I love coming here, the first time was because my mom and I were curious about the farm itself and then we discovered the awesome market with a bonus being fantastic artichokes! I love their French fried artichokes with ranch dipping sauce. 10⁄10 would come again when I am nearby =D

Great place for fried artichokes hearts… right off of Highway 1.(They were somewhat smaller than what we are accustomed to… probably just a seasonal thing, but crisp and delicious nonetheless, especially dipped in ranch dressing.) Lumpia(vegetable) was okay… an interesting option at an artichoke food truck. We stopped by early on Saturday and the two items we wanted to order were not available including steamed artichoke and shrimp roll. We «aim» to come back(in grandma’s words)!

I just had an unpleasant experience last night in Scott’s Valley. Long lines, and by the time we got to order, they said they were out of Tri Tip, which is why we braved the long line to begin with. The menu board stated TRITIP in bold letters. We ended up ordering something else and when we got called, I asked for some extra sauce since we ordered 2 orders of Lumpia and the young lady said«I gave you enough for 2 «. WRONG. While we were waiting for our Asade Fries, another customer asked for Tri Tip only to be told the same thing and when they asked why it was still on the menu board, it fell on deaf ears. Just like when I asked. I’m sure we weren’t the only ones to ask, either. So, I’ll probably go to another food truck gathering although, not in Scott’s Valley. Only 3 trucks serving food, one truck serving ice cream and long, loooooong lines. I expected much more.

Pretty disappointed in this truck. We ordered the fried artichokes for $ 7.00& carne Asada fries for $ 6.00&(3) lumpia for $ 5.00. The artichoke hearts tasted ok, but I expected more pieces(we got 6) for the price. Maybe thats the going rate, a buck per little heart… I don’t order/eat them often to really know. The fries were the major let down though! Such a small serving! I’m not just talking about the Asada part, but the potato part! C’mon, for $ 7.00, throw some more fries in the basket, please. Or, use a smaller basket to trick the customer. :-/. As for the lumpia, they were bigger than I expected, but the inside was a little cold. The veggies inside were still a little ‘frozen’. Maybe they we’re afraid of over-frying the rolls. I dunno. I won’t be ordering from this truck again, though. I expect better for my $ 18.00.

Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 The Choke Coach’s current price for one order of fried artichoke hearts is $ 6.50 and one order contains maybe 6 – 7 pieces meaning it’s close to one dollar per deep fried artichoke heart. Due to drought conditions in California the quality of artichoke hearts differ from batch to batch. One time the artichoke hearts were small and not very tender. Most recently they were plump and tender. The increasing price jump does not sit well with me. I’m thinking we won’t be buying their deep fried artichokes because their price is simply outrageous. Who knows maybe in another month the price will increase to $ 10? I don’t mind paying for good quality but even I have limits and this is just too expensive.

A food truck dedicated to artichokes?! Count me in! I ordered the«fried artichoke wrap,» which came with fried artichokes, tomato, lettuce, ranch and parm cheese. It was soooo good. I think it was $ 7, which is pretty average for a food truck. They take cards now, but there is a .50 charge. The staff was really friendly and they change up the menu every once in a while. Try it for yourself

Tried the French fried artichokes with garlic dijon. It’s pretty good. We stopped at Pezzini farms and had to try this. I’m not sure if the truck is always here.

Arties, arties. If you’re jonesin’ for deep fried artichoke hearts, the coach has em. Parked at Pezzini Farms farm stand, the coach is open 10 – 6 or 6:30, call ahead to make sure. It’s good for a quick snack stop. Cold drinks too. These are just average. Mostly breading, small serving. We need to find a new place for our artie fix.

I really do love me some deep fried artichokes from here. Their food truck was at a festival the last time that I got them. The price was increased I think because they were at a festival instead of their usual location. $ 8 for a serving, for maybe about 7 pieces. But the most disappointing thing about this last time was the actual artichoke part was pretty damned cold. They were probably sitting under a heat lamp for a while. My fault for not going back and asking for a fresher serving, but the people working that day didn’t seem the most excited to be there.

Delicious little food truck! My husband brought me here because of a recommendation from his co-worker. I crave artichokes on a regular basis, and this totally hit the spot! All hail The Choke Coach!

Sitting here at the Choke Coach, an unexpected stop but now Im glad I did. I ordered the hot dog — big portion, sizzling. Fried artichokes with garlic dijon, so good. Tacos al pastor and carne asadas, these have to be my favorites here. Came with green salsa, cilantro, onions. Lots of meat. And the artichoke soup, delicious. Now I will have to come back every single time to get my grub on everytime Im in town.

Delicious goodness in a light golden batter!!! Our office is in a place with no food places at all and we were all so excited to see the green food truck like a beacon of delicious salvation. Hands down the best deep fried artichokes and the Tri tip sandwich we super yummy too. So glad we will be able to have access to delicious yummies every Wednesday now. Thank you so much for coming to our work neighborhood and giving us some tasty options.

So if you were blessed to be born or even living in the Salinas Valley for any amount of time artichokes would have come up in a conversation. Artichokes are as part of this valley as sand is to our Monterey Bay. The Choke Coach is a direct reflection of this thistle. Yeah, there fried artichoke hearts and tacos. But much more than that. There the sweat and hard work, the dreaming of doing. The bringing of smiles to the uninitiated tasters, the first time biter of the sweet artichoke. I say«bravo» Choke Coach. Fry on

French fried artichokes were amazing. A must!!! Recommend the garlic Dijon dip! After you put your order in you can hit Pezzini Farms for artichokes, Brussels sprouts and other fresh produce. A stop we plan to hit with every trip to the Monterey area!

If the name wasn’t enough, all anyone needs to know is some of the best artichokes in CA come from a food truck. Fried, grilled, stuffed, or steamed, honestly any preparation of an artichoke is fabulous. The Choke Coach is known for the fried preparation but on this delightful day we opted for a whole steamed artichoke with lemon aioli and mustard aioli on the side. It was perfection as I pealed back the foil and unwrapped this beautiful choke. I scraped each leaf clean with my teeth as I devoured the flesh of the choke. I double dipped the leaves in the addicting aioli and did my happy dance around the picnic table after each bite. The choke disappeared before our eyes as quickly as at arrived and it took all our power not to order two more. If you love a good choke come to The Choke Coach!(haha)
