Benton’s is a cool place. I used to work here, so I know pretty much everything about it.
They make their own jewelry. Bob pretty much runs the place, Jim is the owner though and makes tons of the classic original designs. They can make anything. Ruby and diamond necklace, diamond rings as big as you want, gemstones in their natural crystal form set into rings, jewelry out of old coins… They specialize in unique pieces. Jim can find you anything, just pick out the stone and design you want. They mostly work in yellow and white gold, sometimes there are some platinum pieces or antique/​vintage jewelry for sale. Not so much silver. They will take pieces on consignment and will buy gold or trade it against a design.
The shop also features Jim’s original oil paintings and portraits. If you are in Salado or if you need some really special one of a kind unique jewelry, stop in and see Benton’s.
PS The listing was saying this shop is closed, but as of September 2010 it is not. Don’t know why it says that.
