Current Comics

Been coming here for a while now. The staff here is always helpful and friendly and won’t make you feel like a stranger. It’s a cozy small place but there’s plenty of things to choose from including comics, cards and accessories. Prices are great as well.
Wish the store was located in a more visible place because it definitely deserves more recognition!

On the road in Salinas and needing something to kill time I decide to check out a local comic book store. I find Current Comics just a mile done the road.
Great store! I spent a couple hours talking comics with Nick and he’s really knowledgeable. He was able to answer every question I had about the books and even found every book I was looking for. When they were sold out of one of them he even check their other store just to make sure.
Their selection is good. Wide enough to cover most comic fans. They had plenty of regulars coming thru to pick up the new releases and Nick new almost everyone by name.
They had a great deal going on where all their box comics were 50 cents! I walked in just to look around and walked out with 20 books. Most of it was great 90’s books that I remember from when was a kid.
Definitely going back when I’m in back in town. Thanks again Nick for the great service.

Decent place with a decent variety. Staff was really nice, helpful and courteous. Store was clean and organized.
I’m from the 831 but I have resided in Las Vegas the past 6 years and it seems that I have just been spoiled. The comic book stores out here are massive compared to these local shops in the 831. But this place is better than nothing.

I always try buying from local shops this place is awesome the employees know their stuff they’ll answer any question u got if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll try their best to order it for u they been getting more and more action figures from time to time and that’s a plus I would buy online before and now I just buy locally very friendly environment highly recommend this place if your trying to to get to the comic book game

Location: It’s only a two blocks from the Graham subway stop. If you’re driving here, street parking might be a little hard to come by since it’s on a main street, but there is some residential parking around the block.
Atmosphere: The décor is all Comic Book/​Super Hero themed. There are comics at every table. It’s good for when you’re trying to kill some time while waiting for food. They have two TVs. Most of the time they have some Sci-​Fi flix showing. They also feature local artist work on their walls.
Staff: The staff is totally chill. They answer any questions you may have on burgers.
Food: The menu is also themed to super heroes. The healthier burgers are «Heroes» and the all beef greasy burgers are «villains». I’ve had a cheese burger. You can taste the freshness in the meat (not frozen). Everything is made to order. The fries are nothing to right home about, but not bad. The sweet potato fries are made from scratch, but they are not amazing.
Overall not a bad experience. I would give this place 3.75, but I figure they are really trying to set themselves apart with the atmosphere and I’m commending them for it.

First off, Comic Book Men has nothing on Current Comics. There are two locations, one in Salinas and sister in Monterey. The best thing about this place is the owner, who has always provided professional service, has been the greatest at accomodating the needs of comic collectors on the Monterey Bay and beyond.

This location has more character than their Monterey location but it looks a bit dumpy and dim. I got a few current back issues and the clerk wanted to charge me an extra $ 0.12 for the bags and boards they were in. Seriously?! That was a first for me. Since I was visiting on vacation I went along with it. Otherwise, I would have passed on them all and just bought them for less at
as part of a bigger order. I just wanted to support a local shop.
