This review is just on the«Balsamic vinegar» that I bought at the Tuscan Market. I paid $ 14.99 for it expecting to get an amazing vinegar. I opened it as soon as I arrived home and said to myself, «It tastes exactly like cider vinegar.» When my husband arrived home from work, I asked him to give me his opinion(without telling him mine). He said«It tastes like cider vinegar.» Balsamic vinegar is a reduction of cooked white Trebbiano grape juice, The vinegar has a syrupy consistency that differs from a straight up vinegar. The vinegar I bought at Tuscan Market had none of the normal sweetness or thickness of a true balsamic vinegar. Since I dropped $ 15.00 on this bottle, I feel the need to inform as many customers as possible — Tuscan Market’s Balsamic vinegar is a dud.

We came here as a group; nice market. They sell fresh pasta as well. For food, we ordered: Fusilli, Gnocchi, Polenta, Chicken under the brick and marguerita pizza. I must say: the food was exceptional! The pastas were cooked al dente and the sauces had deep flavored. The chicken had a nice crust on top but juicy inside.

Went today and there was an older dude at the door who had some samples of what looked like olive oil and bread. He was looking at his phone and completely ignored my wife and I. later as we were walking in the store, I saw him fill up his glass with white wine from the other tasting display, down it, and fill it again. He then went back to his sample table and downed the second glass of wine which was intended for customers. We exited the store, and he once again ignored us completely, not even saying, «have a nice day» or anything. I don’t know if this lush is related to the owner or what, but he is leaving a horrible impression of the store. I won’t be back.

Really good! The prices are better than Kitchen for lunch but the food is still great. I like to get their cakes when I’m using the corporate card but they’re a little pricey for me normally. Really delicious though!

My wife and I Revisited the Tuscan Market Café and had mixed results. They’ve changed a bit over time where prior they were 75% market and 25% café. Now the café is more of an extension to their main Tuscan Kitchen restaurant, with table service and a larger menu selection with many selections also found on the Kitchen menu, just more casual. The good: I had their Truffle Mascarpone Gnocchi, cooked in a very nice light wine sauce, with scallion, mushrooms, and thyme. It was delicious. I should have asked for more bread to sop up the remaining sauce. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the mascarpone filling was terrific. The not so good: My wife was very disappointed with her eggplant parm. It was a decent portion over a mound of pasta. But taste wise it was very subpar. The sauce appeared to be on the dry and pasty side. I question if it was a portion that had been sitting out in the market case for retail purchase and then just warmed up. The place was busy, and service was okay. We’ll go back but I wish they would also offer their panini’s as an option at dinner service. Looks like it is a lunch item only.

Lobster ravs were wonderful, but the cupcakes were stale. Embarrassing when you’re serving company. Jeez

While I absolutely hate their restaurant and will never return, I have to admit that the market provides a somewhat better consumer experience. Their cakes and desserts are really good, their pestos and sauces are delicious, and they have lots of items you really can’t find anywhere else. The prices are a bit higher than I’d like to pay, but I find myself shopping here nonetheless. I’d even go as far as to give them a 5-star review if they started carrying Italian hazelnuts and Orzoro Solubile(I order it online, because it’s impossible to find anywhere).

Wow the fruit cheese cake must have been old. Really dry with a wonderful«been in the fridge for days» taste and the super rich chocolate cake was just as bad. Better quality at Market basket

Still a great find for a genuine Italian dining experience in a bustling Italian marketplace, but without the fuss and cost of dining in the Tuscan Kitchen next door. Saturday night at 6 pm and no wait after calling ahead 15 minutes prior. Priceless. Great ceasar salad, although 1 little anchovy doesn’t qualify as «anchovies». Yummy and hot eggplant parm, although only one large slice of eggplant on top of a pile of angel hair pasta. Seemed more like a angel hair pasta dish then an eggplant parm which is traditionally layered like a lasagna. But delicious never the less, and fairly open to their own interpretation. Service was fair… no check-in from waitress throughout the main course which resulted in no bread or water refill until wrangling the hostess to provide some water right before leaving. One major issue to be addressed is the presence of fruitflies. Hoping I just didn’t eat Fruit Fly Parmesan. Better get on that, pronto. Also not diggin’ the clear view of multiple waitresses eating in the open kitchen. Feed the girls before showtime and keep it professional and sanitary.

Charged a cut fee of $ 10 to cut the bone out of my «bone in» Ribeye that I purchased. Never asked for that. Why would anyone ask for a «bone in Ribeye» and then ask for the bone to be cut out completely. Plus it was over cooked. They refunded it but not the whole meal I purchased just the steak. When I called the manager said it is al la carte. I think she just wanted to refund the steak only. A la carte is a lie cuz it says it comes with sides on the menu. I After all it was $ 50 for a terrible steak. Disappointed.

We had a late lunch here on Sunday. It was packed! We appreciated having a few samples as we waited for our table. We ordered pizza, pasta, and soup. Everyone was happy with their order. My pizza was huge and I took it home. The olive loaf was also delicious. After our meal, we walked around and bought some goodies to take home. Even though there were already cannolis in the case, the person behind the case made a cannoli fresh. Yummy! Overall, the food was great and the setting is different than your usual restaurant. The service was a bit slow but very friendly and helpful. Look forward to going back!

Should have updated my review many visits ago. . Have been back several times. Have enjoyed Breakfast and dinner in the Market Café. The fresh pasta is amazing, sauces are delicious. Friendly staff who give you instructions on best ways to cook and tips for their food. Bread is amazing. I could go on and on! Love it here!

Love this place and It’s great for lunch and dinner. Their Panini’s and Pizza are to die for. It can get chaotic there during busy hours so beware. The menu has some similar items to the Tuscan Kitchen but not as expensive. It’s a great place to take a family for pizza and gelato. Some of the prices are on the high side. I did their holiday catering this year for Thanksgiving and Christmas and they accommodated for a family member who had to have low-sodium meals. The prices were fantastic for the amount of food we got. It was easy to reheat and serve and was delicious. Picking it up was a little chaotic and could have been better organized. My favorite dishes are the Bruschetta, Tacchino Panini and Margarita Pizza. It’s definitely worth the stop to check out the market for fresh bread and pre-made foods at the least.

This is a great place to go for a quick lunch or breakfast. Food is fresh and I often get gift cards for friends/clients here to introduce them to the great selection of Italian goodies

I have loved the food at Tuscan Kitchen but I have yet to have a decent experience at the market. The last few times I’ve been there, I would be the only person in line yet no one would acknowledge me(as I had waited for 15 mins). It has always been hard to get someone’s attention when I’m there. The last time I went they had such a foul odor in the store that it was so unbearable I had to leave. I have yet to go back and deal with their«service.»

I stopped by to grab dinner to go and ordered the Gnocchi. When she handed me the bag it was so light I thought maybe they threw the napkins in and forgot the food. Inside was a toddler sized portion of gnocchi. I went back to the counter to confirm this was right. It was. About half a cup of gnocchi. No salad. No bread. I’m still starving and now have to wait 3 more hours till I get out of work. Disappointing.

The food is mediocre at best just like Tuscan Kitchen. I’ve tried tuscan a few times and I’ve never been impressed. I feel like the owner just dumped a ton of money from his millions into some random concept at the top of his head and just let it work itself out. Ive worked many a restaurant and the food needs a lot of work compared to places around it. Try Ralphs or Prelude down the street.

I have no idea what the hell the draw of this place or the Tuscan Kitchen is. Tuscan Kitchen is over hyped and awful and this café is the younger, smaller offspring. I’m not sure what part if the visit was the worst. Firstly, it should run like a Starbucks where I can get my order to sit and eat it and it’s a place with servers instead. They honestly will tell you you can’t sit and eat a sandwich or drink you’ve just purchased inside the building. It’s take out or be seated, wait and tip for a sandwich they can make at my request. What a ridiculous business model. The place was 48 degrees inside as indicated by the wall thermometer. People were asking, including us, to be moved to another spot where the air conditioning unit wasn’t on full blast. We were seated in an awkward place where there are seats behind a shelf and literally one half of the table is an a shopping aisle so that my mother and her friend had to repeatedly move for customers walking by. The waitress was absent the entire meal, when we said we needed a few more minutes we waited for 30 before we saw her again, No refills, no sign of her as she constantly disappeared behind the counter where we sent the hostess twice to get her for us. She asked us if we wanted the paninis grilled and pressed. Of course you dolt, it’s a panini. The service was atrocious, the prices astronomical(30 dollars for an 8 inch cheesecake?, I can drive to the North End and back and still spend less on gas and the food to get the same), and the atmosphere terrible. I will never, ever be back to this shit show. It was better left as the abandoned Craftmania building.

I love this market! You can get excellent fresh pastas and sauces, salamis, and a wide array of imported foods. I love really good olive oil, and it’s sometimes hard to find. They have tons of options here! They also have fabulous vinegar options. If you’re planning a fancy date night, this is a good place to go grocery shopping.

So my review is based on a lite lunch in the market. This place was recommended to me by a friend so I stopped by on the way from a work meeting. I chose the Pollo pizza and got a great recommendation on a glass of wine from my server. So the pizza was OK. nice ingredients, fresh plum tomato but the crust could have been a bit more crispy. The portion was huge and I ended up taking most of it home. Great service and worth a stop. The market has a ton of pasta’s, sauces and other specialty items. Worth a stop.
