There’s a new receptionist, and she is friendly, & positive. The office has TV’s in the ceiling above the exam chairs. It makes the visit more pleasant for kids, and adults too! Ten years ago, I found Dr. Curtis, because I needed a dentist to fix a shoddy job I had done on a filling in my teeth. He repaired it, and I haven’t had a problem since that day. There was also the incident when I took my 1 year old daughter to a pediatric dentist. That dentist told me she needed to have the skin that connected her lips & teeth– cut. I sought a second opinion from Dr. Curtis, and he td me that procedure was completely unnecessary for a 12 month old to have. I opted to go with Dr. Curtis’ recommendation, and my daughter has never had a problem with her mouth. Now, all three of my young children see Dr. Curtis. My husband too! I lived in Seattle for 4 years, and I kept Dr. Curtis as my dentist. I’d travel 900 miles for my bi-yearly check ups. I think that highly of his services! He’s an honest, upbeat guy.

I guess the dental care I received wasn’t too bad, but the curmudgeon of a woman at the front desk is the most unhelpful and unpleasant person I have come across in some time! My wife’s experience was not as good though: When she was getting her teeth flossed she warned the hygienist about the bonding between her front teeth and how it was fragile, which apparently didn’t sink in because the hygienist then proceeded to floss between those teeth and chipped off the bonding. A little bit irritating, but not a huge deal. My wife then made another appointment to get it fixed, where she was told the original job was poorly done, to have chipped off so easily(it wasn’t, she had it done with a really great dentist when we lived in another state). The guy fixes it, tests his work by flossing… and obviously it chips off again. He then begrudgingly fixes the bonding a 2nd time and tells my wife: «You’ll need to be careful when flossing.» — exactly what she had originally told the hygienist to begin with! Oh, and then they tried to send us the bill for that little follow-up visit!!! Needless to say we soon found another dentist… at which point I called to see if our records could be faxed over to said new dentist, only to be told by the angry old broad at the front desk: «No. we don’t need to send your records to them. If the new place wants to know something we can fax them over, but we they won’t need them otherwise.»… I hung up, confused… I called the new place and told them what I was just told… they were also confused, but the new place called this bafflingly cranky(why does she not just find a new job if this one makes her so ornery???) lady right back and asked for the records to be sent. Best of luck to all who dare!
