Window-Kote of St Petersburg

Living in Florida, the sun /​heat takes it toll, and I needed to get my van tinted.
I was recommended to Window Kote by my mom group.
A woman in the group said she drove a van with the same year and model as me and told me the price she paid for the tint.
When I called to make an appointment, I told them my make/​model van, and the woman asked me what type of tint I wanted.
I told her I wanted as dark as I could legally get.
Guess what my quote was for — the exact amount the woman paid for.
I got my van in 1^st thing in the morning, and I had my van back just a couple of hours later. They did an amazing job, so professional, and I like that their prices are the same. Not like some places where they adjust their price based on their mood.
Honest business, and thats the exact kind of business I like and what keeps them around for repeat customers!

My father had taken my car to a different tint place and it was terrible the tint started to fade and peel. I finally took my car to window-​kote. I used them in the past and knew they did a great job and tint would last. They were so nice and did a great job removing and putting new tint on my car. I’m very pleased with the service. I highly recommend them to tint car windows– don’t make the mistake and go elsewhere like my dad did I regret not demanding he go to window-​kote in the first place. Window-​kote is the best if you want good tint and tint that lasts!

Window Kote has been serving St. Petersburg since 1977, which to me speaks volumes in itself. The first car we had tinted by Window Kote was my husband’s 2007 Nissan Versa. The dealership had the car brought to Window Kote and they tinted it brand new, they of course use razors and blades to cut the tint, and in doing so they accidentally cut into the paint and left a deep scratch. As soon as we noticed, they contacted Nissan and told them they would take care of whatever cost to repair the paint. When Nissan did the work themselves, which I am SURE cost an arm and a leg, you could not tell there was ever a scratch. They were absolutely stand up in my eyes for doing the right thing by us.
I then had my car tinted there several years later, also done by the dealership (negotiate that stuff in your purchase ya’ll!) and the tint stayed perfect for the 5 years I had the car.
I have had tint done on two vehicles, albeit a few years back, via Bad to the Bone and the tint bubbled within 2 years… they responded that «it is normal.» I also had tint done via a Groupon and the dang stuff dried with bubbles and was fairly poor quality. Definitely not worth the money.
I by no means feel that you should just throw your money away, however, the integrity that Window Kote has and the quality I have seen first hand on their jobs made me take my 2014 Tiguan to them for tint. They offer service within 2 hours if you wait, however, I dropped off and picked up and found ALL the drips and any sign of a mess cleaned up (and my car was not clean prior to dropping it off!) They clearly care about the customer, their quality and their workmanship. To me, that is rare, and worth spending the extra $ 50-​$ 75 for.
I am not sure if they changed their policy since Ross’ review in 2012, however I have a LIFETIME warranty. They explained to me that the tint should last 10 years; 8 if it is in the sun a lot and maybe 12 if it is not in the sun often. She also told me it was NATIONWIDE the warranty. I said how does that work? She told me that the tint manufacturer warranties the tint itself so labor, tint, everything is included if it peels, or bubbles. That to me, since it will likely be the lifetime of my car, is WELL worth the money. I have a 4 door small SUV (2014 VW Tiguan) and had ALL the windows and sunstrip done the darkest legal tint and paid $ 220 plus tax. The tint, as Ross stated in his review, PERFECT. I can definitely feel the difference in how cool the car gets and having black leatherette, and an infant to keep sun off of it was worth every penny.

Just got my windows tinted here. Top notch job. A little pricier than some of the other places around, but it is a very nice family run business and offered a nice 5 year warranty. I do not expect my car to even last that much longer. There were no streaks, no bubbles, no choppy edges, the tint was perfect, and I am loving my new ride that stays much cooler now that it is keeping out much more sun!
