Been here a few times and every single time has been disappointing. Making an appointment is pointless here, I still had to wait 30 min to an hour just for a haircut, that I was in time for. It seems as if people they just like to cut the people they know. I was a new customer and they did nothing to keep me. As well as really bad customer service.

Went there a second time after the first time did not go so well. I got a haircut from Brian, fast and efficient. Great Barber. Will go there again.

Definitely the best haircut place around Salinas. My barber is JP and he has done an amazing job on my hair. I haven’t personally been cut up by the others but they get down too on the haircuts that they give.

This place was awesome and totally legit l. These fellas really know what they’re doing. Cody hooked me up with the best fade and beard trim I’ve ever had!

Worst customer service ever! I walked in to get a haircut and no one greets me or acknowledges me. What was really unprofessional about this place was that they are not organized. There is no sign in paper or anything to see who came first and who’s next to get a haircut. The barbers didn’t even know who was next because they kept asking who’s next. While I was waiting I noticed that the barbers only greeted the people they knew or the regulars. My haircut experience wasn’t good either. I asked for a trim to maintain the style I had; so, I asked him to take of only a little bit of the top. Next thing I see is him taking out is the clippers and I immediately stopped him and told him scissors only! But I bet that’s all they’re used too. Just fades and tapers. But hey, what do you expect from a place run by a bunch of kids who have no respect for the barbering trade and are only there just to make a quick buck! It’s all about the experience and I didn’t get that from this place.

Decided it was time to get my hair back together and I needed a barber who knew what they were doing. I came into this spot and knew right away they did. They welcomed me as soon as I came in the door and I had a chair in less than a minute. They have a super chill vibe and the interior looks really cool, be sure to check out the walls. My barber was Bryon/Brian? He was great, he knew exactly what I wanted without me having to like walk him through it. Which is rare these days. My hair was shaped up in no time. Not to mention when I said I wanted a design he actually put thought into it to make sure it was something that would fit me. All in all, I will definitely be returning and telling my friends. I am glad I came here.

Victor and another Hispanic gentlemen are the only guys who have good customer service and skills. The Filipino kids working here act like they’re giving away free hair cuts, they look bitter and don’t greed or acknowledge a customers as they walk in. I tried getting a haircut by one of them one time but chose not too due to their poor interest in communicating with customers. 1 star thanks to the Filipino kids

I recently moved back to Salinas and was searching for a place to get a quality fade. After extensive research, it seemed that HQ was the place to go nowadays in town. I know barbershops like this place can get really busy, so I planned ahead and called to schedule an appointment. The haircut I received was up to par(nothing special), and I had no complaints. However, since my initial haircut there, it has become virtually impossible to schedule an appointment. I always call in advance and inquire about availability, but it seems none of the barbers are ever available and are«all booked up for the day.» There is never any effort by staff to accommodate me regarding scheduling an appointment. It’s as simple as everyone is booked — end of story. Furthermore, the one time that I was able to get an appointment, I got the vibe that the barbers at this business give preferential treatment to the people they know. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and wasn’t seen until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Another customer walked in 10 minutes after me, walked up to the barber who I had an appointment with, shook his hand, and then sat down. The barber then tells me that he forgot about the appointment he had scheduled with the aforementioned customer and that I would have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, my wife is parked out front with our children and my youngest(she was six months old at the time) was having a tantrum. If I didn’t need the haircut badly, I would’ve walked out in a heartbeat. My money is green like everyone else’s, yet this place doesn’t seem to care. They better hope fades never go out of style.

I’m giving them 3 stars only because my elderly dad was happy with the barber(Victor) who took care of him. Victor was patient, respectful, and was joking with my elderly dad. There customer service is poor. When we walked in, there were 2 barbers working and one customer waiting(customer #1). We walked in, I said hello and no one answered back. The 2 barbers were Victor and a short Asian barber. After we were there about 15 minutes, a another customer(customer #3) walked in and clearly he was a regular of the short Asian barber although from their interaction it was clear he didn’t have an appointment. Customer #3 asked the short Asian barber if he he was getting his hair cut after customer #1. Short Asian barber says«Yeah» completely disregarding my dad who was technically next in line. When short Asian barber is done cutting customer #1 he waves customer #3 to his chair(Victor is still working on a customer) and when I say«My dad’s been waiting» short Asian barber doesn’t even give me eye contact. He looks at Victor who says, «Yeah I’ll see him.» My dad gave Victor a 42% tip. Incidentally, short Asian barber was rude to a woman who walked in with her son for a haircut too. My tip for his is this, learn some customer service.

I heard great things about this barber shop so I came in wanting to try it. I asked the barber an inch off the top and razor high fade on the sides. The fade wasn’t bad it was actually good(had better). But the dissapointement was when he literally gave me a buzz cut on the top. He buzzed my entire hair on the top that I can no longer do the comb-over. Now I have to wait a few months to grow it back how I had it. If of you have short hair and that’s your intention to keep it that way good barber shop, but if you don’t want to lose your mid to long hair don’t come here(guarantee they’ll cut it off). Friendly people though

I’ve been getting my hair cut at HQ for a few months now and I’m glad I found the spot. If you want quality, then this is where you want to go. I highly recommend Fabian. Most definitely make an appointment!

I’m sure these guys know how to cut hair because they always have customers but they don’t have good customer service. When I came in none of the barbers even looked at me or greeted me. When I finished with my haircut the barber did an ok job but left loose hair all over my ears. My wife took our son there and walked right out because they just ignored her. They are lucky they are in small Salinas where there is not much competition because they would have gone out of business by now!

This is probably the worst service I ever had. All the people working here are extremely lazy and put no effort into giving you a good haircut. They do NOT respect appointments, so be ready to wait about 2 hours even after your original appointment time. Their haircuts are not even good. Regret coming here. There are far better barber shops in salinas

Ever since my teenage son has been getting a comb over with his new barber, Gary, at Headquarters he has been looking sharp! Located in a little plaza, this shop shares a small parking lot next to a Filipino marketplace and a restaurant. It can get crowded, but there is plenty of street parking. Price is reasonable and I highly recommend making an appointment. Place gets very busy since the best barbers in town are here!

These guys do a great job, also very friendly. I would recommend making an appointment. I walked in and waited about an hour and a half but it was well worth the wait. Also reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

Used to live in salinas but now I live in sacramento. Everytime I go back to visit every month or so I make sure that I go get a haircut from Jaypee at Headquarters. It is located very conveniently and kept very clean. Price is not bad either for the haircut. It’s ran by all young barbers from around town they are all very talented, and every time I walk out as a happy

This is a quality barbershop, good quality guys working and they have many customers to prove it. One Tip of advice always make an appointment more than likely someone can always schedule you in. Beats waiting for sure and if you got some time swing by the Flying Chicken for beer and wings!
