Set back and had a couple of beers. Waiting to hear a blues band tonight here and there really good. Had a bacon cheeseburger and fries it was nicely done. Took a look at the menu and it seems as though they have some nice things going on. I’ve only been in this place 3x and 20 years but that’s okay. Service was good the place was clean. Nothing real special here but give it a try if you just like the average.

This use to be a place i frequented often. Weekly, whether it was for lunch, drinks with friends, Karaōke, or slots. As of recently i have had so many bad experiences that I’m really disappointed in the recent new ownership. I’m in walking distance and this WAS my neighborhood bar. I went in once for lunch and i asked what was good since they have a new cook and i got the special which was Philly cheesesteak. It was gross. Only half the sandwich had meat and it was a hot mess… I have had breakfast once and it was cold and it took forever to get service even though they weren’t busy. So I’m out on the food. I have been in quite a few times now in the recent months to play slots In the afternoon time and because they are under new ownership they have hired new staff and most of the experiences i have had with the new are rude, abrupt, and sometimes even when it’s empty i have to wait forever for change or something to drink. It’s like telling your customers that you really don’t give a shit if they are taken care of. On a few occasions now i don’t know if the staff forgot i was there or just didn’t care but they discuss how they deserve better tips and they discuss their clientele like they are a burden. Some of the things that were said were just mean, cruel, and insulting. Very unprofessional even for a dive bar. I am all for changes since duffys has needed some tlc for years now but so far im looking to find a new place to have fun with my friends and lunch with colleagues. The new staff and food leaves a lot to be desired.

Good was good for what it is. They do need some repairs to the building. They have made repairs. The food was good. We will return.

This morning was the 1st and last time we will ever have breakfast at Duffy’s. The parking lot was empty at 11:00 am on Sunday and there was only one man sitting at a table. We ordered a mimosa and the waitress didn’t know how to make them. We told her it was made with orange juice and champagne. She said she only knew how to serve beer and drinks. We asked her about coffee, it came watered out and she brought creamer that expired 5 months ago and it clumped up into the coffee. She brought ketchup for the hash browns, the bottle was empty. We ordered a Bloody Mary and it was good. Some one that works there sat their 5 year old grand daughter next to us by herself with an I-pad so she could watch cartoons, it was loud. She was barely 5 feet away from us. It took at least 30 to 40 minutes to get our food. There was three of us. The food was cold. Terrible food and I can only imagine if a professional inspection was done on the restaurant what they would find. They may have good bands at night but I would be concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

A big old NOPE! Bartenders look at you and walk on by or continue chatting with each other.

While I’ve had good experiences here for lunch. Last night for The Sir Mix Alot concert things changed. 1. Your bathrooms are disgusting — pretty sad when the outhouse is cleaner ! 2. I paid to see the artist Sir Mix Alot, NOT3 hours of pure crappy rappers who had the bass turned up so loud you could not understand a word. 3. What should have been a nice fun evening with friends and family was a waste of money. Most of the group left 2 hours into it. We only stayed 2 songs into him Finally getting there and that was well after 11pm. No thank you to ever going back to your business or recommending it.

Nice bartenders. One of them introduced me to twizzler mini bites that are filled with strawberry or cherry(mystery red berry) stuff and it was delicious. This is before i started drinking … I digress though… This is located in south Salem and seems to be out of the way. The sweetheart had a DJ gig here. It was our first time at Duffys. Its not a hard place to find. It was for a benefit and this place has a decent dancefloor and stage. I thought it was a nice intimate music venue. We got here early to catch the Civil War game. Its a good place to watch sports and drink beer. Minors are allowed before 8pm. I’ve not had the food here. Just drinks. My experience with the service is that it is good. There is a large back patio with a fire pit. There seems to be plenty parking but i couldn’t really tell. It was dark. Off to the end of the bar is a room for video poker and there is pool. Do remember to close out your tab or else they charge a 20% gratuity for cards left overnight which seems to be normal for most bars. It didn’t happen to me but something to keep in mind ************** Okay.I’ve been here for a few hours now. Tab closed. The very fact that the bartender remembered my name the whole night is a major plus and makes me wish that this bar was down the street from me. I can easily become a regular here with this kind of service. And drinks are cheap!

None of you have reviewed this place yet? Well I’m not much of a Unilocaler let alone being Unilocalless. I found this place while I was looking for something else. Being new to Salem I’ve been using Unilocal to learn my way around. This place is a little too well lit for my tastes. It’s an old airplane hangar. Big music stage, game room, dance floor projection screens, not really any art or memorabilia on the walls, pretty good happy hour prices and enough beer to make all that crap fun. Not to be a snob, but 3 stars puts this place right in the middle of averageness-ish. Let your wings spread, reach out wide to grab a beer and get your loco on juan.

I heard they had a new cook so I had lunch there today and their Pandini press was to die for! Good friendly bunch that works there.

Decent food. Decent live music(too loud to have conversations). Both bartenders were clueless. They didn’t know anything about their local beers on tap(around 12), they had to keep asking around to learn how much each drink should cost, and they couldn’t operate the lottery machine. I know this is just a crappy pub but it doesn’t need to be THIS crappy. Oh well, I’ll never be back so it doesn’t really matter to me.

Duffy’s has been under new management for a few months, and it’s made a big difference. Gone is the general worry over getting in a fight for no particular reason. Back is live band karaōke with the Flextones every other Tuesday night(definitely check that out). A huge improvement over its previous incarnation.

The bar has taken new ownership again. The staff has had a lot of change and the staff that I grew fond of, is all gone. That was a disappointment. The food is still good, if not better. But the music is just so-so. The previous owner brought in bigger and better bands with better production. Tho I dont have to worry about a cover charge, I do have to listen to music that is just ok and sometimes just a bit better than ok. This is no longer my preference of places. However, the BBQ is worth stepping in for dinner. Perhaps if they brought back some of the old staff, I would enjoy it more.

This is the one place in town where you’ll be cut off after two drinks. All you have to do is trip on your shoe lace to make the bartender think you’re wasted and not serve you. The place has plenty of pool tables, which is nice, but if you can’t drink at the bar, then why are you there? It seems that the bartenders really don’t want customers or something.

This bar is NOT centrally located and while I have plenty of friends who are willing to drive over there – I just don’t see the appeal. The beer wasn’t tpp expensive and there was plenty of room for bigger groups of people but I felt as though I landed in Nascar central(not sure if that was because of the smoke, the clientel or the oh-so lovely décor…). I think they have live music some nights… which might be this bar’s saving grace but I don’t plan on going back.
