this wonderful store has been around for over 12 years. a wide selection of fine Italian foods, including great pastas. the cooking classes in back are amazing. you get the real deal here. guess chefs are also invited in to show their stuff. I’ve been coming here for the last 12 years and have never been disappointed yet. give it a try and I’m sure you’ll be happy with what you do in this fine little store.

Me and my girlfriend walked by this the day before but it was closed. The place looked cute and in the front window they had nice gourmet looking food stuffs. We were excited to come back when it was open. We came in and were not greeted despite being the only other customer in there. The foodstuffs we saw from the window were the only thing that really interested us and we thought the rest of the store would be like it. But as it turned out the rest of the store was mostly gimmicky kitchen items. The other customer left and we continued to peruse the store without any acknowledgement from the lady working there even though we passed feet from her several times. We felt extremely awkward and unwanted and left. Sadly it was not a good experience for us. Especially sad since we both kept making it a point to go here.

It’s just OK. ½ of their products are unnecessary and gimmicky while they other half are terribly overpriced. I noticed that they offer fresh pastas but there were no prices in site… strange.

This little Italian Kitchen is fun to window shop through and see the little kitchen gadgets. And, to get ideas for things in the future, but overall I think the shop is a little on the spendy side(but that might be based on it’s location in downtown Salem). For example, a pasta of organic Italian pasta(not made on site) was $ 12.50/pound; and I had a hard time justifying that. But, if you are in the area I definitely recommend going into the shop and checking it out for yourself! Overall, I’d like to see the staff have a little more«Warm and welcoming» hospitality like my Italian Grandmother, and maybe they do otherwise, and I was just in on an off day, a rainy and cloudy Wednesday to be fair. I did love all the Italian flags that were around, very cute shop overall!

This is a cool little kitchen wares/specialty grocer in town. I stopped in today because I was told that they now have a little deli counter where they sell foods made by a chef running a local catering outfit(Loustic). I was happy to see several fresh sausages in one of the cases and picked up a pack of smoked andouille links. These bad boys rocked! Some of the best linkage I have eaten. Perfect amount of smoke, heat and snap. I am going to get lunch and some more sausages tomorrow and I am feeling confident that a five star rating may be coming from what I tasted and saw in the cases today. I am dying for a local source of charcuterie and hope to see these counters take off!
