Build-A-Bear Workshop

This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in a Build-​a-​Bear location.
All was fine until we reached the checkout. There, it apparently took two employees to take tags off and assist a couple who were buying some items. The employees completely ignored us as we stood there, until one leaned over to the other register to get a pair of scissors. Then she greeted the children, and went back to chatting and encouraging the other customers to purchase more accessories.
When she finally gave us her attention (a solid 15 minutes later — standing there with very impatient and bored children) she was immediately rude to us and then rolled her eyes at us when we questioned the pricing on items. Seriously. Rolled her eyes.
Donna — her name tag was helpfully visible — told us that we just didn’t understand the pricing. Well no, we did. What happened was that we were told incorrect information, and then allowed to get items that not only increased the price of the bears, but would have greatly upset the children if we’d put back. This type of sly nickel and dining is not something that I would expect from Build-​a-​Bear. Instead of telling us that these extra items are included in the sales price, perhaps opt for honesty from your staff.
After paying $ 80 more than we should have, we left — with the very rude Donna completely ignoring the adults, but in a fake cheery voice telling the children to have a great day.
I would never permit my staff to be this rude to customers, regardless of the situation.
I will not be returning to this location, or any others.

Brought my 5 year old daughter here for a birthday party. It was really cute and well organized. The host was a little weird, but I think it was to keep the kids attention.
It was really cute watching my daughter pick out her animal, stuff it, dress it and whatever else they do. The employees were there to help her every step of the way. They were very patient with all of the kids (and they had a packed store).
The store was clean, well stocked, and the employees were friendly. Would I come back? Probably. I’m sure that my daughter will will beg to come back to pick up some new accessories for her bear.

Friendly staff. Thoughtfully created a lasting memory for my children in creating there stuffed animal. Would recommend a week day visit to save some time.

Attended a birthday party here. Great for 5 year olds, 3 was too young. Host was kinda creepy honestly, but the kids didn’t seem to mind.
