I had to try this place while I was in Salina because it’s an institution and has been around forever. Order at the window, and the service will be quick. The burgers were good, and very tiny and greasy. A fun place to try if you are in the area.

Real nice people, great sliders. Super stoked about this place. A real hole in the wall. Sliders dont come with cheese but its the history behind the counter thatll make you come back. Just read the rest of the reviews :)

Tastey burgers. Stopped here on the way back from the trails at Wilson Lake. This is not gourmet cuisine, but man, oh man, it will satisfy when you are having a «meat attack». I wish there were more places like this, and fewer boring chains. A real slice of Americana.

Delicious! No cheese available-ketchup and mustard on the counter but plain with a pickle is best! An average adult can easily eat 4. No frills just yummy!

This place is just simple and to the point. I’ve been here as a dine-in guest and as a to go. Both experiences have been great. The burgers are awesome and just the right size for two bites. They keep it simple with no frills and they are delicious. The review is short and simple, but that’s what this place is good for. I will keep stopping by whenever I am in Salina!

If I could give this place six stars I would. It’s the perfect place if you want quick, inexpensive, quality home-roots Americana for lunch. Their system is perfect for the light eater and anyone with a larger appetite, and the ladies behind the counter are wonderful, kind and enjoy their work. They’re a MUST if you’re passing though Salina, they also opened one up in Manhattan just an hour down the road.

Omg the best place in town for burgers. One of the 8th wonders of Kansas. They have also been featured on the Food Network! Just simply amazing! If you live in Salina this is a must have. Beats White Castle any day.

Cozy Inn does burgers. That’s it, just burgers. Now the burgers are savory little morsels and they come by the sackful, but if you don’t want burgers you’re looking in the wrong place. You can get a bag of chips and a can of soda with your sack of burgers if you so desire. The place is tiny and the walk up window is about the right height for the lollipop kids, but maybe that’s how tall people were in the 1920’s when this place opened. Burgers come with ketchup and a pickle slice, along with the grilled in onions. Nothing like the chewy steamed blahriffic White Castle burger they are often compared to, Cozy Inn burgers actually have some beefy heft to them due to their grilling on the griddle. Great for a case of the late night call munchies.

A legend and tradition in Salina for nearly 100 years now. I grew up around this area and I still remember my father taking me to get these little 3 bite pieces of stinky heaven. Now that I live here in town I don’t get them as often as I did when I first moved back but not because they aren’t delicious! Anyone who has been there knows if you go inside you are coming out smelling like onions and every native or naturalized Salinan is gonna know exactly where you came from and what you had for lunch when you walk by them. It’s almost a rite of passage if you are stopping in town or staying here permanently. Down to the food itself. Simple, 100% beef sliders grilled on the flat top as old as the restaurant itself, a buttload of onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles, on a steamed bun. I don’t know what makes the magic but it simply works and there really isn’t a substitute for it. This ain’t Burger King so no you aren’t having them your way. If you don’t like onions the you better keep steppin, because that’s how they are coming. They don’t have cheese so don’t ask, in fact if you do you might get dirty looks, laughed at, and probably deserve to be thrown out. Sure they will leave off the pickles, ketchup, and mustard, but why would you mess with this perfectly balanced burger whose origin is likely older than your grandma? Order a bag from the walk up window, have a seat at one of the patio benches, and dig in. Then spend the next however many minutes in tiny burger bliss, and the rest of the day wondering when your next fix will be. Pay no attention to some of the fake reviews on this place. This is one place you defiantly need to try if you’ve never been before, and if you have its almost a guarantee you’ll be back again at some point.

Classic Americana! You have to stop in. First question they ask is how many? As in sliders so just get a dozen and go from there. Onions are cooked in great for me but if you are picky or anti-onion then this is not your place. Enjoyed one of the few stools at counter and got to listen to the locals come in and order. Glad we stopped in on our cross country road trip. Plan your route to hit this place, make it a restaurant bucket list item.

The way to experience this place is to walk in with a smile and the longing for a true experience. I would highly suggest you buy a sack of 6, that is the right amount for each person, it sounds like a lot, and you might have a few left over, but they are good from the microwave at 2 in the morning. The menu is limited to burgers; that’s it. Also they come with pickles, mustard and catsup; if you don’t want that, tell them asap. All are cooked in onions, so they will be onion saturated, they DONT come without onions. Also, if you go into the shop instead of the walk up window, you WILL come out smelling like grilled onions, that smell with cling to you all day. Burgers are not wrapped in paper, but rather just stacked in a bag; no big deal, I’m just spoiled with my individual burgers in its own individual wrapping/bag/box. They stack in the bag fine and keep each other nestled in a warm glow of onion steam flavor. I would go again, going to the walk up window so I don’t smell like onions all day. Buy six, and enjoy. They do take debit cards too.

Loved this place! Stopped by on our travels through KS after reading reviews. So glad we did! Walking up to it just made us smile. The workers were so friendly and we enjoyed hearing(& reading) the history behind the place. We live where white castles are plentiful. These are similar, but unique enough for a nice change. Actually love the simplicity of the menu, burgers, bags of chips, cans of soda. Makes it easy ordering for a family of 9. Only 6 stools along the bar, so don’t plan to eat in with a big group. Perfect for us to grab & go. Really enjoyed the map on the wall where you can pin your hometown. Fun to see where people come in from. Would stop again for sure!

Just stopped here during a road trip for a quick bite to eat. This place is nothing fancy and mostly serves sliders, but they were the best damn sliders I’ve ever had. They serve the sliders on a toasted bun with onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard and the guys make them for you on the spot. This place is definitely worth stopping for!

Keeping it simple since 1922. The longevity of this place through three owners by doing the same thing and doing it right for so long is just awesome. Step into a little history museum that smells of onion. :-) I recommend getting your burgers to go, because they have about five stools. While you wait check out the old articles or watch proprietor Steve Howard cook. I talked to Steve… buns are delievered fresh every couple of days from Sioux City IA. Slider buns, believe it or not, are not that easy to find for food service. Onions, to the tune of 17,000 pounds a year, are chopped fresh. You’ll see someone occasionally appear from the back crying. Don’t worry… they are fine! Ground meat is smashed right on the grill. Your burgers are cooked to order. There are no fries(just chips). No fountain soda(just cans). No condiments except mustard and ketchup(unless Steve has some hot sauces stashed away at the time of your visit). Delicious. Tender. Aromatic. Enjoy a bite of history here. Hard to beat.

Tiny place with great slider-sized burgers. Don’t order by the burger but more by the bag. They pretty much make them one way but, for sometimes being picky about my toppings, I love them. You can go inside to sit at the tiny counter & order or walk up to the outside window & order then enjoy some nice weather with seating. They sell sodas by the can & a few selections of chips. Simple but great for a quick pick-me-up. We like to drop by on our way across Kansas for a bite on the road. Consistently good & worth the stop. Drop in with friends, get a bag of burgers then sit outside & enjoy.

We made a little detour to try this place out on our road trip. We opted for the #1. Burgers were okay, I mainly tasted mustard. It also took quite a long time for just 6 little burgers. I think it’s just more of an institution than for flavor now.

A little bite that always takes me back. I love driving through town my mom grew up here and we always make a point to come back. We LOVE our cozy! It’s worth 1,450 miles we travel for. Prices went up:/ but I we still love the atmosphere and yummy food. Note: to the review that tried to say your better off going to McDonalds. Shame on you.

Food 2 stars + the history 1 star + ambiance 1 star = 4 stars. Never had such a hard time rating a place… Burgers are now $ 1.09 each. 12 burgers = 1 lb of hamburger. Small size with great grilled onions and a pickle slice on each. Bags of chips and soda cans available. This place knows what they are and what they aren’t. The cook told us 90% of business is from travelers. I can’t decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Fun to say we ate there(neat looking joint) but not on my best burger list. This place has been featured in travel shows and food magazines for years.
