Pinellas Bayway Administration Building

The Pinellas Bayway Administration Building is where you can go if you need to purchase a SunPass Bayway Commuter Pass. This is a $ 50 add-​on to a SunPass that gets you unlimited access through the three Bayway toll plazas instead of paying 53 cents each time. What their website doesn’t tell you is that you can also add the commuter pass via phone; the number to call is:

If you do need to stop here, keep in mind that the admin building is situated past the point of no return from the toll plaza it’s attached to, so visiting here is going to require going through the toll plaza when you leave.
Their hours are limited; they’re open 8a-4:30p on weekdays. I live in St Pete Beach, and I work 45 minutes away, so my commuting hours fall outside of their open hours, meaning I have no way to visit in person.
My one big complaint is about how the commuter pass is billed. It is billed annually, expires on Sept 30^th each year, regardless of when you bought it, and always sells at full price. So if you’re new to the area, congrats, you’re going to have to do the math on whether its $ 50 is worth it to you based on the expiration date, but either way, you’re going to pay more than you should have to, whether it’s tolls waiting for Sept 30, or buying a full price pass you won’t get a full year out of.
