So glad I found this place. Employees are really helpful and don’t force you to buy anything. They are knowledgeable and honest about their products. Even the prices are great. They have almost everything that most other art supply stores do not. Highly recommend.

The employees here are great. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful — no matter if your purchase is small. They have a great variety of product too; I’ve never left empty handed. Recently they helped me choose a specific book binding glue for a hobby project that did the trick perfectly. I am really impressed.

Excellent small art supply store — This is not a crafts place, or a kids school-supplies stationary store, but a real art supply. They have limited selection, but the bare necessities for most of the arts — watercolor, oils, pastels, acrylics, encaustics, drawing in pencil or charcoal — plus all the ephemera required for both beginners just starting a class, and experienced artists to grab what they may have run out of. The people inside are familiar with their product, and helpfull if you’re looking for something in particular. If they don’t have it, and can get it from their suppliers, they will evidently order for you — which is a good service. They also have about 40% of the store-space devoted to a work area where they hold classes and workshops… Prices are at, or maybe a few cents under list — and they carry a good representation of the major brands and quality lines of supplies. I was hoping for Conte crayons, but was very happy to find Derwent water-soluble sketching pencils and a good sketchbook, and stretcher bars for a canvas. And picked up 3 small tubes of commercial watercolor paint to play with until I get my studio unpacked… I went in with a couple of very specific items on my list — and they had all but one of them — which is pretty good. And — as always — I found a couple of things I didn’t know I needed! Nice to have a close shop! :D

The best art supply store in town, period. I’ve been coming here frequently for a few years now. The employees are always friendly, the owner is particularly awesome and they have a great selection of just about anything you need. When the item you’re looking for isn’t there, they will order it for you or give you a rain check. Their prices are reasonable and they’re always sending out 20−30% off coupons to their email list customers. Really can’t beat it. It’s a bonus to shop guilt free while you support a local store. If you’re an artist and you live in Salem, you really have no business shopping anywhere else for your supplies.

This is really the best art supply store in Salem. The owner is extremely customer service oriented. Prices are very reasonable and the added plus is knowing you are supporting a local business that cares about it’s community. They carry some really awesome art journals and art supplies that you can’t find in the big stores like Joanne and Michaels. And if they don’t have something you need they are eager to get it for you. The staff, too, is very friendly and hands on; knowledgeable about anything you can think of. Check ‘em out, wake up your creative side.

Why no reviews? Man! :( As an artist, this place is a haven for supplies of all kinds! I use Copic markers which used to be incredibly difficult to find, and at a decent price to boot. They used to have a decent selection of Copic and their various styles but now, they seem so barren. They only carry the sketch markers and no other styles. Enough about that, they also have a huge selection of paint brushes. Stuff I’ve never seen before! Microscopic brushes, HUGE brushes. You name it, they probably have it. Every kind of paper you can imagine is also available. Watercolor pads, sketchbooks, custom cut rolls, recycled and handmade sketchbooks and papers. It’s seriously all here. The staff is friendly and will give you tips and recommendations on supplies, products and brands. And on the off chance they don’t have something you’re looking for they will happily track it down and order it for you to pick up, free of charge! :) The prices are reasonable and if you sign up for their newsletter, you will get 1 coupon for 3 months which are usually«25% off entire purchase». Parking is hard to find, so you’re better off parking in the garage right next to the store.
