Went to johnny’s today with my girlfriend to get some lunch. Sat around for about 15 min before leaving. Why? Bad service! Watched the serving staff go back and forth in front of us not saying or asking us for anything. Not even being acknowledged or «I be right with you«nothing! Rude! So we left! I guess noticing people especially in a wheelchair is something they don’t do.

I went here for brunch the morning after Halloween. I arrived at 11. It appeared to be a seat yourself sort of place, though there was no sign. The staff totally ignored me while I tried to decide if I should find a table or wait for more of my party to arrive. As a few more showed up we decided to wait for a table out on the patio. All larger tables were full and we knew we’d have a party of at least 8. We let the serving staff know and headed out back with coffees in hand. While we were waiting for a large enough table to open(the staff had agreed to let us know when it was available) no one checked on us outside. At some point while we were waiting, a different party came in and seated themselves at the table we were supposed to get. When we realized this, we went back in and settled for dividing into two groups. The waitress took forever to come get our orders, even longer to bring coffee refills, and never even brought water until after our food arrived. She also acted as if us needing to order was in same way an inconvenience to her. We finally made our food orders around noon. While waiting for our food we had very infrequent check ins and coffee refills. Our food arrived around 12:35 or 12:40(an hour and a half since we arrived!) and while my Amazon scramble was decent, two of our party had ordered eggs Benedict. It was sad and soggy. The ‘hollandaise’ sauce was transparent. Neither of them could really eat it. They also made errors splitting our bill when it finally arrived. This place may be an ok spot to get a beer and watch a game, but don’t waste your time on breakfast.

Drinks are good. But I have to agree with a couple others about the staff. Not sure if they are just understaffed or if they just don’t care. Food was decent, but not something that would draw me back in. If your there after nine, someone will come out and take your umbrella away without asking if they may interrupt your meal. Or if your ok with them dumping dust into your food/beverages. Good place to watch football. Have been there a couple times on football Sunday and it’s never very busy.

Tried this place today and was really surprised! Good food! I had the BBQ chicken wrap and it was perfect:) the staff was friendly and fast and checked on us often. :) the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the specials Are kinda misleading. you have to be there more at night 6 – 9 and the«7 for $ 7 «is only one option everyday not multiple food choices and my tea wasn’t very good… not brewed enough. But besides that! Great prices and good food!

Went to Johnny’s last Saturday for the first time for breakfast as I’d heard good things. I was really surprised that a bar could have such a large variety of good food. It’s not a huge establishment but not small either, lots of tv’s, bright natural light and very clean. It also looks like they have a huge patio area although we did not venture out there. Our food was delicious, the $ 2 bloody marys were a huge plus and the service… well the service was great!!! It was pretty busy but our server was incredibly attentive and fast and made us feel very welcome. She told us what her favorites were and what were popular menu items and she didn’t disappoint! I had a great scramble and the hubby had the country fried steak which was massive! They don’t skimp on portions at all and everything was flavorful and delicious. Our server informed us about the different food and drink specials that they offer each day, so today when I left work early, I decided to pop into Johnny’s to try the $ 7 lunch deal she had told us about. When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted by the same server from last week! And what do you know, she actually remembered me and thanked me for coming back! Unfortunately, the $ 7 lunch special didn’t sound appealing to me so I opted for a club sandwich and fries(suggested by my server). The sandwich was really good and the fries were probably the best fries I have ever had! And once again, the service was awesome! I couldn’t decide what to drink so she offered to make me something that she promised I’d love and she was right. I don’t remember what she said she put in it but all I know is that I tasted like heaven, or as she said, a party in my mouth! She was fun and friendly and very knowledgeable about their menu. She is the main reason we will go back to Johnny’s! I’ve contemplated writing Unilocal reviews in the past but have never gotten around to it but I felt that this place was deserving of the time to write a review!

I go here to see Lisa and Brooke all the time. Lisa is wonderful and gives awesome service. Not sure what the other review was about. Brooke gives me a hug everytime I see her. She is the best. Cass is great too. I love this place. It’s classy and comfortable and the food is great. Major props to the cook staff they always do a great job and even make me special orders! Lifelong customer here for sure!

Over priced menu with typical bar food, rude/non attentive staff. Lacking craft beer selection. The patio & location is about all they have going for them

We recently went here for lunch and I have to say the service wasn’t the best. Our server Lisa was not attentive at all. I felt she was way to busy visiting other guest and sitting at the bar, very unprofessional! Food was great as always. I’m sure we will back but, definitely not have her wait on us.

I have stopped in here several times and always had a great experience– Good drinks– and they don’t skimp on the size or the pour– not too much, just I hate ordering a drink like a vodka tonic and getting some tiny glass that is empty before you know it– not the case here. The beer selection is respectable and they even have a few Willamette Valley Vineyards wines on the list– had a burger the other night– it was about as good as I have had in a long time– and much better than some of the other local offerings. The GF had a steak on a previous visit and was very impressed, it was cooked the way she ordered it, nice portion for what she was looking for and the price was very reasonable. Nice crowd during a Duck game– not too rowdy but still very much into the game. The servers have always been very friendly and atttnetive with out being obnoxious– This may be a new place to hang out on a regular basis.

Always impressed of what these guys have to serve up young cooks that seem to love what they do everything I’ve tasted come out of this kitchen is made fresh and made to order never had a chance to pick anything out that was ever frozen. Good service good food good graces nice scenery plenty of TVs for sports !

There’s nothing real special about this place, and it has some weird little quirks — like it’s always cold, and the servers consistently can’t seem to work the remotes on the televisions, even though the serving staff seems relatively stable over time(as in, they should have figured out how the televisions work by now). It’s also awkwardly set up inside, hard to maneuver around, and while an occasional server will be really good, it tends toward mediocre service in general. Why give it 3 stars, then? It has a GREAT patio for the summer months, and the food is consistently average(yes, this is a good thing, because it’s never been actively BAD), to very good on occasional specials. They also have $ 2 drinks with breakfast until 2 p.m., so you can drown the mediocrity with cheap mimosas, if you feel like it. Unfortunately, their breakfasts tend to be overpriced, and at my latest outing, the hashbrowns somehow managed to be both extra-crispy and extra-cold at the same time. I’ve been coming to Johnny’s for almost 3 years now, and while it’s easy to pick out the flaws that should take it down to 2 stars, there are the perks, as well, mostly revolving around the huge patio for the summer months. Your money will be better spent somewhere else, but it won’t necessarily be wasted here.

How can you not love this place? The drinks are strong, the happy hour is good and the staff are friendly. They even remember you name if you come back. This is my favorite neighborhood watering hole for all those reasons. AND because the food is good: home made soups, fresh. Generous salads and for the carnivores – friday night is steak dinner night i stick with the very decent grilled Salmon myself. Weekend nights can get a little loud and crowded but with good spirits and good people. Check it out.

Johnny’s has a great patio area, the perfect place to sit in the sun in the summer and end the day with a burger and a cold beverage. They have 2 pool tables(rare in Salem) which is nice. They have an average alcohol selection, with an above-average bartender so he can make it work. and the food is good. The burgers are especially tasty, as are the fried pickles. The kitchen staff leaves early though, and it’s nothing but fried appys from 10p til close. And the service is way better during the week than the busy weekends. Patrick is the best bartender, he’s always courteous and attentive. It get’s busier on the weekends though and sometimes service can take a while and you have to ask for simple things like silverware, condiments and napkins, the girls aren’t always on top of it. I have had to wait for seating many times, it gets pretty packed in there. And sadly, it’s a bar that seems to attract a few obnoxious adults, local white collar 40-somethings that need to get messy and wasted and talk REALLYLOUD. Recurring theme, not sure how that happened but definitely not the fault of the bar itself. Just beware if you’re looking for a quiet night.

Stopped in here on Friday around 745pm with my MIL. The place was fairly full, but not crowded. We grabbed a tall table in the back near the pool tables. Together we shared ½ a nacho and ordered a glass of wine each. The nacho was huge at just $ 6.95. Very impressed and tasted great. The wine pours were large. I will be back.

Johnnies has a typical lunch menu with above average food. The service can be hit or miss as they have a lot of turnover with their lunch wait staff. But they are typically friendly. My recommended menu item is the honey wings. Yes, honey. It is awesome dipped in bleu cheese dressing.

I was disappointed by this place. The service was absolutely terrible. There were very few people in the place and it still took forever to get service. And every time the waitress left to do something(bring drinks, get menus, get food, etc) it took her –forever– to make her way back. We got burgers.(bacon cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger with roasted garlic, blue cheese burger with roasted garlic). They were… meh. Not terrible but nothing at all to get excited about. The patties were fairly thin and overcooked/dry. There wasn’t much of any garlic added. The blue cheese was fairly bland and low quality. There was a good amount of fixings on it, which was nice, but none of them were of outstanding quality. The sweet potato fries were pretty good and well cooked but fairly bland. We had to season them ourselves. The fries were… fries. Again, not great but not terrible. The best part about it was the bun. The buns were delicious. But not enough to pull the burger out of the«mediocre» realm. For the price, this was not a place I would bother going to again.

I’ve had a few decent experiences here. I am a fan of their wraps and salads. The staff is friendly… always a plus. A good place to watch a sports game, shoot some pool, and/or hang out with friends.
