The Pizza Place

My husband & I are big pizza lovers! I love small town pizza places, & this place puts the cherry on top! Their marinara sauce is outstanding, way better then these chain pizza places like dominos & papa Johns! If you haven’t tried it, I beg you to!!!

Stop here all the food is amazingly delicious Wings, Pizza, Cheezy Bread that is just a few items. Wonderfully made to waken your tastebuds!!!

I visited Salado from Killeen on Monday and found this awesome restaurant. It’s not «just another pizza place». The owner was kind enough to recommend some cool places to visit around town like the sugar shack. I will definitely be back.

Best pizza around! The dough is seasoned with some Italian blend of spices and it’s incredible. All the topping are delicious as well. I think we found our new favorite pizza place!

Best pizza in town and I like the One that I like to call the Chicken California. Has Bacon, chicken, Alfredo sauce… it’s so good! Service is a bit slow because you get kids run it when the owner isn’t around! They only deliver after 5 most days or something like that. Takes almost an hour for delivery. Hey so just call it in and pick it up your pizza won’t be soggy or cold! Telling you good stuff… they have a tiny salad bar and dinning but again not wait staff either and if you want something you have to go to the counter to get it and then you can’t see the people working because there is a wall!!! Customer isn’t bad just think they need more people to cater to the customers when we come in! Have a normal delivery driver on call all day long too!

They have good pizza and a wonderful and friendly staff! We were passing through and they were a lifesaver! A must stop in Salado!

Poor service. The restaurant was empty when we came in. Waited 35 minutes for two subs. Asked where they were and they said one was done and another came out of the oven. One was cold. I’m not sure why both subs would not have gone into the oven at the same time. The hot sub was good. It’s obvious they are understaffed or just don’t know how to run a restaurant.

We tried to order a «build your own» pizza for delivery with the red sauce and green sauce mixed together. Not an unreasonable request, since you can usually get pizza with ½ pepperoni, ½ mushrooms, etc. We were told; «Oh no! We can’t do that. If we did it for you, then we would have to do it for everybody» We went round and round for about 30 minutes, the owner was called, and in the end they refused our order. We even offered to pay 5 times what it would cost for an extra topping just to get a different sauce plopped onto the pizza! Nope. We ordered there before, and while the delivery is spotty (takes up to 2 hours or more), the pizza is ok, thus the 2 stars. Curious business model – lost a lot of future business from us.

Great Calazones-​Fast and Friendly & they even Deliver!

This place was yummy! We ordered 2 pizza rolls and a small Bailee’s pizza and it was all delicious! The pepperoni pizza rolls are a must… my husband doesn’t really like pepperoni, but loved these! Best part, they delivered right to our hotel room door!

My wife and I ate there today, and were really pleased. The pepperoni rolls came out first, and were tasty, then they brought out our pizza. Yum! The crust was thin, with just the right amount of sauce (which had a great flavor), and piled high with toppings and cheese. Yum!
We ordered the extra large and had plenty to take home for dinner. and it’s just as good left over.
The only thing I can nitpick about is how long the pizza took to come out, it would have been nice to know that there was a big carry-​out order ahead of us. If you’re in a hurry, call ahead or go somewhere else, otherwise, this is a good choice.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Salado.

We love their pizza. The only time we had an issue with a delivery, it was taken care of by a shift leader. The Baileys special was so good, but even just pepperoni is good!
My suggestion would just be that, when you are taking delivery orders that you make sure the staff knows what to ask in order to ensure a good delivery.

If I could give this place negative stars, it wouldn’t begin to describe the fiasco that is this organization. They took our order and 3 hours later decide to deliver it… Oh that’s after we called 3 times and they said it was on the way… Then they call and say it’s out of their driving range… «Sorry you already paid a mild fortune and we only took a half a day to prepare it, but not only will we not be delivering it tonight, we will also be keeping your money.» The delivery guy said he’d tell the manager to call for our refund… But did he??? No, no he did not… And then what happened? The little **** doesn’t answer his phone again when we wonder where the heck this mysterious refund may be… Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone? Absolutely yes, if and only if they were my worst enemy and I wanted them to be both hungry and broke. The place was epically unprofessional, astoundingly rude, and morally disappointing. Dine at your own risk!
Update– since this review, I again contacted the business to verify no charges to my credit card were pending. In addition, the owner was kind enough to send a message apologizing for the situation. I’ll throw in another star for the professional manner in which the issue was resolved. However, needs improvement in the communication and delivery department.

Loved this place. The pizza was amazing! It was very fresh. I would have given 5 stars if the salad bar was fresher. All in all it was a nice hole in the wall restaurant with a friendly staff.

Loved this place. We were skeptical when we walked in because there was only one other family dining in. However, in the one hour time frame we were there so many people (at least 15) came in and picked up orders to go. Pizza was ultra thin and tasty. Definitely driving back for more.

I live in the area and order delivery from The Pizza Place. Very good pizza! They also have a variety on thier menu and have relatively quick service. If you order food from here I would stick with the pizza, which is very good. The other items are good, but not very good. I would recommend this joint to anybody.

Good food and friendly service is always at the top of my list and this place has both. The pizzas have really good flavor, the people who work their are very nice and couldn’t be more friendly. We had a late meeting and literally came in 10 minutes before they close and the two young men working there didn’t give us a speck of attitude. They were as friendly as if we were the first customers of the day.
Definitely worth pulling of I-​35 for. Be sure you go to the address at 230 N Main NOT Robertson road. You will not find it at the Robertson Road address.

Was driving to Austin from Dallas and stopped at the Texaco gas station. I was really hungry so I stopped into this cute little Pizza Place. It’s a really cute family owned restaurant and you definitely get that home-​y feel! I got the chicken parmesan pasta and it was EXCELLENT. I also loved the jalapeño ranch too… yummy. Keep in mind this is located at the Texaco gas station!
