! Now, to our order and the review… The smoked wings we had for our appetizer where simple but flavorful with good smoke flavor. The ribs were smoky and had a great sweet bark but they were definitely a bit on the dry side. The smoked chicken was very moist which is unusual. Finally, the mac and cheese was decent but not overly flavorful or fancy. In conclusion, we had fun but I can’t call this the best bbq I’ve ever had.

As a former resident(and continued traveler) to Atlanta, this was hard to compare to real Southern BBQ. Brisket was good but not amazing, very small smoke ring so not a lot of flavor from the cooking. Mac & cheese was disappointing for being a premium side, dried out and not very cheesey. Tater tots were the highlight of the meal but the portion was smaller than expected to balance it out apparently. Fries were good, steak fry style. Short ribs decent again not amazing or anything to write home about. Plenty of seating inside its more of a standard casual restaurant than real authentic BBQ.

Another visit proves the same. Just very average. Nothing bad just nothing spectacular. The chicken was good and juicy. The smoked wings are ok but almost too much smokey taste to them. One or two and I was just over it. He had the ribs and enjoyed them but said codys was better. I’m not sure about that. 2 different styles there. Service was good and the waitress was on top of keeping the beers coming and making sure we had plenty of napkins etc. I’d go back but it’s not on the top. of my list.

The food is ok, not great, but the customer service is horrible. I would certainly choose another BBQ joint every time. If you need the details… Because of one of their faulty BBQ sauce bottles, I left wearing it all over my white dress shirt and silk tie. The waitress said, «oh, that happens all the time. They put spices in it and it gets stuck.» Nothing offered. The manager was too busy,(on break), too even come over and apologize. And that was after I asked for her a good twenty minutes later.

Ran into my old buddy Uncle D as he was back from Italy and I was in town from Louisville. Not much of a bourbon selection(I understand more would be there soon-waiting on a delivery) but first time I tried the flash-fried smoked wings-I mean just fantastic! Pork sandwich was great-so were greens but just go on get a pile of the smoked wings and some Stella’s and go to town!

Ate their for the first time… had a steak with a great smokey flavor and collard greens– yum. The service wasn’t spectacular, but the food came out fast and was delicious– so I’m definitely going back for more.

I HATED this restaurant. I have celiac disease, which is an allergy to gluten-a medical condition!- and I am quite tolerant of limited menu selections when I go out to dinner. I don’t expect every restaurant to cater to my needs. But I have NEVER experienced what seemed like outright hostility to my questions. The server was very pleasant, but the answers from the kitchen were not. No, there is nothing here that is safe from gluten. Nothing? Do you know what kind of effort it takes to make broccoli NOT gluten-free? If I hadn’t been with a group, I would have left then. As i was, I enjoyed a refreshing cider and enjoyed the company. Oh, and my friends didn’t seem to think the food was that great either.

My pulled pork was delicious & the smoked wings were out of this world! Really loved the spicy but sweet baked beans!

Being very curious regarding the Luckie B v. Champions bbq debate, we decided to try this place first. It’s very good bbq-my spare ribs were meaty and had a good smoke flavor. Ribs were complimented more by the smoky bbq sauce on the table. The mac & cheese was too watery. Hubby had the pulled pork & chicken combo and he loved both. Both options were moist and flavorful, but again the side(collard greens) lacked flavor but liked the coleslaw. Tip: Ask for hot bbq sauce(not kept on table) if you like hot sauce. Service was great & restaurant was clean. Will update review once we try the competition!

Best BBQ bargain around! They have a sweet deal on Tuesdays… $ 6 speciality burgers… I had a burger topped with pulled pork, cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce! The burger was slightly dry… But the delicious pulled pork & other topping made up for it!

Good BBQ places in my regularly traveled path are few. I occasionally enjoy Luckie B’s because I can call my order in and pick it up on my way home from work which is exactly what I did on this visit. I ordered a large pulled pork sandwich with a side of «baked beans». I used quotation marks there because there might have been a total of 10 actual beans in the container. The rest of the contents was sauce, semi raw onion and red peppers. I was so disappointed. Ew. The pulled pork sandwich, once given a slather of BBQ sauce at home, was delicious. I pulled ½ the pork off and kept it for a future sandwich since it was piled so high. Definitely value for your money there. The bun was fresh and toasted so it held up nicely. Overall they are good for smoked meats but the sides seem to be lacking.

Very good burgers! There burgers are mixed with sirloin steaks so they are very flavorful and they come with big steak fries. If you like your burgers a little more done like I do I suggest that you get them cooked one notch higher than you normally do because they like to under cook them. I have had to send them back many times in the past before I started ordering it cooked longer. Wednesdays they have a $ 5 burger special for classic style burgers and the specialty burgers are $ 6. They no longer take reservations anymore which is a bad move on their part because they get very crowded on Wednesdays due to the burger special. If you get there at prime time expect to wait at least 20 minutes.

I traveled over to St. Pete for work and hopped on Unilocal to see what was shaking for lunch. This spot had good reviews so we came to test it out. Oh gosh… My mouth is watering as I write this. It wasn’t particularly busy which was awesome so we were immediately seated. They have so much food on this menu that it took us forever to order. That’s always a good thing. I went with the pulled pork sandwich and fries. They have like 3 or 4 sauce selections on the table. Why did they do that? THATSANDWICHWASSODANGGOOD!!! I’d consider coming all the way over there from South Tampa to eat it. lol This is a good quality BBQSPOT and the prices are great! Check it out if you’re in the area!

We were in the mood for BBQ and this showed up in my Unilocal search results and was the closest to where we were, so off we go! Greeted and seated fairly quickly. Came at an odd time, so there wasn’t too many people in the restaurant. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the brisket, hubby ordered BBQ chicken, and my son ordered the pulled pork sandwich. All around thumbs up for the food! My brisket was very tender. I thought the beans were good– lots of flavor. The collard greens were ok. I tried the chicken and it was good– it had some kind of dry rub and looked appealing to the eye. Taste was ok, at least it wasn’t dry! Pork sandwich got approval from my son. There was a variety of different BBQ sauces for us on the table. Sorry, can’t remember their names. Will most likely return to sample the other BBQ offerings – like the ribs!

First time there and it was very good! I had the half chicken. It was a dry rubbed but came out really moist and juicy. My sides was some baked beans and potatoes salad. The potato salad was alright being a little dry but, the beans were really awesome and different. The service was outstanding! Didn’t have to wait long and checked on us every so often. Great atmosphere and decors. Prices were at reasonable and worth trying. A great BBQ spot!

Came back today for $ 5 cheeseburger day($ 6 for a specialty burger). I tried the Carolina Burger which was topped with a fried green tomato, cole slaw, crunchy pickles and a squirt of their Carolina barbecue sauce. I asked for it medium rare and they delivered. It was a tasty burger. Not earth shattering, but of the 3.5 variety. A specialty burger and a side for $ 6 is a great value. Although it was better than the barbecue I ordered on my last visit, it’s just not quite enough to change my rating
