Just checked out with the loveliest prime rib roast for Christmas. The staff was delightful the entire time I was shopping. I can’t wait to try out all the goodies I got!

Heavy selection of all kinds of meats from all kinds of animals! Most of it fresh but they also had a frozen selection of prepared meats(think turkey patties). They also have a legitimate deli section with grinders, they looked legit but we didn’t try them. Mixed in with this they have a local selection of a variety of products to include salsas, kettle corn, etc. Don’t think you are coming here for above and beyond friendly customer service(unless you are a regular) or a selection that rivals Whole Foods. Salem Prime Cuts is your quintessential local joint doing what they do very well.

I first heard about Salem Prime Cuts through a community Facebook page. I decided to check them out when I heard about their $ 110 deal… There are two options to choose from and you get a lot of meat. I can’t remember the differences off hand, but with the option I chose, I got: 10lbs ground beef 10lbs chicken breast 4lbs sausage links 2lbs bacon Pork chops(with bone) Steaks(at least 4) A beef roast And I’m probably forgetting something(possibly another roast). I make a homemade meat dinner about 2 – 3 times a week. All the meat lasted my family of 2 adults and 1 toddler about 4 months. The best part is that by not buying meat piece by piece on sale, I can easily keep track of how old each item is. I dedicate one shelf to meat now and everything gets used. And the quality of the meat can’t even touch what I used to get at ShopRite.

The meat is fresh and in some instances cut to order. They also have a deal for $ 110 that hasnt been mentioned here, theres two options, both equate to about $ 150 worth of meat. It lasts our family of 5 about a month and a half, and then we make the trip back out there. As mentioned the deli also has an amazing selection, and alot of things from local farmers. I noticed home made perogies today, giving those a try! I will mention thought that other than the meat deal, everything else is on the pricey side.

If you are looking for some great meat for an upcoming cookout this is your place! If its not a slab of meat your craving, try the grinders, yumm! My fiancée introduced me to Salem Prime Cuts a few years ago when we were on the way to the boat. She wanted to get some grinders to throw into the cooler, only one problem, mine didn’t make it to the cooler. The grinders are STUFFED with meat and are extremely fresh, made to order. Prices are not bad at all either, unless your there for other random things which appear to be a little pricey. Love it!

The meat here is top quality. If you’re looking for some fresh, quality cuts of beef or pork, this is where you want to go. They also make their own bacon, sausage and kielbasa. In addition to the meat, the smoked cheeses are phenomenal. Try the smoked kielbasa, it’s perfect.

Tom likes meat, and Tom stops at Salem Prime Cuts cause it’s on his way home from work and they know meat. Tom sometimes calls ahead an gets a big-a$$ pork belly, because Tom makes his own bacon. Tom also sometimes becomes lazy and doesn’t feel like cooking, and Salem Prime Cuts has pre-made dinners. Bonus. If you are a vegetarian, there is a box of potatoes in the corner. If you are a carnivore, the rest of the place is full of meat.

I’ll tell you, I really want to rate this 3 – 5 stars. What’s keeping me from doing so is the nasty attitude I got from a meat counter staff member. I don’t know if she was pissed she hadn’t made a bona fide sale, but that’s no !@#$%^&*() excuse. Ever. Had won a turkey to pick up at their store from a radio station and stopped over to get it today. Signaled when turkey was packed and ready to go at the checkout counter in a rather rude manner I’d equate with beckoning, say, a dog to come to you. Screw that. Went ahead and said thank you all the same. Not polite enough to say I was welcome. Know we’ll be happy with our product and all, but I can’t see myself going back there to buy anything under the circumstances that prevailed. Renee would be fired or at least called to the proverbial carpet for this jiveass baloney behaviour, but of course no one else ever seems to be. Great. Unfortunate, too, because I thought they had a nice selection of meats behind the counter. A good market considering the size. Not only that, but they sell ice cream in different flavours also, from a farm located in Lisbon as well with some unusual ones thrown in there such as maple cream, pineapple and orange pineapple. Didn’t bother to, though; I won’t give them the satisfaction of paying actual money after that experience. Mentioned as an aside to cashier who was pretty nice that«I didn’t know what I’d done.» As in, what the hell did I do to antagonise the other gal? Great. I don’t even have to be rude to get this kind of treatment. Must be trendy to be rude, or maybe people just get burned out more readily these days.

If you are a fan of eating meat and want a little more than what you can get at Stop and Shop, this is the place for you. The meat selection is very good and of high quality, the staff very friendly and accommodating. They also have a nice selections of sausages and other gourmet selections. A must stop if you are really into meat.

I cannot believe such a great grocery market exists in «little olé Salem.» They have nice cuts of meat, as one might assume. But much more… They carry«40 Licks» ice cream which proved to be rich and flavorful. Also a nice assortment of cheeses and some delicious-looking prepared items. They also have very accommodating hours!
