Horrible experience. Really is a trailer in front of a small berm. The clay pigeons only got about 6 feet off the ground if that b/c they are so obsessed about not shooting over their berm. The staff(all of two people) were incredibly rude. Made us feel like we were intruding from the moment we stepped in. We walked in and no one greeted us. We stood at the front desk for about 10 – 15 minutes before this woman approached barking at us «well you can’t start if you don’t sign in.» So we all sign a piece of paper(which wasn’t even dated correctly). Then she began talking to some other folks and stopped to say to us «you can’t shoot if you don’t watch the video.» So we found an area up front with a tv and proceeded to sit down and wait for another 15 minutes before we were approached by a gentleman. Not sure what this guys problem was but I really think he hates his job. This was the guy we had to go shooting with. Not a fun experience. A real dump(run-down trailer). I will not be returning.

Great people, great training with knowledgeable staff. Very reasonable rates. I have a great time here whenever I go.

No skeet in this place. Trap is restricted. It’s a trailer park. Nothing works. All have an attitude. Guy stands like six inches behind you to make sure you don’t shoot over the berm. A dump. Would not ever recommend this place.

Very safety-conscious. My husband always has a good time when he shoots here and from what I understand, they waive part of the membership fee for military folks, which is cool. Plenty of space inside to hang out if you don’t want to shoot.

Place had a great vibe going into it and I’m happy to say it stayed that way throughout the entire evening! I was supporting my wingman’s skeet tournament and was very, very impressed with the entire venue. Now don’t be alarmed, I’m not a Texas Pete weapon carrying guy but I do enjoy offing some clay pigeons every now and then. Haven’t tried it? Pull that trigger and let the stress of the day evaporate(along with the target)! Safety was paramount and the skeet operators and safety officers were keen to provide helpful recommendations about technique, form or finesse. The all has an air of seasoned veteran about them, and that’s a good thing. I can only speak to the customer service to a small degree, but everyone was smiling and ensuring the tournament was going smoothly. No drama(which is what one hopes for when firearms are involved) — looking forward to returning with my buddy’s 870 and going for a round or two!

Awesome place and ridiculously cheap… friends had shotguns, I don’t so rented one, my friends were shocked at the price and the gun…$ 2 and they said it used to be free but to keep with maintenance is the reason for the charge. I got an $ 1800 browning to use! The guy holding the pull trigger gave pointers when we would miss a shot, which never hurts… great experience, just need to make time to go more

INCREDIBLEEXPERIENCE — WILLRETURNMANYTIMES First time shooters –hooked for life. Skyway Trap & Skeet Club«Blew Us Away»!!! My wife and I are from Northern New Jersey, where guns aren’t at all part of the suburban culture, but responsible and fun gun ownership is something I’ve wanted in my life for a long time and never really had the opportunity to try. –People are afraid of guns where I live, because they know nothing about them; and I didn’t want to be part of that group. It is also my right as a citizen of this great nation. So since we have a place down in Tampa/St. Pete and were planning a week long vacation, I told my wife«we need to go shooting» and Skyway Trap & Skeet was the place she found. My wife is awesome. This place was exactly what we were looking for. It was actually almost identical to my first experience at the Driving Range(Golf). When you arrive there is a small parking lot on the right hand side directly along and behind each of the main shooting areas. In the middle of them all was the clubhouse where members purchase tickets and ammo(again just like golf), before heading out to shoot. Since this was our first time, my wife and I decided to buy the«Try It Out Lesson» for $ 50 per person, for an hour. Our instructor was Marvin Spinx. Let me tell you, Marvin was AWESOME. He arrived right on time for our 5pm lesson and welcomed us to the club before taking us upstairs to learn gun basics. Marvin was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, nice, accommodating, and FUN! He also happens to have a great sense of humor so I highly recommend him, although I believe Bonnie(the other instructor) is his wife so I’m sure she’s just as great too. Anyway, after learning all about Gun Safety, Proper Technique, Stances, Sights, Shot, etc. Marvin took us out on the range to try everything we had learned. Safety was«first» at all times but I was delightfully surprised that it wasn’t the star of the show because Marvin made it so much fun. We each did the North American Trap Shooting which is shooting 40mph clays and both my wife and I each got to shoot stationary targets first, before shooting the flying clay disks. Before we knew it, we were blasting those things right out of the air! Who knew shooting would be so fun and easy!!! All in all My wife and I felt like we had an AMAZING time. The lesson ended up being a TWOFULLHOURS! Marvin was by far the best Instructor we could have hoped for. So we gave a very generous tip. We will definitely be back and I cannot wait to go there again… HIGHLYRECOMMENDEDFORINTIMIDATEDFIRSTTIMESHOOTERS! YOUWILLHAVE A BLAST!
