Salem, OR: espresso is nice and bold! They roast their own beans and make their own baked goods, with several gluten free(gf) options! My gf Chocolate Chip cookie was melt in my mouth tender and delicious. I was told their espresso was a bold roast. Indeed it was, a mocha with the right amount of kick, not making me wish I had ordered an extra shot. It required taking a scenic route to get here but worth the slight detour. Service was friendly and prompt. Free parking on site. I hope to have other opportunities to enjoy the in house crafted bill of fare offered at this cute café.

I decided to go inside because I like to put my own sugar and milk in my coffee. They don’t have the normal coffee shop set up and I had to ask to be able to do so, which I then had to do at the ordering counter(with a line behind me) even had to ask for a spoon though she didn’t leave me enough room for milk anyway… they also didn’t have a tip jar on the counter but I probably would have regretted leaving my typical tip anyways.

Great little place. Latte’s are nice and strong and not watered down with too much milk like other places. Just had the Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Bourbon, and Jam sandwich today for lunch and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. The sandwiches are a bit pricey but absolutely worth it. My boyfriend had the BLT and the sheer amount of bacon was breathtaking. I will definitely be going back regularly.

One of the best Chai lattes I’ve ever had, including those i’ve made for myself to my own specifications, and they have non-dairy options(INCLUDINGALMONDMILKPRAISEAZURA). The sandwiches were a bit pricey, so I was hesitant and worried that it wouldn’t live up to the cost, but the BLT that emerged was stacked with so much freshly crisped, thick cut, delicious bacon that I actually made a soft gasp as I opened my to-go container. The lettuce and tomatoes were crisp, flavorful, and VERY fresh(no pre-sliced veggies here), and the mayo was in the perfect amount to moisten the very well toasted ciabatta bun. Basically my sandwich(and the bite of my boyfriend’s grilled chicken bacon bourbon and jam sandwich I stole) were futzing delicious and worth every penny. Honestly my one problem that I walk away with is that I’m going to have a very hard time paying another business for a less impressive Chai latte when I now know for a fact that a latte of this quality is possible for the same price if I just spend the time to drive to Joe Mocha.

I really love this place. The coffee is really good! They make a great vanilla latte. It’s very cozy and home like. I love the set up they have in there and also it’s not always so busy. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Easy to have a convo with too! I think the greatest part of this coffee shop is that it’s literally 400 ft. Away from our house. I’m going to start going here all the time! And they have wifi!

Chai tea way too sweet, added a bit of milk still too sweet. It had a good flavor just too much sugar. Coffee was good. My friend had a muffin that was good. Tiny space, seating for about 14 people. They have a parking lot and a drive through.

So… Wow… Yum… and what nice people. I was traveling up in Oregon a few weeks ago and had a chance to stop by Joe Mocha to get some coffee. I ordered a Non-Fat chai on ice and the nice young lady brought it over, it was perfectly made and tasty. I was a little hungry and ask what they recommend for a sandwich and she suggested the Chicken Sandwich and I said«Let’s do it!». People always email me and tell me how they like my reviews because it sounds like I’m telling you a story. I think of myself as a coffee shop expert, being an artisan roaster for 15 years I love coffee and everything about it. The aroma in this place is excellent. They roast their own coffee beans in the back and the shop has a lingering smell of the roast. There is nothing like it and if you appreciate fine coffee you know what I’m talking about. My sandwich arrived, the first bite was like sinking my teeth into this semi sweetness of bread, bacon and chicken. I have never tasted anything like it. It is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had and believe me I’ve had my share of sandwiches:) I ate it so fast I almost forgot to chew. If you are in Salem Oregon and you’re looking for a great cup of Joe and an amazing sandwich please check this place out. I was so impressed by this food I sat and talked to the owners for 30 minutes or so, these people are so nice and friendly, it felt like Ive known them for ever. You know when you meet someone and you have that connection? That’s how I felt speaking to them. Amazing people, I wish I lived in Salem I would eat there every day. People who follow me here and on FB know I write it like it is, Joe Mocha in Salem Oregon is one of the best coffee shops I have ever been in. If you have been to my house, drank my coffee you know I take my coffee making seriously. One more thing, the prices are ridiculously low and they need to raise them, people from LA will think the coffee is crap just because they didn’t pay enough. It’s OK, people will still pay for the amazing coffee and food. Go to Joe Mocha! Did you do yet? BigD

The food at this place has improved ten fold since taken over by new owners. The turkey havarti sandwich with pesto spread is my absolute fave! Also the salads and pizzas are divine! Chai lattes with coconut milk may be the best in Salem.

My friends and I got three coffees. Two iced mochas and an iced Americano with honey and cinnamon. The two mochas were very good. Just the right balance of sugar and coffee for those not so experienced coffee drinkers. However the Americano was made wrong. They didn’t tell is they had no honey so they made it with sugar substitute. Made it pretty un-drinkable. If you go here, stick to super basic drinks.

They roast coffee, which you can buy in 12oz. bags. Either whole bean or ground on site. I have always been impressed with their coffee. They brew good coffee, though on occasion it comes out a little cool for my taste(in the fluffy drinks). Not a big fan of the food, but it’s passable. Atmosphere is nice.

This is a great little coffee shop that’s kind of like a best kept secret in Salem. I love coming here to work or just hang out with a friend, although I don’t get to make it out as often as I’d like being a mom of a little one. However, when I am there the staff is always very friendly and I always enjoy my coffee. Today I enjoyed chai. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay as I had first intended due to a work issue arising. I do have to say that I should not have been on the phone when ordering my drink but the gal at the front maintained a very professional demeanor with me despite my rudeness. I appreciated her courtesy even when I wasn’t extending the same to her. I try not to make it a habit and appreciated her graciousness.

My husband and I are regulars here. I like the coffee and love the service, so does my dog Tessie, of course they are always giving her yummy treats. The only sad thing is the food isn’t as good as it used to be. The burritos seem to be old and stale along with quiche and pastries. Maybe it’s just a slump, I know that due to convenience and service I’ll keep coming back.

Nice neighborhood coffee joint offering drive-thru service as well as a cool, funky indoor sit-down atmosphere. When I lived nearby I came here semi-regularly.

Just moved into the area and looking for a local coffee shop to stop in or drive thru on my way to work. Joe Mocha is perfect. The prices are so reasonable and the staff are down to earth and not trying to strike up an indepth conversation with you first thing in the morning(i.e. starbucks). I am not a morning person whatsoever, this place has been great. It’s also locally owned which I love as well.

New addition to my En-Route to Work drive. I’ve known about Joe’s for a long time, and have occasionally stopped in here when nothing else was quite as convenient. The prices are far better than your average chain. $ 1.50 for a 16oz brewed coffee with cream is very reasonable. The coffee itself is great, no bitterness here. Since my standard order from here is just brewed, I can’t comment on the espresso blends. Perhaps when summer gets into full swing I’ll try some of the cold blends. The baristas are very friendly. I never manage to catch the name of one young man that has to have worked here for several years, as I always see him around with a smile. Worth a quick trip through the drive up!
