Around Towne Taxi

I planned a two-​night trip to Bend from Salem, and pre-​purchased my $ 38 ticket for the Valley Retriever bus, scheduled to depart Salem at 7:55am. Not wanting to leave my car parked in the Amtrak lot for two nights (and the closest bus route more than a mile away) I called Around Towne taxi the afternoon before, with a request to be picked up no later than 7:25am the following morning. The person I spoke with said they would plan to pick me up about 7:15am. 7:15 … 7:20 … 7:25 passed. I called to ask «where ARE you?» Person who answered didn’t have me on his pick up schedule, and was too far away to drive to my location and deliver me to the Amtrak station in time. So, I had no choice but to drive and park at Amtrak — or miss the bus and forfeit my ticket money. Needless to say, Around Towne is off my list!
