The blonde gal cooking and treating the poor casheir like Crap in front of customers, uncalled for. And food mediocre.

I don’t mean to be a downer. But I’ve got to be real. I’ve come here a couple times, the second time being to give them another shot. its a cute little place in the business park area of Hawthorne down by Costco, and its GENIUS to have a little café for those in town on business, in trainings, and working in the business park. The pesto veggie sandwich is phenomenal, though the portions are really small for the 10 $. I tried the BBQ tri-tip and was really let down. It didn’t taste as though it was marinated, it tasted like they just put the BBQ sauce on it. The ciabatta bread is tasty though, which I didn’t expect. I stuck with water, and my love had a salad bar, which looked decent. Overall though, while some of what I’ve tried wasn’t bad, the prices were a bit much. I don’t feel they were modest enough for what they are working with, and it felt to me as though I was paying for convenience, which, don’t get me wrong, is a great way to make money from the out of towners who don’t know any better and to prey on the folks who only get a 20 minute lunch, and dont have time to go anywhere else. But to be fair, I will come here again. I work in the area, I know they have at least one thing I enjoy, and the ladies who I’ve met who work there are kind. My suggestion to the owners? lower the prices by a buck a sandwich, and come up with some other recipes on that tri-tip.

I was in desperate need of a coffee pick-me-up since I started my day at 3:30 am in order to catch a flight to Portland. Mid-morning and Café 680 had a couple of customers lounging around. The person behind the counter was friendly, cheerful and quick to get the nice hot coffee in my hands. Plenty of places to sit, a counter with stools where you can plug in your phone if you need a quick charge, stacks of papers left by other patrons if you want to read the news, plenty of parking too.

I like this place. The food is tasty. The environment is conducive to a phone meeting w/o loud noise. I can catch up on email and the location works really well when I’m traveling to appointments. The employees are friendly and I usually find the lunch special to be a good deal. And parking us never an issue!

The first time I tried to have lunch(admittedly late — 2:00pm), I walked in and there was no one at the counter or kitchen. I waited about 3 min and walked out. A few weeks later I went back at noon, and to my relief, there was someone at the counter. I ordered a BLTA. After a 10 min or more wait, my sandwich was ready. Now, a BLT is a fairly simple, straightforward sandwich, with little accoutrements, so the flavor is based a lot on the bacon. Unfortunately, for such an expensive meal($ 8.00), the sandwich lacked flavor. The bacon was bland, the bread was unmemorable, and as far as I could tell the only sauce was mediocre mayo. If it had avocado on it, I couldn’t tell. As bad as it sounds to some foodie snobs, the BLT at Big Town is a bit cheaper, much more flavorful, and has probably double the bacon.

We stopped in to have a quick lunch and espresso. I noticed a VERY strong smell as I walked in but didn’t think much of it, I think they had just cleaned the grill? I should have turned away then, because my cloths absolutely REEKED after! I had to wash everything when I got home! I ordered the BBQ chicken Cobb and my husband ordered the BLTA. We came in with our 2year old… looked all over for a high chair or booster, and were informed that they did not have any… OK? Very odd to me? So I set my baby down next to me in a booth… Then we were informed 5 minutes after ordering and sitting that they where out of bacon, my husband had ham on his sandwich instead.(by the way that would now be a deli sand that is a dollar less, but was not even offered the dollar or a soda or even a sorry) Now, every Cobb salad I have had has bacon,(which they were out of) egg and blue cheese. But there was non of those. The menu said BBQ chicken which I thought would be Actually BBQ’D, nope, processed diced chicken with bbq sauce on the side. And a chunk of frozen corn? Very odd? An AWFUL experience! We only stayed about 25 minutes, with the chasing the baby around, NASTY chicken and horrible smell I can say I would not even give a second chance. My husband did say his sandwich was good, but not worth $ 7.99. I can see how this could be a great place for the local businesses to call ahead and grab a togo sandwich and soup, but maybe they should just stick to that. Also I have heard great things about the Sassy Onion(which the sign says they are associated with) but I don’t think I will be trying them either.

Was at a training session at the Comfort Suites and went here for lunch as I didn’t feel like braving the lunch crowd on Lancaster drive. There were a few patrons inside and they seemed to be waiting for their lunches. I ordered my Turkey Wrap to go with a side of chips and an iced tea. As I was waiting, I watched several lunches go out to the patrons, all looked good. Now on to the Iced Tea. When I ordered it, I was given a cup and told the Iced Tea was in a pitcher next to the soda fountain. I found it okay and noticed it was warm, so I put a generous amount of ice in the cup and then poured the tea. I was a little disheartened that there was no sliced lemons to garnish, but it was good enough. My wrap arrived in a to go box, but no bag to assist in carrying… as I was walking and it was cold, I had to hold my wrap in one hand and my drink in the other to walk back to the hotel. A bag would have been nice. I enjoyed the wrap. It had a generous amount of turkey, but it was clearly prepackaged turkey, the condiments were nice, however fresh cranberry would have been better than the candied variety which made the sandwich a little too sweet. The price point was a little high for a wrap, just over $ 7.00 and two dollars for an iced tea? Will I eat here again? Possibly. It won’t, however, be a destination for my lunch dining.
