What happened!!! Waffles this good should be regulated by the government. My waffle was the Torpedo, which was some type of waffle goodness with chocolate chunks. I swung for the fences and order it with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. OMG wow, this could have been served to me by the entire Brazilian Bikini Volleyball team and I would have only seen the waffle. My wife got something but I could only focus on my waffle goodness.

Haha! Such a cute waffle place. It won’t help your diet but it will heal your soul. Get the machine gun as that’s what they’re famous for. All the other options are really good too! If it is nice outside I would suggest you go pick a place outside.

The waffles are delicious! I usually get them Belgian chocolate stuffed with fresh strawberries and a heaping amount of glorious fresh crème(you could eat this stuff by itself). They look a little on the small side but don’t be fooled they are rich and amazing. The fries are some of the best I’ve had with aioli. The only downside I think is the cost. It was about $ 18 for 2 of these waffles which seems a little high because the toppings are extra and about $ 1 – 2 each. Still one of my favorite places.

This place has a great atmosphere and the waffles are delicious. I got the torpedo waffle which has nuggets of chocolate on the inside. Delicious! Also got an order of fries. The two items made for a winning combination. Service was good, no wait. I would recommend not getting the drip coffee that is against the wall. It did not taste fresh and was much too bitter for my taste.

Simply delicious! You forget you’re here and suddenly find yourself in Belgium. Loved it! Perfect balance between sweet and delicious.

Up in town last month for a convention. OMG, I could live at this place. We ran to the location twice just so I would feel too guilty eating the«favorite» and having hot chocolate. Only suggestion I would give. Maybe make the hot chocolate a little bit hotter. :) We will be back!!!

Spectacular! These waffles are incomparable! If you have a sweet tooth or are just in the mood for a mouth-watering treat, Bruges is surely the place for you. To be fair, I’ve only had the waffles topped with ice cream here, but that’s all you need! I had«The Monster» which was flat waffle with two perfectly round scoops of vanilla ice cream holding a blueberry as the pupil for an eyeball!(Pretty creative if you ask me) this was then topped with another waffle and covered in sliced strawberries! The homemade waffles are just indescribable. You must simply try it for yourself!

Stopped here for a bite to eat before heading out of town. The waffles here are so good! The lady that helped us said they are loaded with butter and sugar so they don’t need anything else and she was right. The waffle tasted almost like a sugar cookie! Then you top it with crème fraîche and berries and it is an amazing combo. The place is small, and by small I mean literally like 8 stools inside and that is it. If your claustrophobic then this place will really test your limits. They said they have roof top seating as well. We ended up just sitting at a table they had outside even though it was only about 35 degrees outside. The warm delicious waffles kept us warm! Next time we are in town we will try their fries!

A really cool place right near Pioneer Park. The waffles are excellent; very sweet, crunchy on the outside and a bit chewy inside. The ice cream is smooth, creamy and luxuriant. The hamburger was one of the most interesting I’ve had in awhile. The bun was really light and airy, but flavorful and wonderfully flaky. The burger itself wasn’t huge, but seasoned well and the sauces were so dang good I had to keep licking my fingers. The frites were all right, like really good French Fries, but nowhere near as good as the frites at Les Madeleines. Dipping sauces were unique, varied and yummy. Prices are high, but the food is worth it and everything is high quality. My biggest complaint is the miniscule building. It was a Sunday afternoon in January, and the inside was packed with people trying to order. There’s plenty of seating outside, but you have to go way around and up a bunch of stairs to use it. I can imagine the wait-times in summer have to be off the hook(especially with ice cream this friggin good), and it will take a bit of chutzpah to elbow your way inside and get served.

We eat at Bruges consistently… maybe even once a week. Or at least once a week. We regularly order the Waffle monster and the«baby» size frites and share it with the two of us and get filled up! The price is worth it and they are always consistent in this location with the size of the fries! I just remember the first time we went here a few years ago and when we asked about the frites sizes they said to get the ‘baby’ size. And we were like baby?! there’s 4 of us! and the guy said not ‘baby’ size but an actual baby size. haha Anyways it looks like they are opening locations here and there. The location in sugarhouse is always dissapointing with the size of the fries and waffle monster. Draper is good! But our favorite is still the one in SLC because they are always consistent and are not stingy with there baby size fries!

Wow! This was the best first meal I could’ve had upon my visit to Utah! What a cute hole in the wall found in downtown SLC. Environment/Ambience: This was such a cute little shack. The extremely friendly cashier(Sam) created such a welcoming and friendly vibe for the whole place. He already set a great tone for my first time here upon my arrival. Food: To be honest, I didn’t read up reviews to see what to get so I asked for Sam’s recommendation. He just told me to trust him and he ordered me fries and a raspberry with chocolate drizzle waffle. I can’t even tell you what it was called because he picked something for me. But whatever it was it was DELICIOUS. I’m sure if you were to tell them you wanted the waffle with raspberries, whip cream and a chocolate drizzle they’d be able to pin point it for you. As for the fries. OMG. Some of the best fries I have EVER had! No wonder the party before me came in just to order 4 orders of fries to go. Just looking back at pictures of the waffles and fries are making my mouth water! EVERYONEHASTOTRYTHEIRFRIES!!! &&WAFFLES! BUTDEFINITELYTHEFRIES! This is going to be my first stop the next time I’m in the downtown SLC area for sure!

This place is trouble! Everything here is so good! Of-course I get everything loaded on my super sweet waffle! I was surprised to see that they have yummy sandwiches on my last visit too. The tuna is awesome!

My family and I were downtown Salt Lake and wanted something authentic. Of course I searched Unilocal and this place caught our eye. They serve waffles! They also serve sandwiches, burgers and fries. Our group was all about the waffles. The staff are super friendly, informative and funny. They take their jobs very seriously with twist of humor. What a great vibe! We were in on a cold and blustery day. Inside seating is limited to about 6 stools. There is ample outdoor seating. The location is great. It’s walking distance to the mega plex, train station, Jazz Arena, Temple Square and a multitude of shopping options. These guys didn’t hesitate to make suggestions. I had the chocolate chip waffle topped with Biscof, one of the most delicious toppings I’ve ever tasted! I asked for fresh strawberries and blueberries plus chocolate syrup too. Hey this was my breakfast and lunch, I didn’t mind splurging. The cozy interior was warm and smelled like heaven. The guys Samwell, Treev and Stephen make no mistake about keeping their customers happy! I’m looking forward to heading back to this gem in the heart of downtown!-We highly recommend this place!

If you get a chance to hit up Bruges, do it! This place was awesome. It had a really cool«hole in wall indie» joint feel to it. I’m a huge fan of that. The servers there were really cool and personable, to the point where we kinda became friends at the end. Cool dudes. I went with some buddies and got a Ricky Burger with some Frites. This was one of the better hamburgers I have ever had. The sauce was incredible and the Frites are really crispy and taste amazing. Dip the fries in the Samurai sauce… you won’t regret it. The whole experience was great. Even waiting for the food wasn’t so bad because of all the stuff to look at and see inside. I will definitely be coming back. The only problem I foresee is that it is so small. There is seating outside but there are literally 4 seats inside and if I were to come on a cold day and it was busy, it would put me off just a little. So be prepared for that. Great place, great food!

As a potato fanatic, this place is ranked up there with some of my favorite fries in Salt Lake. The frites come in large portions and are absolutely delicious. My friend and I chose to grab some waffles and split a large cone of frites which paired with their amazing variety of house-made sauces were the bomb. I recommend the andalouse, curry, or the brasil(Cause it has basil in it?). All of them were top notch. If you decide to get a waffle, be aware that it is really sweet. Topped with ice cream and fruits of choice, your sweet tooth will be savoring every bite of belgian chocolate-filled waffle. For those without a sweet tooth, I recommend just grabbing the frites and saving you a ton of cash because this place is on the pricey side. Tip: For a date, if it isn’t crowded, go up top and sit with a great view of Pioneer Park.

Got the Machine Gun — didn’t care for bun, sausage, or Andalouse sauce, but the frites lived up to hype. Now, I know why they have 4 – 5 «Best Fries in Utah» plaques on their wall! Do yourself a favor — got straight for the frites! Oh, the Curry sauce was fun to try — curry spice taste followed by hint of mint at finish. Friendly staff directed me to dining patio above, where I sat listening to some poor young lady beg her boyfriend«M» in apartments behind Bruges to unlock the door & let her in. UPDATE: Got a great waffle(see photo) 2 days later. Stick w/the waffles & frites — nothing else. Good stuff!

I was driving through Salt Lake City with my friend and we decided to grab a snack before heading back onto the road. Bruges was one of the top places that showed up on Unilocal, street Parking was easy to find and free! It is national waffle week so they were having a special deal on waffles $ 2 for an original waffle with Belgian chocolate and vanilla cream, we also ordered a small fries with andoulaise sauce. The fries came out pretty quickly and they were super hot crispy and fresh. The andoulaise sauce was really good as well. The waffle took a little bit longer to come out but it was scrumptious. The Belgian chocolate was Soo buttery and rich. The waffle ended up being a delicious sugared mess. I definitely would come here again but probably wouldn’t be able to eat as much food since the food is a bit filling and fatty.

3.5 stars. I liked the waffle. It was crispy on the outside, doughy and chewy, sweet, but still light overall. Didn’t really enjoy the crème fraîche, it made the waffle soggy. My husband got the hot dog and I thought it was too heavy and there was just way too much sauce. I guess it’s not our style. In my opinion this type of food will be most tasty on a cold snowy day. I’m imagining myself all bundled up with a warm sweet waffle in my hands. MMMMMM.

I think I’ve found my cheatmeal for life! Too bad I live in San Francisco. But oh my goodness, their TORPEDO waffle aka the liege waffle stuffed with Belgium chocolate is simply HEAVEN! Just get it plain, as is. It’s perfect already. No toppings necessary. Chocolate is really rich, dark, and high quality! Their Monster Waffle with all the best toppings(cookie butter and ice cream!) is wonderful as well.
