This is the sort of fun, artistic place that you take for granted until you move away from a major city. Cool art? They got that. South Park zipper pulls? They got those. Items that aren’t in every single other store in the 831? This place is not at all like those other stores. Friendly people? Very friendly! This place has something for every price range, and it’s all so refreshingly unique and interesting that there’s no reason for you not to find something to take home. Check it out.

There’s no other store like this in Salinas. The owners are fully engaged with their customers and obviously have a huge interest in the arts, and take part with the first friday art walk shows, hosting different types of art and artists. Great place to check out!

Super exciting merchandise.
Went to the first Friday Art Walk and was exposed to so many of the cool businesses in Salinas. I highly recommend this store if you’re looking to surprise someone with something unique.

The new location is pretty much down the street in Old Town. It has a more of Art Gallery theme to it. It’s really nice. Bigger also and more spacious. Still carry the usual clothing and accessories as well as the dunnys and vinyls. Only thing like it in the 831.

Went to an art show and a hip hop showcase, wow is this place awesome. Everyone there was friendly, adults, teens and hip hop, artist lovers alike all fit into this place. No drama, everyone was friendly and very appreciative of what this place offers. This is a cool hip shop that found the perect niche. Keep it up and if you haven’t visited this place stop on by!

Awesome staff, the owner, Will is super friendly and loves to strike a conversation. The new place is huge compared to the old spot and puts on great shows. If you want some urban art, artful toys, and street wear this is the place to go.

This is one of the few cool things Salinas has to offer. I could spend hours and hours and hours in there. Always something new to see, a new idea to ponder, a new conversation to share with either Imelda or Will, a new vinyl obsession to pick up or a new way to view the medium. The prices are great and the aforementioned Imelda and Will are fantastic, friendly and more than willing to help out. Keep your eyes open for cool art shows.

If you are artistically inclined, SOMOS is a must visit, at least once. Will and Imelda are wonderful curators, sweet and knowledgable. The store is smallish, so their very popular gatherings can be somewhat claustrophobic, but worth it! There is always amazing local art on display, and some great music too! Their is something for everyone at SOMOS, there are no guidelines for visiting… Other than an appreciation of art! They sell both large pieces and blind boxes, and the prices are in line with both kidrobot sf and online retailers. Definitely one of salinas’s hidden jewels!

Will and Imelda are super nice, friendly, and care about art. Somos frequently hosts art shows and events, which always include local artists from Salinas and surrounding cities/​counties.
I recently went (and participated) in their first ever Cupcake Battle and it was awesome. Fun, sweets, friends, family, coolness.
Somos is the place.

This is one of my all time favorite stores anywhere to visit. As a creative person I feed off other creative people, books, prints, toys, music. Somos feeds me. Will, the shop owner, has gotten to know my tastes and makes recommendations to me anytime I stop in. He and Imelda are always super friendly whether I’m flying solo or bring the whole family. I recommend calling ahead to make sure someone is in the store before heading over.

5 STARS for a couple reasons. I live in San Jose and the commute to SF Kidrobot is about the same as going to Salinas. So why the five stars? Well, Will the owner is friendly and knowledgeable, unlike some of the KRSF employee’s. No long lines for any of the dunny releases which i hate waiting for! And they support local artist and have a great selection of vinyl toys, shirts, and art/​toy books. All my dunny purchases will be at Somos from now on, great shop/​boutique!!!

SOMOS is a rad spot to get anything in the art and underground clothing world! From awesome vinyl figures too the best in modern clothing, SOMOS has it.
Also, Will who runs SOMOS, is filled with a ton of great knowledge from clothing to music. Definitely a great person to talk to for info and advice on the subject.
Also, I hear that they have recently started doing art shows there. Gotta check it out!

I found a print here that I have been looking for for a long time and everywhere I found it, it was out of stock!!! Not only did Somos have the print in stock, but it was about $ 25 less than anywhere else I had seen it! It was shipped quickly and well packaged. I even got a personal email response to a question I had within a day! Nice change of pace from automated replies =).
