We decided to sell a variety of old«scrap» gold jewelry left over after a relative passed away. I called around to see how much each buyer paid. Over the phone, Accurate PMR would not quote a price per 14K gram. To be fair, of all the dealers I called, only one,(Capital Coin), quoted me a price. So, we went to Capital Coin, first. They tested and weighed the old jewelry, then gave us a written offer. Then, we headed over to Accurate PMR, mainly because they say they pay high prices because they cut out the middleman. They weighed and evaluated the gold and even used their«x-ray gun» to accurately determine the grade. The assessment of weight and karats were identical to Capital Coin. However, when they told us how much they would pay($ 338), it was substantially less than the $ 565 we were quoted at Capital Coin. When we told the man how much we had been quoted by another dealer, he said he would check with his boss to see if he could match it and he really wanted to know who had offered that price. I didn’t think it was fair to be low-balled and then have the opportunity to match an offer, so my wife and I declined the offer and headed back to Capitol Coin. We were very satisfied with their service and price. I recommend you not be swayed by fancy ads and claims. Before selling, get several quotes and make sure one of them comes from Capital Coin.
