My first visit to this place about 5 years ago was excellent. I was so excited to be back down south and have the chance to try it again. I was super disappointed. The quality had gone down hill and the new location was disappointing.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. The main reason was because I heard they had crawdad éttoufée(it like a thick French soup). Now, I’ve never been to Louisiana, but I know I love crawdad boils. The crawdad éttoufée is not like a crawdad boil(shocking, I know). For those who have never had crawdad, it is a rich flavor that falls somewhere between crab and lobster, but even richer. The éttoufée is extremely rich! It’s almost overpowering, but the sweetness of the éttoufée makes crawfish taste extra rich. I also had the jambalaya and the creole chicken. Jambalaya was pretty good, but needs more meats than just sausage. The creole chicken tastes like a crockpot salsa chicken I used to make, but with extra salsa and creole seasoning. One recommendation I would make is that they add a Cajun boil to the menu. Sausage, chicken, crawfish, potatoes, and corn on the cob all boiled together and served with butter, lemon, and creole seasoning. That’d get 5 stars for sure! Altogether, this place was a bit of a let down after two years of curiosity, but still a good place to grab some grub if you’re feeling Cajun tonight.

This is a family favorite of ours… We generally get the same things: Crawfish Étouffée, Jambalaya, Gumbo, red beans & rice… and of course, Hush Puppies & Beignets. The current place isn’t nearly as nice as their old one… but the food is great. The owners are friendly and gracious… and did I mention how good the food is? Seriously, the food is great… the Crawfish Étouffée is especially good.

Wow! It’s a little out of the way but… worth it! The Jambeyla Pasta was amazing. I also tried a three sampler plate for 8.79. Crawfish Etoufee, Red Beans with Sausage, and Jambeyla. Don’t forget to finish your dinner with a fresh Beignet.

I was very disappointed by the«cajun» food. The only flavor in the catfish was the salty breading. The only tasty part of the red beans and smoked sausage was the sausage, which is probably purchased. The crawfish étouffée and jambalaya were bland. Even the beignets, which were good, weren’t even real beignets. How do you serve cajun food with no cajun spice? You’re not supposed to have to pour on hot sauce. The food wasn’t bad it just wasn’t cajun. You’d have to be from a small town to think this was real cajun food.

This is the best Cajun food I have had in years. My wife and I first saw it when driving to Provo from Santaquin. Today we finally made the drive south for lunch and we are glad we did. We decided on the fried catfish, but we also got a three choice plate with the jambalaya, crawfish ettoufee, and shrimp creole so that we could try several different things at once. While it was not as spicy as I anticipated, the food was excellent and we very much enjoyed everything. The hushpuppies were some of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be going back.

LOVE this place! Spicy and flavorful food that my wife and I can’t get enough of! We enjoy the shrimp creole, crawfish etoufee, jambalaya, po’ boys, and the fries. Salads aren’t amazing, but everything else is!

Great food. Best Cajun food in Utah county. However it’s very poorly run and you never know if they’re going to be open when they say they’re going to be open. Living in Provo, its disappointing when I make the 20 minute drive down to Salem to eat only to see a «we’re closed sign on the door.» Doesn’t matter how good your food is if you can never get it.

My husband and I love their food!!! We used to go there at least once a week when they were in their Payson location. We were ecstatic when they re-opened in Salem. There are a few reasons I didn’t give 5 stars. The ambiance is not great, it is tiny and their hours make it hard to remember when they are open. I really hope other people will look past the faults because the food is amazing and we will continue going there. We just don’t go as often as we normally did just because it’s not as comfortable and the hours. We get take-out most of the time now.

Small Town USA serving up some delicious Cajun food. The fried pickles breaded in corn meal with their dipping sauce was great. The shrimp creole was great. The jambalaya was awesome. I highly recommend this place.

Good food… I liked the jambalaya and the crayfish étouffée. Their chicken tenders are really good, the fried pickles and hush puppies. Their fried food are great! The crispy breading on the shrimp is good. I want to come back and try the catfish. Smaller place, but I wouldn’t call it «ghetto» like a previous review. Can Salem UT be ghetto? Lol!

I want to start off by saying how much it pains me to give Boudreaux’s anything less than 5+ stars. My husband and I have been coming here(well, to their old Payson location) for about three years now, and it is hands-down our favorite restaurant in terms of food.(And we’re people who spend way too much money eating out.) No, it’s not quite Louisiana-level authentic, but for Utah it’s pretty dang close, and delicious regardless. The crawfish étouffée is the very definition of comfort food. Also not to be missed is a good shrimp po’boy(ask for it smothered with étouffée sauce), hush puppies, and the shrimp creole. They also have alligator, which is not something you find often in a landlocked state so far north. Finally, the prices are very reasonable. I particularly like the pick option, which enables you to try up to three different entrees if you just can’t choose. It’s a family endeavor with great service and I’m honestly content to have given them as much of my money as I have. So many punchcards worn out… Now. The reason it gets downgraded a star is because of its new location. Admittedly, I don’t know the reasons why they left their charming establishment in Payson, but I can’t help worrying that relocating to what looks like a run-down old gas station off the beaten path in Salem wasn’t a good business move. In addition to the ghetto-ness, the place is TINY. Even in its bigger location in Payson, the place would be standing-room-only packed on Friday nights. This place is impossible, and especially problematic since it’s meant to be a sit-down restaurant. Kind of hard when there is literally nowhere to sit. It’s smaller than most fast-food joints and has lost a lot of the class and atmosphere that made it such a fun place to eat. Also, my husband was really disappointed by their decision to serve a small bag of chips rather with the sandwiches rather than fries. That said, we’ll keep coming back because the food is still worth it. Just be prepared to look past your surroundings. And don’t even think about coming with more than four people.
