My family only went to one of ladies but I try and refrain from name dropping unless the person insists I think it’s a bit tacky. The other girls always greeted us promptly and assume they wouldn’t work there without their own skill. Through all my family’s bad dye jobs they were there and in a very cozy chic setting. I would recommend this place to any one. Maybe not a place to go when you want rainbow parrot ombré but a place you’d go for a beautiful sun kissed blonde.

If your luckily enough to live in Salem to get into Alyssa Lamma. She has a wonderful gift to get you the perfect color and style for your needs. She did my hair for years and then she moved. She is easy to talk to and you will love it.

I started going to Alyssa when she first opened Avalon many years ago. It feels like a lifetime has gone by and I can still count on her being the most stylish person to get a haircut from. She has an incredibly unique way of figuring out what your hair needs and what style would work best for you. I have gone to salons in Connecticut, New York, Maryland, and Washington State, paid twice as much, and Alyssa still gives me a better cut and color than salons double the price. I schedule my haircut for when I come home to Oregon because I know my hair will look it’s best for months afterwards. Alyssa takes into consideration what you want, how you style your hair, how much time you want, the thickness of your hair and every other variable.
I have also had a cut with Melissa when Alyssa was away or too overbooked and she is great as well. Schedule far in advance for both of them, because they are always busy! I think their regular clients also showcases how great this salon is. Not to mention the personalities and demeanor of the people who work there. I always have a great experience.

I went here to get my hair cut and colored (partial highlights). Overall, I had a really great experience and left with a wonderful new ‘do. Krissie was professional and fun to talk to. She suggested a great hair color. She even accommodated a request to add some last minute fringe bangs when I decided that I wanted the hair cut to look even more different than the one I walked in with. I highly recommend Krissie!
