Avoid AMC properties at all costs. They do not maintain properties well, or respond to complaints. They also like to charge for non-existent items and make up excuses like, «You underpaid your account last month.» When you ask what portion of the account wasn’t paid, there is NO clear answer. After noticing that there were notices tacked to everyone’s door, I talked with a few neighbors, and they were also stumped about their«underpaid» accounts. The complex I lived in was infested with rodents. After begging the management to please do something about the situation(and spending my own money to try to remedy the situation), I finally filed a grievance with the Rental Protection Agency and the Better Business Bureau, and moved. Avoid AMC properties at all cost. If you live in Utah, look for Wasatch Group Properties. They are a much better company to rent from.

Be careful… This is a growing national property management company. Take a look at their website to see all the properties they manage. They like to make extra money with«taxes» and other fees they tack on. If you’re late one day in a year you’ll get served with an eviction notice and $ 100 in fees. This may be legal but when many apartments regularly have notices and no one is ever evicted it looks more like some quick dirty money they can make off the tenants. I doubt the owners of the properties see any of that money. They also like to scam people with a «media package» adding another $ 100 for the cheapest most basic TV and Internet service they could manage to price fix with a local vendor. I was at Hills at Renaissance in Bountiful, but they manage all over the country. The Internet was only 6MB down, and the TV was a standard definition box with no premium channels. Their properties have permanent advertising signs because the turnover is so high. Hopefully this helps someone… If you are looking for an apartment and find one managed by this company keep looking.
