Love this bar. The locals can suck since it’s mostly jack-mo’s that get loud and emotional when they drink. Great place to catch the end of the game or catch the clap. I sometimes refer to this place as my aunt sue’s since my real aunt Susan was ostracized from the family. Other times I’ll refer to this place as a mountain and ask my brother if he wants to go hike Sue. Their theme is misogyny I think? I don’t know. Johnny Cash was an abusive alcoholic drug addict which is cool. But I digress. Lots of dudes in affliction shirts and bedazzled jeans. But the jukebox is free and full of punk rock. Hit and miss.

Favorite local bar for afternoon drinks and good food. Female bartenders are awesome, as with most of the male ones. Good locals hang here and they are friendly, tends to be younger. Free games and pool, lots of screens for sports etc, good tunes.

I’ve been here on two different occasions. The first time was a weeknight with a couple of friends. Service was great and food was great(for pub food). Having the different activities was fun(pool, ping-pong, karaōke). The other time was during UFC. It was packed. Our bartender was great, but the food took over 2 hours. The manager approached us, apologized, and made it right. We still had a great time. If you want a laid back atmosphere, this is a great choice.

Came here while waiting for a table at the Mexican place next door. And I will say we were kinda wishing we just had our friends meet us here instead! The bartender was funny! The place was cool and fun! And the drinks were good priced! I will be back!

Sunday Brunch for football is the best at this cool little joint. The bartenders are always cooler than hell and the food is BOMB. I’d recommend trying the«B.L.E.A.T»(their verson of the B.L.T, with bacon, lettuce, egg, avacado, and tomato on sour dough bread. SPLOOSH.

Edit: another half star. Great service by Tink. Knew to start us off with water(I don’t drink alcohol) without asking because she recognized us. Yes I am simple and easy to please. First night must have been a fluke. I’m willing to admit a mistake.

Been going here off and on since it’s opening due to it’s relatively close proximity to where I live. The place really hasn’t changed much over the years, which is too bad considering I always just figured that over time it would find it’s sea legs and become the great little bar this area so desperately needs. While the atmosphere is funky and casual, with decent music often playing, and a handful of T.V. monitors mounted around the space, Sue has always had a bit of an awkward feel to me. Is it the basement locale? Lack of windows? Harsh lighting? Echoey acoustics? I think Yes, yes, yes, and yes. The beer selection is good if you like 3.2 on draft, otherwise it’s limited. Most of the beers are overpriced, though they sometimes have a specialty shot or mixed drink at a fair price. Food has fallen hard. A couple of years ago I actually would go out of my way to eat here thanks to Chef Hillary’s terrific revamp of the menu. That seems to be a thing of the past now. Such a shame. Food now is typical bar food that is done sloppily and with zero care or finesse. Yuck. Service is a major problem, not because it’s always bad so much as it’s always inconsistent. A couple of the bartenders are very friendly and attentive, while most all other employees are unprofessional, rude, and more interested in being«hip» than in doing their jobs. Sometimes it’s simply laughable to see the attitudes of these folks! Bartenders and door staff can often be found looking like they’re recovering from hangovers while huddled together sharing stories of the night before. A common occurrence! Customers, outside of their daily bar flies, are often treated as an annoyance and generally ignored. I’m rarely, if ever tempted to visit The Sue anymore. It’s really too bad since the location and the general concept would appear to me to have good potential. But, after this many years it seems this place has flatlined, never to be revived.

I like the Sandy Bar Named Sue much better! I like a bar named sue in general so I went in last night with a couple of friends. After last call we went outside and noticed 2 cops sitting there waiting for people to leave. My friends and I hung out waiting a bit before we took off and I had to pee so I went back inside around 1:30 and the heavy bartender with the beard was like, «hey we’re closed.» I was like, hey man I just have to pee really fast. He responded by saying, «there are a couple of females cleaning the bathrooms right now you can’t go in» I knew they were finished because I was actually talking to one of the waitresses who cleaned the bathroom earlier and I responded, «cmon man I know their finished already and there are two cops outside, please?» He just replied, «no, sorry, you have to leave» and to think I actually felt bad for the dude when he was striking out with the chubby, drunk, belligerent chick he was hitting on! I also had an unpleasant experience with one of the bouncers, guy was just an asshole in general for no reason, I just asked to check out the ping pong equipment and for no reason he gave me a lot of attitude. Also irritating, I never get cell phone service at this location! I typically go to the sandy location and the staff they’re are a million times more friendly, they would have never have not allowed me to use the bathroom! Plus the bar is a lot nicer overall. The waitress, Ashley was pretty cool which is why I gave this a 2 star instead of a 1 but I won’t be going back to the highland location anytime soon!

I’m a really big fan. A bar that isn’t expensive and doesn’t try to nickle and dime you at every turn, I didn’t think that existed. Went to just go hang out and talk some stuff through with a friend on a Thursday night, and I went to go play pool, ready to plunk some quarters away and I was beyond shocked and happy when I learned I didn’t have to. There are poker tables, arcade machines and shuffleboard, all free and in great condition. They have a large stage to the north side of the bar and when I went they had karaōke. Unlike most places, it wasn’t too loud, so I’m sure this is a good place to check out local bands. One of the things I liked most about A Bar Named Sue is that with it being downstairs, you barely get cell service. It really makes you actually have to enjoy your time with the people you’re with. I will absolutely be going back and I highly suggest you do too.

Awesome bar, average food. The stage at the end of the massive room is great for live music and the beer selection is pretty good. There’s a small side room with pool and arcade games, it’s nice that you can head in there and avoid some of the crowd and noise. Waitresses and servers were great, but the bartenders are pretty inattentive.

Terrible service, very unpleasant bar tenders and on top of that a patron admitted to being underage but they continued to serve him! Extremely unprofessional, would not recommend this bar to anyone!

I like this place, they usually have a decent band playing on the weekends, drinks are good and not overly priced, great gaming area away from the music. I have been here before for football season to watch the games and have brunch and it’s quit legit the bacon waffles are my favorite. The waitress are great and attentive making sure I never have an empty glass, good service goes along way in my book!

I’m so disappointed that my group of friends had the experience that we did here. Before, we loved this place! But we had the most awful experience with a server there that has left a sour taste in our mouths. We were the only table in the entire bar, and we did all of the work ourselves. The server was extremely rude and condescending, and we were extremely taken aback by it. Great food, great atmosphere, awful service :(

Server didn’t check on our table often, we all ran out of drinks more than once and it took us asking to get a refill. Had an attitude when I asked to check on my appetizer because I was hungry. She snapped at me and said all our food will be done when it’s done and she’d bring it once it’s ready. She was training someone and chatting with someone at the bar. Told manager we were demanding. Note: If feeding hungry people isn’t your passion, find a new industry. Granted people have poor days, but she swore at us and raised her voice. I’m disappointed since my friends rave about this place. My warm Tennessee turkey was delicious. Although I was paranoid enough to check for spit. Didn’t seem to be tampered with (6 of us, only table at 4 o clock on a Saturday)

This place is ALWAYS packed! Super popular with the locals and always great, one of the few places to catch the UFC fights in the area. The fries are however disappointing.

Love this place. No cover charge, free pool, darts, video games, and ping pong. Their fried raviolis are delicious! Also the band that usually plays on saturdays, ‘Rage against the Supremes’ are amazing. This is our go to spot. Also drinks are decently priced compared to everywhere else.

I’ve never been to this bar but it’s Clear they have live music, and on Sundays they have free poker. Great atmosphere! Free pool and arcade games! Love he ping pong! Great for a date night! Casey rocks!!!

4 stars because… drum roll… Shuffle board. Oh did I mention it is FREE? Glad I got that out there. The band playing Saturday was really good. Which made up for the cover charge for the gentlemen. Close to my humble abode. Free Shuffle Board. Large inside with plenty of tables and seating. Pool is also FREE. God that is good to say! Plenty of beer on tap or bottled. Shuffle Board. Pitchers were reasonably priced(I believe we paid $ 9 for coors original)… let me expand on this. Their lines are dirty. That was the only practical excuse we could come up with when deciding that our«coors original» was mixed with Apricot Hefe. Slugged that back and said give me something else. «Long poor» shots… whatever that means. Shots were expensive here. Bathrooms were decent, and large enough to never really wait in line(see the common occurrence of how important bathrooms are to me in previous bar reviews). Free Shuffle Board. They have TV’s all around so it wouldn’t be a bad place for some sport watching, not on my part. So the only downside here BNS, clean your lines and simmer down on your shot prices. Oh and help a girl out, doing a favor for all of humanity here, remove Rammstein from your jukebox options.

I’m not much of a barfly. Which is odd, given the copious amounts of alcohol I have consumed in my life. I don’t drink any more. I don’t drink any less, either. Hey-Oh! Anyway, I stopped in here with a couple of my buddies for a few pre-dinner drinks the other night. It was so great that we decided to sup here and spend the entire evening. First of all, the pool was free! nice. The shuffleboard, darts, jukebox were also free. What!!! That’s fantastic! The beer selection was one of the best in town, including a dozen or so on tap and a bunch o’ real beers by the bottle. The service was quick and the bartenders and other staff members were all friendly and fun. After several beers we decided, with some apprehension, to try the food. I was blown away by the quality and deliciousness of the burgers here. Simply amazing. The bourbon laced chips, or whatever they call ‘em were dynamite too. I had the fried dills, as I’m known to do, and they were the best I’ve had anywhere… and I’ve been eating those things everywhere, every chance I get, for well over 20 years now. The music is great and just loud enough without being obnoxious. I really can’t think of any reason to subtract even a single star.
