Went to purchase a gun, gun safe, and ammunition. Waited for way too long. Finally an employee walks by and says I should have grabbed the other guy when he was walking by. I looked around to see zero customers. No wonder your parking lot is always empty when I ride by. I’ve always heard terrible things about your service. Thank you for the confirmation. Dicks sporting goods is across the street.

Love this store! They have everything I need for both hunting and fishing. I am an avid fisherman and hunt occasionally but for fishing if I need it I know Gander Mountain has it. I also bought a hand gun from them and the service was fantastic they answered all my questions and helped me through the process. They called me the day my paperwork came back and my gun was available for me to pick up and helped me with all me accessories when I did. From warm weather to winter; hunting to fishing they have what you need and if you can’t find it they are extremely helpful and will do whatever they can to help you find it or order it for you.

At Christmas I went here twice trying to buy my fiancé a jacket. Every time I looked for sales staff they went the opposite way. Then I found a manager who said someone would help me when they had a minute… yeah they never had a minute apparently

It’s your typical large chain sporting goods store. Lots of stock but forget about being treated with any amount of respect. It’s like they’re just trying to shove you out the door to deal with the next customer. Sometimes you have no choice to buy from here since sporting goods stores are limited on the Eastern Shore but if i can get an item from another store like Wink’s in Princess Anne i’ll bypass Gander Mountain every single time. Just one of my experiences at Gander was i needed ammo for my S&W so i pick up the ammo and see an AR-15 i’ve been wanting, i walk up to the counter to take a closer look when one of the sales people said«Do you have a ticket?»(They have one of thise«take a number» machines there) i said«No i just wanted to take a closer look at that AR.» He looked at me and said«Uhm…OK?» In this sarcastic tone. I turned around, put the ammo back on the shelf and walked out. I went down the road to Wink’s and bought the ammo there. And bought the AR from another store as well. Like i said sometimes you can’t help but buy from here if you need it today but if i can wait i’ll order it online or buy it from one of the local smaller stores. I’ve heard stories like this from my friends as well.

Do you fish? Then come here. Do you hunt? Then come here. Do you camp? Then come here. Do you shoot? Then come here. Do you barbeque? Then come here. Be it snowpants, bait, north face jackets, hiking boots, fishing waders, kayak, sausage stuffer, head lamp, tents, coolers or a spork, from tackle box to circus peanuts you can find it here. It’s a really great store, with very helpful people to help you with what you’re looking for. There’s even a room in the back that you can reserve for a meeting(ham radio or shooting club anyone?) for — get this… FREE! Free, how cool is that? Also, and this is very important — they are DOGFRIENDLY! If your dog is well behaved, and trained they are very cool about you bringing them with you. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come in not really looking for anything specific, but have bought a bunch of stuff, because they are so great about my dogs I just want to give them my business. I am sharing this information, because I am always looking for dog friendly places/business. Please make sure your dogs are leashed, have good manners, and is house trained. It would be awful if someone ruins it for everybody. And for pete’s sake, patronize the establishment and buy something when you come in, it’s not a park after all. Fish hook — .99 cents. Sleeping bag — $ 40.00. Marshmallow toasting fork — $ 5.00 Having somewhere to take your best friend on a rainy day — PRICELESS.
