The Salem Haunted Magic Show

I attended Salem’s Haunted Magic Show/​Live Séance: THE GHOST of ARTHUR CHASE and it was awful. This was not a séance at all. The host did silly tricks the entire time, in an effort to convince the group to believe in ghosts and the paranormal. Once he was done trying to convince us, he abruptly dismissed the group by doing a ridiculous «banishment spell» and telling us that it was over. We all looked at each other in astonishment.
At no point did he even attempt to do a séance. The guy sitting next to the host fell asleep. One woman was so annoyed by what was going on that she asked «are we ever going to do a séance?» the host gave a nonsense answer by saying «we do less traditional seances.» It was supposed to be 90 minutes and it was only about an hour. There were only 12 seats at the table and there were 13 guests, so the host made one of the guests sit in a folding chair, on the side all alone to «keep an eye on things and make sure it was legit» as he explained. If I were that man I would have demanded my money back right then and there because they clearly overbooked and were not prepared. This was a disgrace.
This event was an insult to my intelligence and completely falsely advertised. This is fraud at its finest. The tickets were $ 85 each which is criminal. The people who run this event and advertise for it should be put out of business for blatantly lying in their ad. It is a scam. Don’t do it!

The magic was great & the performer was great! Very educational. Was a little disappointed because I thought it would be «haunted» as the title suggested & it really wasn’t. There was also a couple in front of us that talked the entire time & eventually left early. Not the shows fault but very annoying & inhibited our experience at the show.

The show was good, At first it had a slow start getting into it by there were many highlights with comedic touches. I went in with my expectations a little higher then what was given for the price of the ticket. Overall the show was good and had a good laugh. The way the performer would talk to the lighting/​audio tech did take away from the experience.

A great combination of magic and comedy. No cheap tricks or shills, only legitimate skill. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and would recommend to anyone with a few hours to kill (or make your way to Salem just for it). Just the right price to sit and watch.

This is awful. I’m a local and I came with friends from out of town. His mic was too low, it was cheesy which I guess is what we came for but, really?
