Turf Club Catering

We often order Turf Club for our office working lunches, and the food is always surprisingly good! I recently ordered a small catering for our son’s Cotillion class and all of the food was a huge hit with the kids. We had egg salad and chicken salad tea sandwiches, pb and j wheels (favorite!), mini fruit kabobs, cookies and punch! Needless to say, I will be calling The Turf Club for any and all future catered events we have. They are very kind, talented and reasonable.

I can’t say enough about Shahram and his lovely helper. They were very prompt (even beat us there) and had everything all set up and ready to go. They even offered to help us set up the other tables with linens and flowers. We just couldn’t believe how helpful and nice they were! The food was very yummy and we heard nothing but great things. The Tri-​Tip was my favorite! They even stayed until the event was over and helped us clean up our other tables, that was such a nice gesture on their part. We will think of Turf Catering first for any future events.

Everything that I’ve tried here has been exceptional. I usually get my orders to go. The services is fast and friendly. They have a few vegetarian offerings and several options for all of you meat lovers too. Next time you’re on John Street stop by, you won’t regret it! There’s parking in the back.

Wow, let me tell you guys something… Freakin’ delicious sandwiches. I’m from the Bay and moved to the area and I am very picky about the way my samiches are made and taste. Turf clubs food is
. Also this place caters to businesses and parties. What more could you ask for? I usually pick the tuna sandwich, so fresh that you can smell it through the bun. In addition, their tri-​tip is extremely tender and easy to bite through with juicy sauce oozing out of the sandwich. It’s really hard to find sandwich spots like these that have fantastic service and tasteful sandwiches.

I wish I could give 10 stars. Turf Club catered our daughter’s baby shower for 40 people. We were stressed as this was supposed to be an outdoor event… but it rained, moving the party inside. Butch and Martine showed up an hour & half early and transformed our house into a beautiful display of 5 different food stations. They were calm, professional, friendly and went above and beyond with service and clean up. The most important part of this review is the quality and flavors of Turf’s food. It is outstanding and gets an A+ in presentation, flavor, perfection seasoning, innovation, freshness and quality. Our guests devoured the food. We enjoyed watching happy humans graze the bounty. My husband and I have always cooked for our large family parties. This was our first ever experience with using a caterer. We have Turf on our calendar for our next party… so excited!

I first met Shahram back in the late 1990’s when he catered several Passover Seders that I was in charge of organizing. The tables had to be set up in a very specific manner, and he never balked one tiny bit. I gave him a complex diagram for each table and he and his staff set the tables exactly as I had requested. He even saved the diagram and probably still has it in his files to this day. His food was always wonderful and creative, even though I asked him to omit all dairy, yeast and not – for-​Passover wheat. He is so good, that he now also caters the Passover Seders for our congregation in Los Gatos. Yes, he is in Salinas, but still agrees to cater our seders in Los Gatos and does a spectacularly wonderful job.
We just had him cater our 40^th anniversary party at our house and every aspect was perfect. The food was awesome, his attention to detail, without flaw and even the bakery that he recommended (Royal Deli & Bakery) was way the heck above and beyond what one normally finds. I highly recommend Shahram’s Turf Club Catering. He always has a smile, is very personable, goes above and beyond what is required, and in short, is the best caterer in the area.

It was cold out, so my guest and I decided to try the soup. I have to say it was simply outstanding! Flavor and consistency were perfect. Thank you for such a great soup experience.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing their catering and the deli several times. The catering is very, very good, innovative, fresh, excellent flavors, and well presented. We are planning on using them for our next party. The deli staff is very friendly and can’t wait to go beyond what you might desire on your sandwich or help you package up leftovers. The deli food is very good and fresh. Again, the flavors are spot on and I enjoy the combinations they come up with on sandwiches. The cauliflower/​potato soup is a must have if they are serving it that day. Wow! Salinas has something tasty!

This is a great place to grab a sandwich. The food is always tasty and it’s a cute little deli. The catering is also stellar.

I have had their catering and it is good. This review is for the deli. I like their chicken salad sandwich. A while ago I got one and the bread was so stale I brought it back, but I thought today I would try it again. I asked for whole wheat bread and I think I got a smaller sandwich as a result. It was gone in twelve bites It came with a nice side salad but the slice of tomato was green. For an $ 8.00 plus tax sandwich I think I should feel more full. Overall I think they make high quality sandwiches that cost a little more. I never find it crowded. That’s good because parking is limited.

I heard about this place from a coworker, and it is literally a 2 minute walk from my job, so I tried it out for the first time a couple days ago.
Right off the bat, I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Shahram. He immediately greeted me with a genuine smile. He introduced himself and even asked my name. We chatted briefly, and he was very friendly. After receiving my order (a grilled chicken sandwich), he handed me a menu and welcomed me back.
Two days later, I was definitely back! Shahram remembered my name, and all the other people working there had smiles on their faces as well.
Just that customer service alone is a huge reason to check out this place. Plus, my food has been awesome each time and my coworkers keep telling me different things to try there.
This is my new regular lunchtime spot!

We stopped at Turf Club on the way home from Cayucos. Their homemade meatball sub was so very tasty as was their tri-​tip sandwich. This is a great place to grab a delicious, high-​quality sandwich, soup, or salad and enjoy it in the outdoor courtyard. The people working the counter were cheerful and professional. It is just off the freeway on the way to the Steinbeck Center.
