I have to give this place two stars because of the service. We ordered Fajitas and when the entrée was brought to the table the tortillas came 5 minutes after. Not to mention she forgot to bring us silverware so by the time we got tortillas and silverware the the fajitas cooled down. The food is good but the customer service needs improvement that’s why I I’ve this place 2 stars.

This place was expensive and did not taste good at all. No flavor. Portions were small. They did have good entertainment.

I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo & they had a weird taste to it. The shrimp tasted like if they were boiled or something & I didn’t enjoy it didn’t even finish them. The rice was pretty good & when we got our chips they only brought the crab dip but no salsa. The waitress never checked up on us only took our drinks, chips & then our food but didn’t go once to see if we needed anything

This is one of my favorite places to have Mexican food. The steak fajitas are really, really good and I like the shrimp cocktail. They give you a smokey salsa, chips and a seafood dip when you sit down. The service is always very good. I like the Mariachi music.

This place is kinda odd. It used to be the outback steakhouse, bit now is a Mexican seafood place. When we walked up I was wary because although I’m crazy about Mexican food, I wasn’t sure about Mexican seafood themed restaurants. Walked inside and the music was very loud for 1 p.m., and we found out a few minutes later. It was Pandora blasting out of the speaker at the far end of the restaurant. The most annoying thing is that commercials would keep coming on. Can they not afford the Pandora that is ad free? Our waitress was top notch and she was very quick with our drink orders but once we put in our order for food it took a good 25 minutes for it to arrive. Fish tacos were not a meal during the weekend which was odd and the non seafood fair was very small. I got the Adobe chicken which was delicious it had bacon and cheese and ham with homemade flour tortillas. My husband ordered shrimp and he could tell that it had been previously frozen. When are food came out the rice smelled weird it did not have a pleasant aroma and it did not look like the typical Mexican rice that I am accustomed to, but the chicken was delicious. Very flavorful and succulent and I was stuffed when we left. Probably won’t go back just because there are soany delicious Mexican restaurants in Salem, bit again our waitress was wonderful.

I love their ceviche!(: it is really good and the costumer service is great! I was craving ceviche late at night around 9:40 pm and I called just to see if they were still opened and they told me they weren’t but they lady told me I could still order food to go and she was very nice and answered all my questions.

Waoow !!! I honestly do not recommend this place to anybody this is the worst Mexican restaurant in Salem. Even the rice have no taste. Food looks so good but when you try it is bad, doesn’t worth the money you spend there. Every friend who go there saids the same thing about islas marias. I went 2 times and I definitely won’t go back again. If you guys want a good mexican sea food restaurant go to PORTLAND/GRESHAM Islas marias or Las sirenitas from KEIZER.

Friendly service. Large portions. I liked how it wasn’t your typical Mexican food. Loved that it was seafood centric. Will definitely come back to try out the other entrees.

I’ve been to this place twice. Every time I go I love it even more. The view from outside is nice, the inside view is even nicer. It’s very clean. There is one specific waiter at the Salem location that is the best! He knows how to answer every question about the menu and he is also the bartender. He gives the best service, always checking up on the guest to make sure they are satisfied. I was there today for my dad’s birthday and we all loved the food. The rice and means aren’t that great but everything else is pretty good. There is so much seafood selections, they also do special little things for birthdays. My dad loved it and it was all thanks to this amazing restaurant :)

To start, they do not have unsweetened iced tea. Their iced tea is pre-sweetened only. I should have known poor quality was in store… I ordered a tilapia dish that was supposed to come with cooked veggies and beans. What I got was definitely not tilapia, but some other kind of thick white fish that was way too fishy with a rotten smell and flavor in a sauce that tasted like it was fermenting and kind of tasted like rubber smells. A few canned mushrooms and thin sliced bell peppers graced the sauce, yet could not save it. On the side was an iceberg lettuce salad with some kind of thousand island type dressing smothering it in place of the veggies. The beans were runny, bland white beans that were supposed to be pinto beans. My bf got rice which resembled Uncle Ben’s instant rice. Oh, and the«crab» in one of the salsas was the kind spelled with a K. Did I mention that they blared really bad west coast gangsta rap from the ‘90s and we had to shout just to hear each other? Yeah. That happened, too. In summary, rotten fish, canned mushrooms, soupy white beans, pilaf style instant rice, fake crab, no unsweetened iced tea(wtf?), some cheap salad mix already drenched in fatty dressing and some of the worst gangsta rap ever made. I refused to pay for my meal. Should have just walked out and not paid for my bf’s meal, but I had already dropped the f-bomb a few times and the word disgusting went flying, so I figured that was dick enough of me. I gave it one star because one of the salsas was pretty good.

I was excited to try a new place with our son. We absolutely love Mexican food. I ordered shrimp fajitas. The shrimp tasted terrible. I thought maybe it was the seasoning, so tried a second. By the time I arrived home my concerns were confirmed. I was sick to my stomach(meaning lost everything in there) for the next hour. It was $ 14.99 wasted.

Saw the place and thought the front looked good, so we decided to check it out. The main courses were pretty good, but the beans and rice were honestly, the worst I’ve ever tasted. The beans didn’t even taste like beans. But like I said, the main courses were good. I ordered of the house specials menu, my partner got the fajitas. However, we could have used more veggies with our food. Some lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole would have been nice to go with his fajitas. Also, the salsa we got with our chips was delicious, but the waitress didn’t know what it was made from aside from the basics.

I’ve returned multiple times since my initial 5-star review. The food has been consistently delicious and well prepared and the service is always great. This place is great for groups and my favorite days to visit, although loud and extremely busy, are Friday and Saturday evenings when they have a live, strolling mariachi group.

Food was overcooked. Everything tastes frozen or canned. Not a good choice. They serve rice pilaf instead of Mexican rice

We first noticed this place yesterday, Mother’s Day, we happened to drive by and saw a huge line of Hispanic families out front waiting to get in. That put it onto our radar that it must be good. Today, we were driving through Salem and wanted dinner, so we remembered this place and thought we’d give it a shot. Glad we did, it was excellent! The menu is large and kind of confusing, but our server was really great about explaining stuff and answering our many questions. The cuisine is from Nayarit, on the SW coast of Mexico, and very seafood centric. There is a page of the menu devoted to beef and chicken dishes, but it seems like the seafood is the reason to go here. There are many types of ceviche on the menu, and a selection of shrimp and octopus coctails. Everything looked really good. After much debate, we ordered 2 main dishes, the Mocajete, kind of a spicy Mexican version of Cioppino with lots of seafood, and another special, a foil-wrapped tilapia fillet, the name of which escapes me at the moment. While waiting for dinner, we munched on chips and 2 kinds of salsa, one a very smoky, spicy red, the other a crisp, crunchy mild salsa with a bit of crab meat. Both were very good. The Mocajete was fabulous! A huge earthenware bowl bursting with crab legs, shrimp, mussels, scallops, fish fillets and octopus in a spicy broth. The foil-wrapped fillet was excellent as well, though much milder, with onions, mushrooms and peppers, a bit of cheese and a light sauce over the fillet. Very flavorful, and the veggies were still crunchy and not overcooked. Both portions were enormous, we took over half of each home, even after stuffing ourselves completely. The food was not cheap, entrees ranging from about $ 15-$ 25, but the quality and portions were well worth it.
